Pharmaceutical care for a patient with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma

Abstract:Objective:To explore the way and entry point of pharmaceutical care for a patient with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma carried out by clinical pharmacists.Methods:Clinical pharmacists in Hematology department participate in the whole process of treatment for a patient with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma.We focus on the pharmacotherapy problems in the whole process of chemotherapy and carry out professional pharmaceutical care.Results:Clinical pharmacists closely monitor the possible adverse drug reactions during the chemotherapy,adjust anti-infection drug treatment,carry out medication education for patient and his family members.We apply professional pharmaceutical care to ensure the safety,effectiveness and rationality of drug use.Conclusion:The pharmaceutical care for patients with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma carried by clinical pharmacists is conducive to ensuremedication safety and promote rational clinical drug use.
