Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new homogenization algorithm, virtual clustering analysis (VCA), as well as provide a mathematical framework for the recently proposed self-consistent clustering analysis (SCA) (Liu et al. in Comput Methods Appl Mech Eng 306:319–341, 2016 ). In the mathematical theory, we clarify the key assumptions and ideas of VCA and SCA, and derive the continuous and discrete Lippmann–Schwinger equations. Based on a key postulation of “once response similarly, always response similarly”, clustering is performed in an offline stage by machine learning techniques (k-means and SOM), and facilitates substantial reduction of computational complexity in an online predictive stage. The clear mathematical setup allows for the first time a convergence study of clustering refinement in one space dimension. Convergence is proved rigorously, and found to be of second order from numerical investigations. Furthermore, we propose to suitably enlarge the domain in VCA, such that the boundary terms may be neglected in the Lippmann–Schwinger equation, by virtue of the Saint-Venant’s principle. In contrast, they were not obtained in the original SCA paper, and we discover these terms may well be responsible for the numerical dependency on the choice of reference material property. Since VCA enhances the accuracy by overcoming the modeling error, and reduce the numerical cost by avoiding an outer loop iteration for attaining the material property consistency in SCA, its efficiency is expected even higher than the recently proposed SCA algorithm.

Abstract:Due to the existence of multiple views in many real-world data sets, multi-view clustering is increasingly popular. Many approaches have been investigated, among which the subspace clustering methods finding the underlying subspaces of data have been developed recently. Although the subspace-based multi-view methods can achieve promising performance, the shared subspace information has not been fully utilized. To address this problem, a novel multi-view clustering model by simultaneously learning shared subspace and affinity matrix is proposed. In our method, a shared subspace is learned to preserve the effective consensus information of all views. Then, a subspace-based affinity matrix with adaptive neighbors is learned to assign the most suitable cluster to each data point. An iterative strategy is developed for solving this problem. Moreover, experiments on four benchmark data sets demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms other state-of-the-art algorithms.

Abstract:Virtual clustering analysis (VCA) is an effective data-driven numerical homogenization method. In its original version (Tang et al. in Comput Mech 62(6):1443–1460, 2018), a homogeneous reference material is selected, and the governing system of heterogeneous material is reformulated into a Lippmann–Schwinger equation. For effective treatment of representative volume element (RVE) where long fibers penetrate the matrix, we propose to introduce an inhomogeneous reference material in this work. Since analytical expressions are not available in general, the interaction tensor and reference strain field are computed numerically. We validate the consistency with the original version of VCA in the first example, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy by several numerical examples. While better resolving the boundary traction, the proposed virtual clustering analysis for long fiber reinforced composites (VCA-L) algorithm correctly predicts homogenized properties in numerical tests.

Abstract:Virtual clustering analysis (VCA) is a reduced-order method for numerical homogenization. We formulate VCA for finite strain problems, illustrate its implementation, and provide numerical codes for free download and perusal. Comparison for four test examples shows that both VCA and Self-consistent clustering analysis (SCA) excellently approximate FFT-based direct numerical simulation (DNS) results, yet at much reduced numerical expenses. VCA is actually even faster in the online stage.

Abstract:Virtual clustering analysis (VCA) has been developed for numerical homogenization of heterogeneous material. The integral form of the material system is the Lippmann–Schwinger equation, which imposes boundary condition at infinity for fictitious surrounding homogeneous reference material. The artificially chosen reference stiffness induces a distribution for traction on the material boundary. The deviation from a uniform loading traction boundary condition degrades the accuracy in predicting the average stiffness of the material under consideration. In this work, we suggest that the induced traction should be within one standard deviation from the loading traction, and propose an adaptive strategy to update the reference stiffness. Numerical tests for inclusion problems with elasto-plasticity compositions verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Abstract:With the widespread use of spatial data technologies, enormous and complex spatial data have been accumulated, thus the traditional GIS (Geographic Information Systems) spatial analysis methods are confronted with great challenges. Therefore, we need a new spatial analysis method of data-driven rather than model-driven, exploratory rather than reasoning. Spatial clustering, which groups similar spatial objects into classes such that the intra-cluster similarity is maximized and the inter-cluster similarity is minimized, is an important method of spatial data mining([1]). In the article, by virtue of Delaunay diagram, we propose a spatial clustering algorithm, which incorporates spatial relationships with non-spatial attribute. Then the objects whose characters are less obvious are classified into clusters that are more obvious and the precondition is that they are neighbouring, namely they must share the same Delaunay edge. Along with rescaling, the same spatial object presents different states of distribution. We show via experiment of a synthetic data set that our algorithm can integrate spatial relationships and non-spatial attribute. The obtained clustering result is highly consistent with that perceived by human eyes and is capable of recognizing clusters of arbitrary shape.

Abstract:As an important component of data mining, Cluster Analysis (CA) has being attached importance to artificial intelligence, machine learning and other fields. Traditional clustering methods have been studied for a relatively long time; their technologies are mature and consequently they are well-applied. However, they are insufficient in clustering accuracy, noise sensitivity, along with effect on mass of data and non-convex clustering. Granular computing, which is regarded as a label of theories, methodologies, techniques, and tools, is an emerging conceptual and computing par information processing. It plays an important role information processing for fuzzy, uncertainty, partial truth and soft computing and is one of the main study stream in A.I. This paper introduces some new clustering methods, such as Fuzzy clustering, Clustering Algorithm Based on Rough Set, and clustering algorithm based on quotient space theory, emphatically expounds the basic thought and typical algorithms of these methods, and comparative analysis is carried out among these methods. Finally, new clustering algorithms are prospected and we put forward the value of research direction.

Abstract:Based on sampling theory, a new visual clustering algorithm was proposed. Combining the sampling theory, Weber law with clustering structure effectively, the main idea of this method is to consider the attractors corresponding to the differential functions of the sampling theory as the center of the cluster with the datum in the attraction domain as the members of the corresponding cluster. The simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the new clustering method.

Abstract:In recent years, multi-view clustering algorithms have achieved promising performance by exploiting the com-plementarity and consistency of different views. However, many multi-view spectral clustering methods only focus on the con-sistent information of views, and the time cost of feature decomposition is expensive. Moreover, these methods also require post-processing (e.g., k-means) to obtain the final clustering results. To overcome these limitations simultaneously, we propose a novel multi-view clustering algorithm. Firstly, the method removes the inconsistent information of the views through cross-view measurement to maintain consistent information. These inconsistencies may be caused by noise, corruptions, or view-specific properties and will affect the quality of the similarity matrix. Then, we learn a consensus embedding matrix with non-negative constraints by performing a low-rank decomposition of the consistency information. In this way, we can replace the eigendecomposition of the n × n Laplacian matrix in spectral clustering with the singular value decomposition of a n × c low-rank matrix to reduce the computational burden, where c ≪ n. Furthermore, due to the non-negative constraint, we can directly obtain the clustering results. Also, to consider the diversity of views, adaptive weighting is applied to different view data. Compared to state-of-the-art multi-view clustering methods on five benchmark multi-view datasets, we demonstrate the superiority and effectiveness of our approach. Abstract:Multi-view clustering, which aims at boosting the clustering performance by leveraging the individual information and the common information of multi-view data, has gained extensive consideration in recent years. However, most existing multi-view clustering algorithms either focus on extracting the multi-view individuality or emphasize on exploring the multi-view commonality, neither of which can fully utilize the comprehensive information from multiple views. To this end, we propose a novel algorithm named V iew-specific and C onsensus G raph A lignment (VCGA) for multi-view clustering, which simultaneously formulates the multi-view individuality and the multi-view commonality into a unified framework to effectively partition data points. To be specific, the VCGA model constructs the view-specific graphs and the shared graph from original multi-view data and hidden latent representation, respectively. Furthermore, the view-specific graphs of different views and the consensus graph are aligned into an informative target graph, which is employed as a crucial input to the standard spectral clustering method for clustering. Extensive experimental results on six benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method against other state-of-the-art clustering algorithms.

Abstract:As a reduced order homogenization approach, the FEM-Cluster based reduced order Analysis method (FCA) proposed by Cheng et al. provides an efficient approach to predict the nonlinear effective properties of heterogeneous materials. In its improved version, the clustered Minimum Complementary Energy (MCE) approach is adopted for the computations of incremental strain–stress relation. This work mainly focuses on the mathematical foundations of FCA with clustered MCE. The completeness of the interaction matrix as the clustered self-equilibrium stress space is proved, and the prediction error of FCA solution is analyzed. The deductions also reveal that some bases of the clustered self-equilibrium stress space denoted by the interaction matrix may contradict the basic hypothesis of the cluster-based reduce order methods, and they are mainly responsible for the error of FCA. According to this observation, a spectral analysis algorithm is developed to refine the interaction matrix and improve the accuracy of FCA.

A New Clustering Algorithm Based on Flocking with Virtual Leaders

Abstract:A modified flocking model with virtual leaders is proposed, and then a clustering algorithm based on it is developed. In the algorithm, firstly a weighted and undirected graph is established by all data points in a dataset according to the model, where each data point is regarded as an agent who can move in space. Then a set of virtual leaders are identified, from which γ virtual leaders are chosen and linked by each data point. Furthermore, each data point is acted by all linked data points through fields established by them in space, so it will take a step along the direction of the vector sum of all fields. Thanks to those virtual leaders, they accelerate the rate of convergence of the algorithm. As all data points move in space according to the proposed model, data points that belong to the same class are located at a same position, whereas those that belong to other classes are away from one another. Consequently, the experimental results demonstrate that data points in datasets are clustered reasonably and efficiently, and in several iterations the convergence of the algorithm will be reached. Moreover, the comparison with other algorithms also provides an indication of the effectiveness of proposed approach.

Abstract:Recently proposed clustering-based methods provide an efficient way for homogenizing heterogeneous materials, yet without concerning the detailed distribution of the mechanical responses. With coarse fields of the clustering-based methods as an initial guess, we develop an iteration strategy to fastly and accurately resolve the displacement, strain and stress based on the Lippmann-Schwinger equation, thereby benefiting the local mechanical analysis such as the detection of the stress concentration. From a simple elastic case, we explore the convergence of the method and give an instruction for the selection of the reference material. Numerical tests show the efficiency and fast convergence of the reconstruction method in both elastic and hyper-elastic materials.

Abstract:In order to classify the objectives with complex attributes,a novel mixed-scale clustering model is proposed after analyzing the limitation of both interval scales and nominal scale for clustering.This model is based on Minkowski's distance and flip distance,and its convergence is proved with under criterion function and stepwise-clustering algorithm.Sample data collected form a security early-warning system of neighborhoods is used to verify the model with Matlab software.The results show that the model is valid to classify the objectives with complex attributes.

Abstract:Nowadays, most fuzzy clustering algorithms are sensitive to the initialization results of clustering algorithms and have a weak ability to handle high-dimensional data. To solve these problems, we developed the viewpoint-driven subspace fuzzy c-means (VSFCM) algorithm. Firstly, we propose a new cut-off distance. Based on this, we establish the cut-off distance-induced clustering initialization (CDCI) method and use it as a new strategy for cluster center initialization and viewpoint selection. Secondly, by taking the viewpoint obtained by CDCI as the entry point of knowledge, a new fuzzy clustering strategy driven by knowledge and data is formed. Based upon these, we put forward the VSFCM algorithm combined with viewpoints, separation terms, and subspace fuzzy feature weights. Moreover, compared with the symmetric weights obtained by other subspace clustering algorithms, the weights of the VSFCM algorithm exhibit significant asymmetry. That is, they assign greater weights to features that contribute more, which is validated on the artificial dataset DATA2 in the experimental section. The experimental results compared with multiple advanced clustering algorithms on the three types of datasets validate that the proposed VSFCM algorithm has the best performance in five indicators. It is demonstrated that the initialization method CDCI is more effective, the feature weight allocation of VSFCM is more consistent with the asymmetry of experimental data, and it can achieve better convergence speed while displaying better clustering efficiency.

Abstract:In this letter, a real-time C-V (Characteristic-Vector) clustering algorithm is put forth to treat with vast action data which are dynamically collected from web site. The algorithm cites the concept of C-V to denote characteristic, synchronously it adopts two-value [0,1] input and self-definition vigilance parameter to design clustering-architecture. Vector Degree of Matching (VDM) plays a key role in the clustering algorithm, which determines the magnitude of typical characteristic. Making use of stability analysis, the classifications are confirmed to have reliably hierarchical structure when vigilance parameter shifts from 0.1 to 0.99. This non-linear relation between vigilance parameter and classification upper limit helps mining out representative classifications from net-users according to the actual web resource, then administering system can map them to web resource space to implement the intelligent configuration effectually and rapidly.
View-shuffled clustering via the modified Hungarian algorithm

Abstract:In the majority of existing multi-view clustering methods, the prerequisite is that the data have the correct cross-view correspondence. However, this strong assumption may not always hold in real-world applications, giving rise to the so-called View-shuffled Problem (VsP). To address this challenge, we propose a novel multi-view clustering method, namely View-shuffled Clustering via the Modified Hungarian Algorithm (VsC-mH). Specifically, we first establish the cross-view correspondence of the shuffled data utilizing strategies of the global alignment and modified Hungarian algorithm (mH) based intra-category alignment. Subsequently, we generate the partition of the aligned data employing matrix factorization. The fusion of these two processes facilitates the interaction of information, resulting in improved quality of both data alignment and partition. VsC-mH is capable of handling the data with alignment ratios ranging from 0 to 100%. Both experimental and theoretical evidence guarantees the convergence of the proposed optimization algorithm. Extensive experimental results obtained on six practical datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed method.

Abstract:A new clustering algorithms based on culture algorithms is proposed after analyzing the disadvantages of the Fuzzy C Mean(FCM).Cultural algorithms has the feature of dual inheritance systems.It can obtain the knowledge(belief) of solved questions from Population Space to guide the searching process,so it has greater searching capability globally.By comparison results,a new clustering algorithms based on culture algorithms,to a certain extent,can avoid the sensitivity of initial value and the weakness of easily got struck in local optimum.Experiments show that new algorithms has highly clustering results and a relatively low compulational cost.
