A Fuzzy Control Approach Based On Multi-Sensor Management And Its Application

Abstract:In order to control some complex chemical processes a fuzzy control approach based on the multi-sensor management (MSM) is proposed. Because those processes not only are strongly nonlinear and closely,coupled, but also demand to dynamically make different control decision of strategies according to the specific conditions or stages. The major factors that influence those processes were measured dynamically by a multi-sensor. With the closed-loop structure of the feedback by fusing the information from the multi-sensor, the reliability and accuracy of the information were all improved. After sensor behavior assignment, sensor coordination, sensor deployment and sensor synthesis, MSM could decompose those processes, which were difficulty to be controlled with multivariable fuzzy controller (FC), into some simple processes that could be controlled with FC. A novel online automatic distillation analyzer (OADA) had been developed, which is controlled with the proposed approach. The experimental results both in the experimental laboratory and at the industrial spot respectively have shown that the accuracy, repeatability and stability of the developed OADA are all better than those of the existing OADA. Meanwhile the results indicate that the proposed approach has strong anti-disturbance and wide applicability, and can be used to control some complex chemical process.
