Abstract:The following semi-linear elliptic equations involving Hardy–Sobolev critical exponents −Δu−μux2=u2*s−2xsu+g(x,u),x∈Ω∖0,u=0,x∈∂Ω have been investigated, where Ω is an open-bounded domain in RNN≥3, with a smooth boundary ∂Ω, 0∈Ω,0≤μ<μ ̄:=N−222,0≤s<2, and 2*s=2N−s/N−2 is the Hardy–Sobolev critical exponent. This problem comes from the study of standing waves in the anisotropic Schrödinger equation; it is very important in the fields of hydrodynamics, glaciology, quantum field theory, and statistical mechanics. Under some deterministic conditions on g, by a detailed estimation of the extremum function and using mountain pass lemma with PSc conditions, we obtained that: (a) If μ≤μ ̄−1, and λ<λ1μ, then the above problem has at least a positive solution in H01Ω; (b) If μ ̄−1<μ<μ ̄,then when λ*μ<λ<λ1μ, the above problem has at least a positive solution in H01Ω; (c) if μ ̄−1<μ<μ ̄ and Ω=B(0,R), then the above problem has no positive solution for λ≤λ*μ. These results are extensions of E. Jannelli's research (g(x,u)=λu).

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of nontrivial solutions to the critical fractional elliptic system on the Heisenberg group: $$ \begin{gathered} \begin{cases} (-\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^{n}})^{s} u +\gamma u=\lambda f(\xi)|u|^{r-2} u+ \frac{2 \alpha}{\alpha+\beta}|u|^{\alpha-2} u|v|^{\beta} & \text { in } \Omega, \\ (-\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^{n}})^{s} v+\nu v= \mu g(\xi)|v|^{r-2} v+\frac{2 \beta} {\alpha+\beta}|u|^{\alpha}|v|^{\beta-2} v & \text { in } \Omega, \\ u = v =0 & \text { in } \mathbb{H}^{n} \setminus \Omega,\end{cases} \end{gathered} $$ where ${\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^{n}}}$ is the Kohn-Laplacian, $s \in(0,1)$, $ Q > 2 s$ and $\Omega\subset\mathbb{H}^{n}$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary. $\lambda, \mu,\gamma,\nu$ are positive real parameters and $ Q=2n+2$ is the homogeneous dimension of ${\mathbb{H}^{n}}$. The exponent $r$ satisfies $1 < r < 2^{*}_{s}$, $\alpha > 1, \beta > 1$ satisfy $2 < \alpha+\beta=2_{s}^{*}$, $2_{s}^{*}= 2Q/(Q-2s)$ being the fractional critical Sobolev exponent. The results presented here extend or complete recent papers and are new to critical fractional elliptic system on Heisenberg group.

Abstract:We give an explicit description of polynomial growth solutions to some sub-elliptic operators of divergence form with [Formula: see text]-periodic coefficients on the Heisenberg group, where the periodicity has to be meant with respect to the Heisenberg geometry. We show that the polynomial growth solutions are necessarily polynomials with [Formula: see text]-periodic coefficients. We also prove the Liouville-type theorem for the Dirichlet problem to these sub-elliptic equations on an unbounded domain on the Heisenberg group, show that any bounded solution to the Dirichlet problem must be constant.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the subelliptic nonlocal Brezis-Nirenberg problem on stratified Lie groups involving critical nonlinearities, namely, \begin{align*} (-\Delta_{\mathbb{G}, p})^s u&= \mu |u|^{p_s^*-2}u+\lambda h(x, u) \quad \text{in}\quad \Omega, \\ u&=0\quad \text{in}\quad \mathbb{G}\backslash \Omega, \end{align*} where $(-\Delta_{\mathbb{G}, p})^s$ is the fractional $p$-sub-Laplacian on a stratified Lie group $\mathbb{G}$ with homogeneous dimension $Q,$ $\Omega$ is an open bounded subset of $\mathbb{G},$ $s \in (0,1)$, $\frac{Q}{s}>p\geq2,$ $p_s^*:=\frac{pQ}{Q-ps}$ is subelliptic fractional Sobolev critical exponent, $\mu, \lambda>0$ are real parameters and $h$ is a lower order perturbation of the critical power $|u|^{p_s^*-2}u$. Utilising direct methods of the calculus of variation, we establish the existence of at least one weak solution for the above problem under the condition that the real parameter $\lambda$ is sufficiently small. Additionally, we examine the problem for $\mu = 0$, representing subelliptic nonlocal equations on stratified Lie groups depending on one real positive parameter and involving a subcritical nonlinearity. We demonstrate the existence of at least one solution in this scenario as well. We emphasize that the results obtained here are also novel for $p=2$ even for the Heisenberg group.

Abstract:We consider a slightly subcritical elliptic system with Dirichlet boundary conditions and a non-power nonlinearity in a bounded smooth domain. For this problem, standard compact embeddings cannot be used to guarantee the existence of solutions as in the case of power-type nonlinearities. Instead, we use the dual method on Orlicz spaces, showing that our problem possesses a mountain pass type solution.

Abstract:We investigate the following Kirchhoff-Hénon type equation involving the critical Sobolev exponent with Dirichlet boundary condition: \[ - \bigg( a + b \bigg( \int_\Omega \lvert Du \rvert^2 dx \bigg)^{(p-2)/2} \bigg) \Delta u = \Psi u^{q-1} + \lvert x \rvert^\alpha u^{2^* - 1} \] in $\Omega$ included in a unit ball under several conditions. Here, $a, b \geq 0$, $a + b > 0$, $2 < p < q < 2^*$ and $\Psi \in L^\infty(\Omega) \setminus \{ 0 \}$ is a given non-negative function with several conditions. We show that, if either $N = 3$ with $4 < q < 2^* = 6$ or $N \geq 4$, there exists a positive solution for small $\alpha \geq 0$. Our methods includes the mountain pass theorem and the Talenti function.

We consider the following problem involving Hardy–Sobolev critical exponents: (P) {[ Δ u+λu^p/|x|^s_1+u^2^*(s_2)-1/|x|^s_2=0 in Ω ,; u(x)>0 in Ω ; u(x)=0 on ∂Ω , ]. where 0≤ s_1<2, 0≤ s_2< 2, 2^*(s_2):=2(N-s_2)/N-2, 0λ∈ℝ, 1≤ p≤ 2^*(s_1)-1 , and with choices of exponents and parameters corresponding to cases in which (P) has not been before investigated. We prove the existence of positive solutions, which, in some cases, are also shown to be ground states. We remark that we give a first partial answer to a question proposed by Li and Lin (Arch Ration Mech Anal 203(3):943–968, 2012 ).
