Analysis and Prospect of the Utilizations of Shallow Geothermal Energy in Suburbs and Small Towns in Germany

Abstract:Energy is the essential part of the urban issues. In Germany, with the promotion and utilization of solar and wind energies, the utilization technologies of geothermal energy especially shallow geothermal energy are also well developed and commercialized in suburbs and small towns. The Twelfth Five-Year Plan (The Twelfth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China) and Proposal on Formulating the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) on National Economic and Social Development have made clear statement to promote the developing of the renewable clean energy in China. With the inspiration of the utilization experiences of the shallow geothermal energy in Germany, namely by realization of the local resource, lower transportation cost as well as perfect integration within the environment, the geothermal energy could develop in a more efficient and positive way in China, especially in terms of solving the energy problems from the construction and development of urban village and new rural areas.
