Application of tracer method on emergency and life support medical equipment

Abstract:Objectives:To explore the status quo and problems of emergency and life support medical equipment management and to give some advices for further improvement.Methods:Literature review,experts consultation,questionnaire and tracer method were joint used and data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0.Results:There is low awareness on admission and allocation,operation and maintenance of emergency and life support equipment.Problems such as ambiguous definition and operation guideline,lack of quantity management concept and the blocked emergency allocation also existed.Conclusions:It needs to put tracer test tool as a regular management method in emergency and life support equipment management,revising annual management plan based on risk assessment results,completing emergency allocation mechanism under the consideration of cost benefit analysis,strengthening staff operation training and assessment and using information system improving management efficiency to promote emergency and life support equipment management and secure patient safety.
