Abstract:To solve dynamic integration problems of manufacturing resources in agile manufacturing,a Web services based framework solution was proposed.The framework consisted mainly of the provider application for enterprises to provide manufacturing resource services,as well as the Agile Manufacturing Universal Description Discovery and Integration(AM_UDDI) service and the resource search engine for managing(publishing/discovering/integrating) manufacturing resources across the Internet.Manufacturing resources modeling was conducted based on Ontology.Through the resource access controllers in them,manufacturing resource provider applications published manufacturing resources in forms of ontology-based models.AM_UDDI services,which were based on the extension of standard UDDI protocol,provided on the other hand functionalities for registration,quick discovery and integration of manufacturing resources.The intelligent discovery of manufacturing resources could be achieved by using the resource search engine,which was developed based on the AM_UDDI services.In addition to the support of loosely coupled integration of manufacturing resources across Internet and among heterogeneous systems or platforms,this framework also support the efficient publishing and discovery of manufacturing resources,with significantly improved level of extensibility,maintainability and scalability.
