Abstract:Transposons have been widely used for gene isolation and gene cloning as insertional mutagens or molecular tagging. Furthermore, due to special characteristics of transposons, transposons techniques will be a powerful tool for new gene discovery and gene functional analysis. This paper reviewed the developments of plant transposons in gene isolating and cloning, as well as its use in studying gene function in plant.
