Research Progress on the Impacts of Tourism on Social Relation of Destination in China

Abstract:As the tourism burgeons and the number of tourists proliferates,the role of tourism in the social relations of destinations is becoming more and more significant,which has attracted tremendous attention in academia.This paper is a comprehensive and detailed review of domestic researches,and the rcscarches are classified into three stages (the starter,preliminary and acceleration) according to the number of literatures and contents.Then certain conclusions are drawn on the tourism's impacts on the family relations,neighborhood and business networks.It argues that though some studies have been done,some problems should be noted:on the level of analysis,the empirical analysis should be done better in its theoretical parts;on the research methods,while qualitative methods are predominant,quantitative analyses are rare in comparison;on the particular knowledge contribution,efforts should be paid to integrate fragmented knowledge into system.Thus,further researches should be strengthened as follows:developing new theory frames and focusing on the need of practical applications,improving evaluation methods and measure models,utilizing system theories and benefiting from inter-disciplinary studies.
