Abstract:We prove well-posedness results for stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations with linear multiplicative Wiener noise, including the nonconservative case. Our approach is different from the standard literature on stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations. By a rescaling transformation we reduce the stochastic equation to a random nonlinear Schrödinger equation with lower-order terms and treat the resulting equation by a fixed point argument based on generalizations of Strichartz estimates proved by Marzuola et al. (J Funct Anal 255(6):1479–1553, 2008). This approach makes it possible to improve earlier well-posedness results obtained in the conservative case by a direct approach to the stochastic Schrödinger equation. In contrast to the latter, we obtain well-posedness in the full range $[1, 1 + 4/d)$ of admissible exponents in the nonlinear part (where $d$ is the dimension of the underlying Euclidean space), i.e., in exactly the same range as in the deterministic case.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of noise effects on blow-up solutions to stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations. It is a continuation of our recent work [2], where the (local) well-posedness is established in H1, also in the non-conservative critical case. Here we prove that in the non-conservative focusing mass-(super)critical case, by adding a large multiplicative Gaussian noise, with high probability one can prevent the blow-up on any given bounded time interval [0,T], 0<T<∞. Moreover, in the case of spatially independent noise, the explosion even can be prevented with high probability on the whole time interval [0,∞). The noise effects obtained here are completely different from those in the conservative case studied in [5].

Abstract:The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of nonlinear multiplicative noise on the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equation in the non-radial case. Local well-posedness follows from estimates related to the stochastic convolution and deterministic non-radial Strichartz estimates. Furthermore, the blow-up criterion is presented. Then, with the help of Itô’s lemma and stopping time arguments, the global solution is constructed almost surely. The main innovation is that the non-radial global solution is given under fractional-order derivatives and a nonlinear noise term.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with fully discrete finite element approximations of a stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger (sNLS) equation with linear multiplicative noise of the Stratonovich type. The goal of studying the sNLS equation is to understand the role played by the noises for a possible delay or prevention of the collapsing and/or blow-up of the solution to the sNLS equation. In the paper we first carry out a detailed analysis of the properties of the solution which lays down a theoretical foundation and guidance for numerical analysis, we then present a family of three-parameters fully discrete finite element methods which differ mainly in their time discretizations and contains many well-known schemes (such as the explicit and implicit Euler schemes and the Crank-Nicolson scheme) with different combinations of time discetization strategies. The prototypical \begin{document}$ \theta $\end{document} -schemes are analyzed in detail and various stability properties are established for its numerical solution. An extensive numerical study and performance comparison are also presented for the proposed fully discrete finite element schemes.

Abstract:Here is investigated the bilinear optimal control problem of quantum mechanical systems with final observation governed by a stochastic nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation perturbed by a linear multiplicative Wiener process. The existence of an open loop optimal control and first order Lagrange optimality conditions are derived, via Skorohod's representation theorem, Ekeland's variational principle and the existence for the linearized dual backward stochastic equation. Moreover, our approach in particular applies to the deterministic case.

Abstract:We study the stochastic nonlinear Schroedinger equations with linear multiplicative noise, particularly in the defocusing mass-critical and energy-critical cases. For general initial data, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of solutions in both cases. When the quadratic variation of noise is globally bounded, we also obtain the rescaled scattering behavior of solutions in the spaces L^2, H^1 as well as the pseudo-conformal space. Moreover, the Stroock-Varadhan type theorem for the topological support of solutions are also obtained in the Strichartz and local smoothing spaces.

Abstract:We prove the pathwise Strichartz and local smoothing estimates for a general class of stochastic dispersive equations with linear multiplicative noise, including especially the stochastic Schrodinger and Airy equations. The upper bounds and high integrability of random constants in these estimates are also obtained. These estimates have several applications to stochastic nonlinear problems, including the pathwise well-posedness and P-integrability of solutions. Furthermore, the large deviation principle for the small noise asymptotics is derived for both the stochastic inhomoge-neous dispersive equations and stochastic nonlinear Schrodinger equations with variable coefficients. The crucial point of proof is the invariance of the principal symbol under the Doss-Sussman type transformation. The lower order perturbations are controlled by the pseudodifferential calculus and semimartingale properties of stochastic homogeneous solutions.

Abstract:In this paper we prove global existence and uniqueness of solutions to the stochastic logarithmic Schrödinger equation with linear multiplicative noise. Our approach is mainly based on the rescaling approach and the method of maximal monotone operators. In addition, uniform estimates of solutions in the energy space H1(Rd) and in an appropriate Orlicz space are also obtained here.

Abstract:We study optimal control problems for stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations in both the mass subcritical and critical case. For general initial data of the minimal $$L^2$$ regularity, we prove the existence and first order Lagrange condition of an open loop control. In particular, these results apply to the stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations with the critical quintic and cubic nonlinearities in dimensions one and two, respectively. Furthermore, we obtain uniform estimates of (backward) stochastic solutions in new spaces of type $$U^2$$ and $$V^2$$, adapted to evolution operators related to linear Schrödinger equations with lower order perturbations. These estimates yield a new temporal regularity of (backward) stochastic solutions, which is crucial for the tightness of approximating controls induced by Ekeland’s variational principle.

Abstract:We consider the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the $d$-dimensional torus $\mathbb T^d$, with the nonlinearity of polynomial type $|u|^{2\sigma}u$. For any $\sigma \in \mathbb N$ and $s>\frac d2$ we prove that adding to this equation a suitable stochastic forcing term there exists a unique global solution for any initial data in $H^s(\mathbb T^d)$. The effect of the noise is to prevent blow-up in finite time, differently from the deterministic setting. Moreover we prove existence of invariant measures and their uniqueness under more restrictive assumptions on the noise term.

Abstract:We establish the stochastic Strichartz estimate for the fractional Schrödinger equation with multiplicative noise. With the help of the deterministic Strichartz estimates, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a global solution to the stochastic fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation in $L^2(\mathbb{R}^n)$. In addition, we also prove a general blow up result by deriving a localized virial estimate and the generalized Strauss inequality with a restricted class of initial data.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the well-posedness of the weakly damped stochastic nonlinear Schr\"odinger(NLS) equation driven by multiplicative noise. First, we show the global existence of the unique solution for the damped stochastic NLS equation in critical case. Meanwhile, the exponential integrability of the solution is proved, which implies the continuous dependence on the initial data. Then, we analyze the effect of the damped term and noise on the blow-up phenomenon. By modifying the associated energy, momentum and variance identity, we deduce a sharp blow-up condition for damped stochastic NLS equation in supercritical case. Moreover, we show that when the damped effect is large enough, the damped effect can prevent the blow-up of the solution with high probability.

Abstract:The authors investigate the influence of a harmonic potential and random perturbations on the nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The local and global well-posedness are proved with values in the space Σ(ℝ n ) = { f ∈ H 1 (ℝ n ), |·| f ∈ L 2 (ℝ n )}. When the nonlinearity is focusing and L 2 -supercritical, the authors give sufficient conditions for the solutions to blow up in finite time for both confining and repulsive potential. Especially for the repulsive case, the solution to the deterministic equation with the initial data satisfying the stochastic blow-up condition will also blow up in finite time. Thus, compared with the deterministic equation for the repulsive case, the blow-up condition is stronger on average, and depends on the regularity of the noise. If ϕ = 0, our results coincide with the ones for the deterministic equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the noise effects on a class of stochastic evolution equations including the stochastic Camassa- Holm equations with or without rotation. We first obtain the existence, uniqueness and a blow-up criterion of pathwise solutions in Sobolev space Hs with s > 3/2. Then we prove that strong enough noise can prevent blow-up with probability 1, which justifies the regularization effect of strong nonlinear noise in preventing singularities. Besides, such strengths of noise are estimated in different examples. Finally, for the interplay between regularization effect induced by the noise and the dependence on initial conditions, we introduce and investigate the stability of the exiting time and construct an example to show that the multiplicative noise cannot improve both the stability of the exiting time and the continuity of the dependence on initial data simultaneously.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the damped stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with multiplicative noise and its splitting-based approximation. When the damped effect is large enough, we prove that the solutions of both the damped stochastic NLS equation and the splitting scheme are exponentially stable and possess some exponential integrability. These properties show that the strong order of the scheme is $\frac 12$ and independent of time. Additionally, we analyze the regularity of the Kolmogorov equation with respect to the stochastic NLS equation. As a consequence, the weak order of the scheme is shown to be 1 and independent of time.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a pathwise construction of multi-soliton solutions for focusing stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations with linear multiplicative noise, in both the $$L^{2}$$ -critical and subcritical cases. The constructed multi-solitons behave asymptotically as a sum of K solitary waves, where K is any given finite number. Moreover, the convergence rate of the remainders can be of either exponential or polynomial type, which reflects the effects of the noise in the system on the asymptotical behavior of the solutions. The major difficulty in our construction of stochastic multi-solitons is the absence of pseudo-conformal invariance. Unlike in the deterministic case (Merle in Commun Math Phys 129:223–240, 1990; Röckner et al. in Multi-bubble Bourgain–Wang solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger equation, arXiv: 2110.04107 , 2021), the existence of stochastic multi-solitons cannot be obtained from that of stochastic multi-bubble blow-up solutions in Röckner et al. (Multi-bubble Bourgain–Wang solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger equation, arXiv:2110.04107 , 2021), Su and Zhang (On the multi-bubble blow-up solutions to rough nonlinear Schrödinger equations, arXiv:2012.14037v1 , 2020). Our proof is mainly based on the rescaling approach in Herr et al. (Commun Math Phys 368:843–884, 2019), relying on two types of Doss–Sussman transforms, and on the modulation method in Côte and Friederich (Commun Partial Differ Equ 46:2325–2385, 2021), Martel and Merle (Ann Inst H Poincaré Anal Non Linéaire 23:849–864, 2006), in which the crucial ingredient is the monotonicity of the Lyapunov type functional constructed by Martel et al. (Duke Math J 133:405-466, 2006). In our stochastic case, this functional depends on the Brownian paths in the noise.
