Abstract:The principle of phase shift controlled full-bridge(FB)converter was analyzed,and a reliable IGBT driver circuit was presented.Based on the above,a power supply module with constant voltage or constant current output was designed for electric vehicle charging.Differential voltage feedback made it possible to achieve series and parallel.Finally,a prototype was developed with three-phase AC 380 V input,DC 100 V output,10 kW output power.The experimental results show that the power supply has good control performance,strong flexibility and reliability.

Abstract:According to control features of MV(Middle-Voltage) (6 kV or 10 kV) and EV(Eow-Voltage) (380V) system in fossil fuel power plants, basic functions of the intelligent field-bus terminal device are put forward, such as protection, remote control, remote signaling and communication. The MV system is normally configured with digital protective and I/O device, or intelligent I/O device. The LV system is normally configured with intelligent motor controller, intelligent instrument, integrated protective and I/O device or control unit built in CB. There are four common field-bus types for intelligent terminal devices in power plants: Modbus-RTU protocol-based RS-485 field-bus, CAN bus, Profibus-DP and Lonworks. Now, application of industrial Ethernet is becoming more widely. For power plants with limited control objects, RS-485 field-bus or CAN bus is more applicable and economic. For medium and big power plants, it is suggested to apply those buses with high communication speed, large node volume and long transmission distance, such as Profibus-DP, Lonworks and Ethernet.

Abstract:Based on special demand of field power for artillery electric drive system and analysis of the existing power system, a new design of hybrid power device with super capacitor is proposed to replace the traditional battery, which is more suitable to the field requirements, and has more energy efficiency, greater power ratio, and energy ratio. The design criteria and formula are presented. Test results show that the hybrid device, compared with the traditional power device, has the advantages of high efficiency, high energy volume ratio, high weight ratio, strong environmental adaptability, and good lower temperature performances, and can meet the demand of power device in the field condition.

Abstract:Abstract The paper is the primary and secondary electrical design of a 4×50MW small-scale power plant. We selected the number and type of main transformers of our factory, plan to design two alternatives for main electrical wiring. The equivalent circuit diagram is simplified, and each short-circuit point is calculated in order to provide data protection for the subsequent selection, and then combined with the calculation results of each short-circuit point to select and verify the types of various equipment in the power plant.

Abstract:The choice of the power components of the electric traction converters for autonomous vehicles is a very important aspect in their design. The attention in this paper is first focused on the choice of the DC link capacitor, followed by choice of the IGBT modules, their testing and cooling. Then, the choice of power cables is approached. A dedicated test bench for electric traction converters for autonomous vehicles was designed and achieved. In defining the parameters of the test bench, various possible applications on battery-powered vehicles were taken into account, but also their performances, technical characteristics and functional characteristics. An important share belongs to the integrated propulsion/charging system of the Li-Ion battery developed by the company SC INDA SRL. It is already used in automotive on full-electric trucks and in the battery-powered electric locomotives.

Abstract:An electrical vehicle charging station is a charging power supply for electrical vehicles. This paper proposes design of a model for a PV based electrical vehicle that forecasts total power output under particular conditions of Ankara city. First PV cell parameters are determined and then PV array formed including cells designed in order to calculate cumulative effect. Using actual irradiation and temperature values we try to catch an approximation of output power for the future needs. Electric vehicles offer many advantages ranging from easy access and abundance of electrical energy sources. The objective of this paper is to obtain the best configuration of the hybrid power systems for charging station in a rural area such as Labuan bajo, Indonesia. Thus, the best configuration obtained is then installing with three types of energy storage namely Lead Acid and UNS Lithium battery such as Lithium Ion and Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) to determine the minimum cost of operation and energy cost in a year. The results showed by implementing hybrid systems from PV and DER is the best configuration for off grid charging station. The most optimal battery in off grid system achieved by installing UNS LFP batteries. As a conclusion, by utilizing hybrid power generation technology, the potential for renewable energy in rural areas can be the main key in realizing the availability of charging stations in rural areas with affordable price for supporting electric vehicles infrastructure.

Abstract:The focus of this paper is the potential electrification of specialized agricultural tractors involved in vineyards and orchards. This category of machinery has not received research attention to date; however, regulations are encouraging lower emissions and higher efficiency, requiring the adoption of new technologies. Traction makes up only a limited part of this application, and the working cycle is not trivial; therefore, the design of the system is not straightforward. This study takes advantage of experimental measurements carried out under real operating conditions on a traditional specialized tractor, which was chosen as performance target. The performance requirements of the hybrid powertrain components are investigated, with particular focus placed on the electric motor. According to the dimension constraints, the design of the electric motor is carried out considering the requirements in terms of its thermal-equivalent torque and overload capability. The results are validated through a detailed thermal simulation under real duty cycles.

A more suitable method of fast replacing battery of electric vehicles is found and the practical method and process of quickly replacing battery are focused as a major topic. The changing equipment used is studied and described while the efficiency of electrical changing equipments is discussed. The reserve number of batteries in power charging plant and the number of vehicles that each quickly changing device could service are studied and derived.

Abstract:In the conditions of deterioration of the environment due to emissions and reduction of fossil fuel reserves in various industrial sectors, the transfer of funds to alternative clean energy is a promising way. This development encourages the modernization not only of automobiles, but also of other specialized vehicles, such as wheeled tractors. In agriculture, tractors of various traction classes are used for traction and transport work. Today, the development of electric driveconstruction technology is advisable to implement in small-class tractors, which are intended for inter-row processing of row crops, plowing light soils in gardens and greenhouses, for working with a mower, as well as for small transport works. Therefore, the material of this article aims to provide a technical justification for the choice of an electric motor and a structural scheme of a power plant when building an electric tractor of a small traction class. When solving the set goal, atechnique was used that allowed to analyze the existing electric motors used in electric drives of related industries, as well as a technical substantiation of the schematic solution of the power plant of an electric tractor was performed. The result is a justified choice of a synchronous motor with permanent magnets, a synchronous jet motor and an asynchronous motor, as those that should be implemented in an electric tractor. The practical significance of the work lies in the technicaljustification of the choice of a circuit solution for the formation of an electric power plant for low-power tractors.

Abstract:The current development and situation of electric vehicle battery charging station are introduced and analyzed, and a design scheme of mobile power station for electric vehicles is presented. The mobile power station for electric vehicles in this scheme can directly get electricity to drive the electromotor from the electricity supply grid for electric vehicles or oil dual-mode electric drive motor-powered vehicles, and it can also charge the battery of electric vehicles in the driving process of vehicles. Power management system that includes the managements of the information of identifying the custom, energy metering, self-management of pricing and settling accounts and warning to custom is core design of mobile power station for electric vehicles, which is the key to realize the function of the mobile power station that automatically provides electricity without manpower. The design of hardware and software for the system is expatiated in this paper, which includes circuit design of the modules of data collecting, transmitting and processing based on IC cards and single-chip technology, the software system and the main programs to realize the functions of the system.

Abstract:Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) charging systems can cause eddy loss on the steel part and the chassis of an Electric Vehicle (EV). To study different shielding structures' influence on the transmission efficiency of a WPT system, boundary conditions and assumptions of the WPT model in a quasistationary electromagnetic field were established and a finite element method (FEM) was adopted. The shielding effectiveness of ferrite plate and annular aluminum plate were investigated as well as their effects on the coupling coefficient of WPT. It was found that, the setting of ferrite core enhanced the transmission field strength, improved the coupling between two coils, and increased transmit power as well as the actual eddy loss. The actual necessary shielding-area was not confined into the samesize area but distributed around the edge of the ferrite. By arranging specialized size annular aluminum plates between the chassis and ferrite core, the eddy loss can be effectively shielded and an optimal transmission efficiency can breached with an acceptable coupling coefficient decrease. The optimized ferrite bar structure and its EMC characteristics were also studied. It was also found that with equal volume, the optimized ferrite bar structure had better performance in EMC and coupling enhancement than the full ferrite plate.
Quantitative Comparative Study on Battery Selection for Micro Short-distance Electric Vehicles

Abstract:This paper examines the battery type selection which is one of the most controversial issues of the current policy on low-speed electric vehicles. The cost of lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries were quantified respectively from purchase and use,and the impact of lithium battery performance and cost changes was analyzed. Through comparison,it is found that,in the aspect of purchase cost,under the current market and technical conditions,the use of lead-acid batteries has a certain cost advantage when compared to the use of lithium-ion batteries in low-speed electric vehicles,and the cruising range has a great influence on the gap in purchase cost. However,over time,the cost advantage of lead-acid batteries will gradually weaken,and the two will be basically equivalent after 2020. In terms of cost of use,lead-acid batteries are inherently disadvantaged due to their short life span. Finally,based on the comparison results,the recommendations for battery type selection for low-speed electric vehiclesare given.

Abstract:Abstract The electric road system (ERS) is an emerging technology to support decarbonisation of heavy good vehicles (HGVs). The reliability of the traction power supply system (TPSS) for an electric road is a key consideration in ERS planning and maintenance, but since the development of ERS is still at its early stage, the reliability study of different ERS systems has not been fully researched. This paper fills this research gap. It first analyses the potential operation risks of three different ERS systems using the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) method. Then, a fault tree model is built to analyse the overall reliability of the traction power supply system of each of the three ERS types and to identify the weak links. Furthermore, the overall failure rate and reliability indicators are obtained by combining the possible failures of both the electric and non- electric components of the TPSS. Finally, based on the analysis of the potential risks and the corresponding reliability indicators, the advantages and disadvantages of different ERS solutions and the future development prospects are discussed.

Abstract:Planetary gears (PGs) have been used in power-split hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, sometimes with clutches to enable multimode operations. Chevrolet Volt is a well-known production vehicle using such technologies; it achieves excellent performance in both charge-depleting (CD) and charge-sustaining modes. In this paper, a detailed analysis of the General Motors (GM) Voltec powertrain used in the 2016 Chevrolet Volt (Volt Gen 2) is presented. We search through a large topological space, which includes a total of around 1 million design candidates to find different powertrain layouts that achieve the same or better acceleration and fuel economy in comparison with the benchmark: a simulated Volt Gen 2. The key technologies enabling such large-scale design exercise are discussed, and preliminary findings are reported. The case study results show that 49 designs achieve better charge-sustaining, CD, and launching performances than the benchmark, which clearly demonstrated the value of the proposed design methodology.
