Abstract:To reveal the community characteristics and functional group diversity's spatial variability of different function areas in Hui River national nature reserves, the combining method of transect and plots was used to do vegetation survey in core region, buffer zone area and experimental zone of Hui River national nature reserve. Three plots (250 x 250 m) with the almost same habitat condition were selected, three transects were selected in each plot and eight quadrats (1 x 1 m) were set in each transect. The spatial variability of indices abundance, species diversity, biomass and living-functional groups in different functional areas were studied The vegetation in study area mainly cover gramineae, compositae, leguminosae, chenopodiaceae and so on; in the core zone and buffer zone, the species of perennial grasses and perennial forbs were much, and for annual herbs, it was few; in the experimental zone, the species of perennial grasses and perennial forbs were marked declined, but it increased for annual herb. From the core zone and buffer zone to experimental zone, the dominance of shrub gradually increased Compared with the core zone, the cumulative dominance of perennial grasses and perennial forbs in buffer zone was no significant difference (p>0.05); in experimental zone, the cumulative dominance of perennial grasses and perennial forbs is very significant (p<0.01), and was lower than it in core zone, however, the cumulative dominance of the annual herbs in three functional areas successively increased The biomass of perennial, grasses and perennial forbs and the total biomass of communities successively decreased from the core zone and buffer zone to experimental zone; the biomass of shrubs and annual herbs in the functional areas successively increased The species richness index (Pa) of buffer zone was the highest, which was significantly higher than it in core zone and experimental zone; The Shannon-Wiener index and Pielou index of buffer zone was no significant with it in core zone.
