Abstract:This paper adopts hybrid algorithm of the Kalman filter and template matching.The operation quantity is small and the method is easy to be implemented. The algorithm can be used to track vehicle under complicated conditions, and the experiment results prove its applicability.

Abstract:Through analyzing actual traffic scene,especially considering the video change between adjoining frames,this paper presents a robust and real-time method for extracting and updating background,and realizes the algorithm of vehicle detection based on background subtraction.Moreover,according the information of vehicle corner,this paper adopts Kalman filter to track each moving vehicle and uses optic projective transform to partially resume the depth of these corners,which can check the match result.The proposed method has been tested on a number of monocular traffic-image sequences and the experimental results show that the algorithm is robust and real-time,which can effectively extract moving vehicle from traffic scene and track each one within the range of visual field.
A New Detection and Tracking Algorithm for Moving Objects

Abstract:When both camera and objects are in moving state, the moving objects cannot be detected by common moving objects detection algorithms. For this reason a background matching algorithm combining with inter-frame differential technique is proposed to solve such problem. The moving objects can be effectively extracted with this method. When motion was detected, a Kalman predictor was used to estimate the object’s position in the image. Combined with an incremental PID control approach with dead area, the camera can track the moving objects. Experimental results show that the selection of the matching blocks speeds up the processing speed and improves the stability of the algorithm. Kalman predictor makes the tracking more stable and reliable. This algorithm is characteristics of simplicity, applicability and anti-noise.

Abstract:An algorithm of mov-ing vehicle detection and tracking was constructed by using the background rebuilding technolo- gy.Based on the introduction of the multi-features match,an applied simple logic object tracking state judgment based on multi- features matching was designed.The result Of experiment showed that this algorithm could track with multiple moving vehicles, and could be a good solution to the disadvantageous factors such as the changing of illuminant and object moving state.

Abstract:Vehicle tracking is one of the key technologies in Intelligent Transportation System.In this paper,a new vehicle tracking algorithm based on UKF and SIFT is proposed after researching of the the existing algorithm:vehicle moving model is made by converting the parameters of the contour-rectangles to the parameters of UKF filter,objects sheltering can be effectively resolved through matching SIFT feature.The experiments demonstrate that vehicles can be tracked stably,and objects sheltering can be effectively resolved.

Abstract:According to the features of traffic supervisory video, Compressive Tracking (CT) algorithm is adopted to detect and track the moving car. When the camera angle, moving vehicle scale and background changed, the CT algorithm still has a strong robustness. However, the algorithm is invalid when car is sheltered so that the tracked car cannot be located. In order to overcome this problem, a new method which uses Kalman filter to predict the sheltered car moving position is proposed. Experimental results show that despite changed in tracking window size and target location or sheltered overall or partly, the proposed algorithm can also track that car successfully, and has good real-time performance which meets the requirements of engineering application.

Abstract:Aiming at vehicle detection and tracking problems in video monitoring and controlling system, this paper mainly studies vehicle detection and tracking problems in conditions of high traffic density in daytime. This paper is distinguished by two key contributions. First, we develop an improvement -SEAP(Simple but Efficient After Process) which checks the detection results in an accurate way and is an after process of Adaboost [1] detector which used to detect car in every frame Second, we propose a tracking algorithm named 4-states tracking algorithm based on Kalman[5] linear filter. Tracking results turn unsteady as traffic density grows higher because of much more false positives and false negatives appear. However, 4-states tracking algorithm can solve this problem in an easy way by introducing FSM (Finite State Machine) into tracking algorithm. Finally, we implement a real-time vehicle detection and tracking system with the upper methods. Experiments give good results in relative crowded Conditions.

Abstract:In modern traffic surveillance, computer vision methods have commonly been utiliezed to detect vehicles because of the rich information content contained in an image. And detection and tracking of moving vehicle in traffic environment is one of the most important components in intelligent transportation system (ITS). The adaptive background modeling method was used to eliminate the negative effects from moving vehicle and rebuild the background images. The moving vehicles were segmented with difference images between background and current images. To suppress noise caused by segmentation and improve robust performance of vehicle detection, a template with 3-by-3 window was utilized to decrease isolated noise points around vehicle contours. Then, the morphological filtering, including erosion and dilation operation, was also applied, which minimizes the influence of the discontinuous block noise. Finally, to reduce the searching scope of vehicle detected and improve the calculation speed, Kalman filter model was performed to track motive vehicles. Abstract:Forward collision avoidance systems have shown to be a particularly effective crash-avoidance technology. Multi-vehicle tracking capabilities play an important role in the real-world performance and effectiveness of such systems. In order to effectively and accurately track vehicles in a moving platform and in complicated road environments, the authors proposed a multi-vehicle tracking algorithm based on an improved particle filter. First, the authors used a vehicle disappearance detection and handling mechanism based on the normalised area of the minimum circumscribed rectangle of particle distributions. This mechanism is used to verify whether a new target is a vehicle and can also handle the vehicle exit during the tracking phase. Next, an improved particle filter-based framework, which includes a new process dynamical distribution, allowed for multi-vehicle tracking capabilities was used for vehicle tracking. Finally, an effective occlusion detection and handling mechanism was used to address the significant occlusion between vehicles. The combination of these added improvements in the algorithm results in the enhancement of the vehicle tracking rate in a variety of challenging conditions. Experimental tests carried out from different datasets show excellent performance in multi-vehicle tracking, in terms of accuracy in complex traffic situations and under different lighting conditions.
Real-time Vehicles Tracking Based on Kalman Filter in a Video-Based ITS

Abstract:Tracking vehicles is an important and challenging issue in video-based intelligent transportation systems and has been broadly investigated in the past. This paper presents a robust and real-time method for tracking vehicles and the proposed algorithm includes two stages: vehicle detection, vehicle tracking. Vehicle detection is a key step and the concept of tracking vehicle is built upon the vehicle-segmentation method. According to the segmented vehicle shape, we propose a three-step prediction method based on the Kalman filter to track each vehicle. The proposed method has been tested on a number of monocular traffic-image sequences and the experimental results show that the algorithm is robust and real-time. The correct rate of vehicle tracking is higher than 85 percent, independent of environmental conditions.

Abstract:This paper proposes some new methods for the three key steps of vehicle detection and trajectory tracking based on the digital image processing.In the background estimation,the Gaussian distribution hypothesis is verified and an autoregression background estimation algorithm is presented for both daytime and nighttime light-environments.In the detection of multiple moving objects,a new traversed labeled algorithm is proposed and verified,which traverses the pixels for only one time.In the tracking of vehicles,the Kalman filtering is adopted to obtain the transition and observation matrixs,and the method to get the first state vector of Kalman filter is also studied.Moreover,the image similarity is used to match the partial image to the original one,thus overcoming the semi-shelter usually existing in the vehicle tracking.Experimental results in real traffic scene indicate that the proposed approaches are practical and effective,with a tracking accuracy of more than 95%.

Abstract:The moving object detection and tracking is a hot and difficult spot in computer vision field.In order to make application for complex background,an object tracking algorithm based on kalman filter and two level feature matching is presented in this paper.First,a depth matrix is introduced in the background modeling to reduce the noise influence and then use Kalman filter to predict the object position,and make the two level feature matching based on geometrical characteristics and kernel histogram.The experiment shows that this algorithm can meet the requirements of real-time and validity.

Abstract:For real-time tracking of moving vehicles,the general and efficient method is based on Kalman filter.However,the false detection often exists when more than one objects approaches with each other.It causes error in target matching process.To overcome the above problem,this paper first considers the width/height ratio and occupancy ratio to make false detection judgment.Then a new moving vehicle segmentation algorithm based on feature points on contour is presented.Lastly,the tracking model based on extended Kalman filter is implemented.Experimental results demonstrate that the rule can recognize false detection quite accurately.The proposed vehicles segmentation method can segment the overlapped ones accurately and completely,and finally the tracking model based on extended Kalman filter is implemented to realize the real-time tracking.

Abstract:Motion targets tracking is an important part of video surveillance,which offers technical support for researching motion characteristic and traffic behaviors of moving objects in traffic flow.Firstly,we predict the moving target state information of the former observation time by Kalman filter,and obtain the geometric center and the compactness of the object;then calculate the velocity and the compactness variety with matching errors between predicted values of the former time and observed values of the current time.From these step,we can achieve accurate,fast motion tracking results through recursive algorithm.In order to ensure the continuity and the stabilization in the tracking process,occlusion handling method based on gray model(GM(1,1)) is proposed.At last,we validate the proposed algorithm under different traffic scenes.Results show that the algorithm is robust and adaptive in multiple targets motion tracking even in the case of occlusion in real-time.

Abstract:Real-time and accurate vehicle tracking by Cameras and Surveillance can provide strong support for the acquisition and application of important traffic parameters, which is the basis of the traffic condition evaluation and the reasonable traffic command and dispatch. To deal with difficult problems of vehicle tracking research in a complex environments, such as occlusion, sudden illumination change, similar target interference and real-time tracking, measures are taken as follows. Firstly, the existing color local entropy particle filter tracking method is improved. The symmetry of information entropy is used to overcome the tracking failure caused by large-area occlusion. Secondly, the SIFT feature tracking method is improved to enhance real-time performance and robustness. Thirdly, two tracking methods were combined according to their characteristics, aiming at effectively improving the quasi-determination and real-time performance of vehicle tracking. Fourthly, Kalman filter was used to predict the motion state of vehicles. According to the SIFT characteristics and license plate information of vehicles, the exact position of the lost target vehicles is quickly located. It has been verified by experiments that our method has effectively improved the accuracy and real-time performance of vehicle tracking in complex situations.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new method on the vehicle behavior analysis. Firstly, complete vehicle object detection based from the background of road and achieve object tracking by the Cam-Shift algorithm, and then get the target trajectory of the vehicle. According to the basic behavior of vehicle trajectory features and speed features based on the analysis of the vehicle trajectory, we propose a method for extracting vehicle trajectory features and obtaining the motion feature vector. Finally, the improved voting strategy in the SVM algorithm is proposed to recognize the vehicle movement behavior. Experimental results show that the proposed method could complete the target vehicle behavior analysis, which functions more quickly and accurately compared with existing behavior-based vehicle trajectory analysis.

Abstract:Real-time vehicle counting can efficiently improve traffic control and management. Aiming to efficiently collect the real-time traffic information, the authors propose an effective vehicle counting system for detecting and tracking vehicles in complex traffic scenes. The proposed algorithm detects moving vehicles based on background subtraction method with low-rank+sparse' decomposition. For accurately counting vehicles, an online Kalman filter algorithm is used to track the multiple moving objects and avoid counting one vehicle repeatedly. The proposed method is evaluated on three publicly available datasets, which include seven video sequences with various challenging scenes for detection performance evaluation, and another two video sequences for vehicle counting evaluation. The experimental results demonstrate a good performance of the proposed method in terms of both qualitative and quantitative evaluations.

Abstract:Real-time multichannel video analysis is significant for intelligent transportation. Considering that deep learning and correlation filter (CF) tracking are time-consuming, a vehicle tracking method for traffic scenes is presented based on a detection-based tracking (DBT) framework. To design the model of vehicle detection, the You Only Look Once (YOLO) model is used, and then, two constraints including object attribute information and intersection over union (IOU), are combined to modify the vehicle detection box. This approach improves vehicle detection precision. In the design of tracking model, a lightweight feature extraction network model for vehicle tracking is constructed. An inception module is used in this model to reduce the computational load and increase the adaptivity of the network scale. And a squeeze-and-excitation channel attention mechanism is adopted to enhance feature learning. Regarding the object tracking strategy, the method of combining a spatial constraint and filter template matching is adopted. The observation value and prediction value are matched and corrected to achieve stable tracking of the target. Based on the interference of occlusion in target tracking, the spatial position, moving direction, and historical feature correlation of the target are comprehensively employed to achieve continuous tracking of the target.

Abstract:Vehicle monitoring technology based on the video image due to its features of easy maintenance and easy implement is concerned in recent years. Vehicle tracking is one of the key technologies to achieve video vehicle monitoring. How to achieve real-time vehicle tracking is the key and difficult problem at home and abroad. A method of Kalman tracking based on virtual loop is proposed in the paper. Two parts about vehicle presence detection and vehicle forecast tracking are introduced in this paper. Experimental results show that this method in the fast-path scenarios can effectively achieve vehicles tracking, fully meet the system requirements and have high practicality.

Abstract:Robust vehicle tracking algorithm is an important precondition for realizing traffic event detection, but occlusion is a key influence factor for vehicle tracking. An adaptive vehicle tracking algorithm is designed to deal with the problem. In addition, according to the spatial and temporal characteristics of traffic image sequences, using basic Markov theory and Bayesian method, and combining texture information of color image sequences, a spatial-temporal Markov random field model of image sequence is built. After object maps are optimized with the Metropolis stochastic algorithm, the occlusion problem in vehicle tracking is solved. Preliminary experimental result, the tracking success ratio when vehicles are not occluded with each other is 95%, and when being occluded the tracking success ratio is 83%. The experimental results indicate that this tracking algorithm is accurate when being not occluded and acceptable when being occluded.

Abstract:Based on the computer vision technology and the digital image processing technology, the video moving vehicle detection and tracking algorithm is made to be on research; with the base of each characters of the background difference method and the inter-frame difference method, a revised comprehensive difference method is used, and combined with the special traffic video background, a background updating method revised from Surrender Algorithm is proposed. The moving object tracking algorithm based on matching matrix is explained to focus on the problem of failure of tracking moving objects when each of them are kept out. The application of software demonstrates that the method cited in this paper proves to be right and feasible and meet the need of highway operation monitor.
