The Emergence and Source of the Early Causative Disposal Constructions

Abstract:The paper proposes that the early causative disposal constructions did not come from the "jiang" construction, rather, it had begun to take shape from the "yi" construction, and kept growing in the "chi" construction. At last, the causatvie disposal construction finished its grammaticalization as the "jiang" construction and the "ba" construction came into being. The early causative disposal constructions had a variety of control degrees because they originated from different grammatical structures.
