Review on green synthesis of silver nanoparticles and its application in water treatment

Abstract:The most commonly used method for the preparation of silver nanoparticles was chemical reduc-tion method.Thus more chemical reagents were used and made pollution to the environment.The green preparation methods of silver nanoparticles,including two sugar method,polysaccharide method,microbial synthesis method and plant extraction method were introduced based on the domestic and foreign research results in recent years.The application of silver nanoparticles in water and wastewater treatment were also introduced.It is concluded that saccharides could be used as reducing agents to produce silver nanoparti-cles with good catalytic and germicidal properties.The morphology controlled of silver nanoparticles,the selection of microorganisms and plants in biosynthesis are the development direction of silver nanoparticles green preparation.
