Existence and Concentration Properties of Ground State Solutions for Elliptic Systems

Abstract:This article is concerned with following Hamiltonian elliptic system with gradient term:-epsilon 2 Delta u+epsilon b. backward difference u+u+V(x)v=Q(x)Fv(u,v),-epsilon 2 Delta v-epsilon b. backward difference v+v+V(x)u=Q(x)Fu(u,v),where epsilon is a small positive parameter,bis a constant vector,V, Q is an element of C(RN,R),Vis allowed to be sign-changing andinfQ>0. Using a much more direct approach, we study above system and prove first the existence of ground state solutions for each epsilon is an element of(0,epsilon 0],epsilon 0>0is a constant which depends onN,V,QandF. We consider further the exponential decay and concentration phenomena of ground states for the system. Particularly, we show that these ground states concentrate around a global minimum point of the linear potentialVor a global maximum point of the nonlinear potentialQas epsilon -> 0.
