Abstract:Highly ordered TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs) were fabricated via the electrochemical anodic oxidation process. The effects of applied anodization potential, anodization time and electrolyte water content on the microstructure of nanotubes were investigated with SEM. The crystalline phase was characterized with XRD. The papermaking wastewater was treated through photocatalytic oxidation process, in which the TNAs were used as the photocalyst and the wastewater went through the pretreatment by the flocculation of polyaluminium chloride (PAC). The effect of the length of titanium nanotube on the photocatalytic degradation was evaluated. The results showed both the tube diameter and the tube length had a linear relation with anodization voltage and anodization time within a certain range. TNAs calcined at 450℃ for 2h was pure anatase phase. The highest removal rate of CODCr after photocatalytic reaction reached 52. 94% when the nanotube length was 1500 nm and the CODCr was reduced to 40 mg /L. On the other hand, the study found that the TNAs showed up the best photocatalytic activity when the actual tube length was near the penetration depth of UV light.
