Abstract:It is known that many logical algebras can be considered as L-algebras. In this paper, we first construct an effect algebra ( E , ⊕ , 0 , 1 ) that cannot be converted into an L-algebra ( E , → , 0 , 1 ) with negation such that x → 0 is the orthosupplement. Then we prove that every lattice-ordered effect algebra gives rise to an L-algebra with the same orthosupplement. Finally, we characterize LE-L-algebras as lattice-ordered effect algebras. As an application, we extend those results obtained in some recent references for orthomodular lattices and MV-algebras.

Abstract:A difficult question arising in the study of effect algebras is how to equip them with a fitting and proper topology such that the topology is compatible with the partial operations ⊕ and Θ. As we know, the Frink ideal topology is an important intrinsic topology for studying partially ordered set theory; in particular, it is the correct topology for chains and direct products of a finite number of chains. In this paper, we show that the Frink ideal topology is also a nice topology for studying effect-algebra theory since it provides the operations with some of the expected continuity properties.

Abstract:In this paper, first, we answer affirmatively an open problem which was presented in 2005 by professor Gudder on the sub-sequential effect algebras. That is, we prove that if (E, 0, 1, circle plus, o) is a sequential effect algebra and A is a commutative subset of E, then the sub-sequential effect algebra (A) over bar generated by A is also commutative. Next, we also study the following uniqueness problem: If na = nb = c for some positive integer n >= 2, then under what conditions a = b hold? We prove that if c is a sharp element of E and a vertical bar b, then a = b. We give also two examples to show that neither of the above two conditions can be discarded.

Abstract:We introduce rough approximations into basic algebras. After investigating elementary properties of the upper (lower) approximations in basic algebras and discussing the convexity of these two approximations in linearly ordered basic algebras, we generalize related results for MV-algebras, lattice ordered effect algebras, and orthomodular lattices to basic algebras. We also study the relationship between upper (lower) rough ideals of basic algebras and upper (lower) approximations of their homomorphic images.

Abstract:We develop the bialgebra theory for two classes of non-associative algebras: nearly associative algebras and $LR$-algebras. In particular, building on recent studies that reveal connections between these algebraic structures, we establish that nearly associative bialgebras and $LR$-bialgebras are, in fact, equivalent concepts. We also provide a characterization of these bialgebra classes based on the coproduct. Moreover, since the development of nearly associative bialgebras - and by extension, $LR$-bialgebras - requires the framework of nearly associative $L$-algebras, we introduce this class of non-associative algebras and explore their fundamental properties. Furthermore, we identify and characterize a special class of nearly associative bialgebras, the coboundary nearly associative bialgebras, which provides a natural framework for studying the Yang-Baxter equation (YBE) within this context.

Abstract:Recently, a new generalized family of infinite-dimensional algebras, each associated with a particular element of a commutative subalgebra of the algebra, was described. This paper provides a comprehensive account of the aforementioned association, accompanied by the requisite proofs and illustrative examples. This approach allows a derivation of Ward identities for selected WLZZ matrix models and the expansion of corresponding -operators in terms of an infinite set of variables .

Abstract:Here we announce the construction and properties of a big commutative subalgebra of the Kirillov algebra attached to a finite dimensional irreducible representation of a complex semisimple Lie group. They are commutative finite flat algebras over the cohomology of the classifying space of the group. They are isomorphic with the equivariant intersection cohomology of affine Schubert varieties, endowing them with a new ring structure. Study of the finer aspects of the structure of the big algebras will also furnish the stalks of the intersection cohomology with ring structure, thus ringifying Lusztig's q-weight multiplicity polynomials i.e. affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.

Abstract:In this paper, the notions of L-fuzzy subalgebra degree and L-subalgebras on an effect algebra are introduced and some characterizations are given. We use four kinds of cut sets of L-subsets to characterize the L-fuzzy subalgebra degree. We induce an L-fuzzy convexity by the L-fuzzy subalgebra degree, and we prove that a morphism between two effect algebras is an L-fuzzy convexity preserving mapping and a monomorphism is an L-fuzzy convex-to-convex mapping. Finally, it is proved that the set of all L-subalgebras on an effect algebra can form an L-convexity, and its L-convex hull formula is given.

Abstract:Effect algebras were introduced in order to describe the structure of effects, i.e. events in quantum mechanics. They are partial algebras describing the logic behind the corresponding events. It is natural to ask how to introduce the logical connective implication in effect algebras. For lattice-ordered effect algebras this task was already solved by several authors, including the present ones. We concentrate on effect algebras that need not be lattice-ordered since these can better describe the events occurring in the quantum physical system. Although an effect algebra is only partial, we try to find a logical connective implication which is everywhere defined. But such a connective can be "unsharp" or "inexact" because its outputs for given pairs of entries need not be elements of the underlying effect algebra, but may be subsets of (mutually incomparable) maximal elements. We introduce such an implication together with its adjoint functor representing conjunction. Then we consider so-called tense operators on effect algebras. Of course, also these operators turn out to be "unsharp" in the aforementioned sense, but they are in a certain relation with the operators implication and conjunction. Finally, for given tense operators and given time set T , we describe two methods how to construct a time preference relation R on T such that the given tense operators are either comparable with or equivalent to those induced by the time frame ( T , R ).

Abstract:Nongraded simple Lie algebras appear naturally in mathematical physics. In this paper, a new class of nongraded simple Lie algebras are presented based on the pairs (A, D) consisting of a commutative associative unital algebra A and a finite dimensional commutative derivation subalgebra D such that A is D-simple. The isomorphism classes of these nongraded Lie algebras are also determined and the structure space of these algebras is given explicitly.

Abstract:We introduce the concept of a quasiresiduated lattice and prove that every lattice effect algebra can be organized into a commutative quasiresiduated lattice with divisibility. Also conversely, every such a lattice can be converted into a lattice effect algebra and every lattice effct algebra can be reconstructed form its assigned quasiresiduated lattice. We apply this method also for lattice pseudoeffect algebras introduced recently by Dvurecenskij and Vetterlein. We show that every good lattice pseudoeffect algebra can be organized into a (possibly non-commutative) quasiresiduated lattice with divisibility and conversely, every such a lattice can be converted into a lattice pseudoeffect algebra. Moreover, also a good lattice pseudoeffect algebra can be reconstructed from the assigned quasiresiduated lattice.

Abstract:This paper aims to study bounded algebras in another perspective-dual ideals of bounded $ L $-algebras. As the dual concept of ideals in $ L $-algebras, dual ideals are designed to characterize some significant properties of bounded $ L $-algebras. We begin by providing a definition of dual ideals and discussing the relationships between ideals and dual ideals. Then, we prove that these dual ideals induce congruence relations and quotient $ L $-algebras on bounded $ L $-algebras. Naturally, in order to construct the first isomorphism theorem between bounded $ L $-algebras, the relationship between dual ideals and morphisms between bounded $ L $-algebras is investigated and that the kernels of any morphisms between bounded $ L $-algebras are dual ideals is proven. Fortunately, although the first isomorphism theorem between arbitrary bounded $ L $-algebras fails to be proven when using dual ideals, the theorem was proven when the range of morphism was good. Another main purpose of this study is to use dual ideals to characterize several kinds of bounded $ L $-algebras. Therefore, first, the properties of dual ideals in some special bounded $ L $-algebras are studied; then, some special bounded $ L $-algebras are characterized by dual ideals. For example, a good $ L $-algebra is a $ CL $-algebra if and only if every dual ideal is $ C $ dual ideal is proven.

Abstract:It is proved that Zhu's algebra for vertex operator algebra associated to a positive-definite even lattice of rank one is a finite-dimensional semiprimitive quotient algebra of certain associative algebra introduced by Smith. Zhu's algebra for vertex operator algebra associated to any positive-definite even lattice is also calculated and is related to a generalization of Smith's algebra.

Abstract:We prove that the interval topology of an Archimedean atomic lattice effect algebra $E$ is Hausdorff whenever the set of all atoms of $E$ is almost orthogonal. In such a case $E$ is order continuous. If moreover $E$ is complete then order convergence of nets of elements of $E$ is topological and hence it coincides with convergence in the order topology and this topology is compact Hausdorff compatible with a uniformity induced by a separating function family on $E$ corresponding to compact and cocompact elements. For block-finite Archimedean atomic lattice effect algebras the equivalence of almost orthogonality and s-compact generation is shown. As the main application we obtain the state smearing theorem for these effect algebras, as well as the continuity of $\oplus$-operation in the order and interval topologies on them.
On the enumeration of finite $L$-algebras

Abstract:We use Constraint Satisfaction Methods to construct and enumerate finite $L$-algebras up to isomorphism. These objects were recently introduced by Rump and appear in Garside theory, algebraic logic, and the study of the combinatorial Yang-Baxter equation. There are 377322225 isomorphism classes of $L$-algebras of size eight. The database constructed suggest the existence of bijections between certain classes of $L$-algebras and well-known combinatorial objects. On the one hand, we prove that Bell numbers enumerate isomorphism classes of finite linear $L$-algebras. On the other hand, we also prove that finite regular $L$-algebras are in bijective correspondence with infinite-dimensional Young diagrams.

Abstract:Analogous to subfactor theory, employing Watatani's notions of index and $C^*$-basic construction of certain inclusions of $C^*$-algebras, (a) we develop a Fourier theory (consisting of Fourier transforms, rotation maps and shift operators) on the relative commutants of any inclusion of simple unital $C^*$-algebras with finite Watatani index, and (b) we introduce the notions of interior and exterior angles between intermediate $C^*$-subalgebras of any inclusion of unital $C^*$-algebras admitting a finite index conditional expectation. Then, on the lines of [2], we apply these concepts to obtain a bound for the cardinality of the lattice of intermediate $C^*$-subalgebras of any irreducible inclusion as in (a), and improve Longo's bound for the cardinality of intermediate subfactors of an inclusion of type $III$ factors with finite index. Moreover, we also show that for a fairly large class of inclusions of finite von Neumann algebras, the lattice of intermediate von Neumann subalgebras is always finite.
