Abstract:In the process of seismic wave simulation calculation, a limited calculation area is used to simulate the underground infinite space, and boundary truncation is required. In order to prevent false reflections at the boundary which will affect the simulation results, it is necessary to introduce absorption boundary conditions. The nearly perfectly matched layer (NPML) used in this paper is a new type of non-split perfect matched layer with high computational efficiency. At the same time, it does not change the form of the equation and is easier to implement than other non-split perfectly matched layers. However, when the incident wave angle is large, the boundary absorption effect becomes weak, and the energy remaining in the boundary makes the nearly perfect matched layer extremely unstable. The multiaxial complex frequency shifted-NPML (MCFS-NPML) is proposed to improve the absorption of large angle incident waves and the stability of the boundary. The absorption effect and stability of MCFS-NPML were studied by experimental simulation and matrix eigenvalue sensitivity. The results show that the method can not only absorb the grazing wave, but also improve the absorption of the normal incident wave, and has better stability.
