In order to reduce its nonlinearity, inversion usually begins with low frequency components. The wavenumber component of the model is not only related to frequency, but also to scattering angle. Large scattering angle corresponds to low wavenumber information and small scattering angle corresponds to high wavenumber information. Therefore, inversion from large angle components is helpful to reduce its nonlinearity. In the initial stage of inversion, filtering the small scattering-angle information out can effectively prevent the updating of the large-wavenumber model components, so as to avoid the adverse effects of the information on the subsequent inversion. In this paper, angle-based filtering is applied to full waveform inversion to realize the joint inversion of diving and reflected waves to retrieve the low wavenumber component of model. Simple one-reflector case and sparse Marmousi model show the effectiveness of this method.Presentation Date: Tuesday, September 17, 2019Session Start Time: 1:50 PMPresentation Time: 3:30 PMLocation: Poster Station 8Presentation Type: PosterKeywords: full-waveform inversion, filtering, common anglePermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3216332.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2019ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2019 Pages: 5407 publication data© 2019 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 10 Aug 2019 CITATION INFORMATION Guang Zhu, Xiaohong Chen, Jingye Li, Wei Song, Kangkang Guo, and Pu Wang, (2019), "Angle-domain filter based full waveform inversion of diving waves and reflected waves," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 1620-1624. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3216332.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsfull-waveform inversionfilteringcommon anglePDF DownloadLoading ...
