Isolation and Identification of Chemical Components from Artemisia Integrifolia

Abstract:The chemical constituents from the aerial parts of Artemisia integrifolia has been studied.The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by extraction,partition and various column chromatographic methods.Their structures were determined on the basis of physical and chemical properties and spectral analyses.Four compounds were isolated from the acetidin extract in A. integrifolia with the structures identified as dodecyl-p-coumarate(1),5 -hydroxy-6,7,3',4'-tetramethoxy-flavone (2),eupatilin(3),octylpalmitate(4). Compounds 1 and 4 are isolated from the plants of Artemisia Linn for the first time and compounds 3 is isolated from this plant for the first time.
