Abstract:We consider a sequence of blowup solutions of a two dimensional, second order elliptic equation with exponential nonlinearity and singular data. This equation has a rich background in physics and geometry. In a work of Bartolucci-Chen-Lin-Tarantello it is proved that the profile of the solutions differs from global solutions of a Liouville type equation only by a uniformly bounded term. The present paper improves their result and establishes an expansion of the solutions near the blowup points with a sharp error estimate.

The solutions are shown to blow up at exactly the origin. The exact rate of blowing up is also given.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of positive solutions for singular elliptic equations with mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions involving Sobolev-Hardy critical exponents and Hardy terms by using the concentration compactness principle, the strong maximum principle and the Mountain Pass lemma. We also prove, under complementary conditions, that there is no nontrivial solution if the domain is star-shaped with respect to the origin.

Abstract:In this article, we consider non-negative solutions of the homogeneous Dirichlet problems of parabolic equations with local or nonlocal nonlinearities, involving variable exponents. We firstly obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions on the existence of blow-up solutions, and also obtain some Fujita-type conditions in bounded domains. Secondly, the blow-up rates are determined, which are described completely by the maximums of the variable exponents. Thirdly, we show that the blow-up occurs only at a single point for the equations with local nonlinearities, and in the whole domain for nonlocal nonlinearities.

Abstract:This note addresses the initial-boundary value problem for a class of semi-linear pseudo-parabolic equations defined on a smooth bounded domain, with an emphasis on determining the asymptotic behavior and blow-up rate of the solution. Our analysis considers both low-initial energy and critical-initial energy cases, with a specific focus on establishing a lower bound on the maximal existence time of the solutions to this problem.

Abstract:We consider the nonlinear elliptic–parabolic boundary value problem involving the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator of p-Laplace type at the critical Sobolev exponent. We first obtain the existence and asymptotic estimates of the global solution, and the sufficient conditions of finite time blowup of the solution by using the energy method. Second, we improve the regularity of solution by Moser-type iteration. Finally, we analyze the long-time asymptotic behavior of the global solution. Moreover, with the help of the concentration compactness principle, we present a precise description of the concentration phenomenon of the solution in the forward time infinity.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of positive solutions of semilinear elliptic equations . Asymp- totic behavior of ground states and uniqueness of singular ground states are proved via invariant manifold theory of dynamical systems. The Dirichlet problem in exterior domains is also studied. It is proved that this problem has one positive solution with fast decay and infinitely many positive solutions with slow decay. The asymptotics of the singular sequence of fast decay solutions when p approaches to is also discussed.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions of the biharmonic equation $$ \Delta^2 u = u^p~~~~~~~in ~ B_1 \backslash \{0\}$$ with an isolated singularity, where the punctured ball $B_1 \backslash \{0\} \subset \mathbb{R}^n$ with $n\geq 5$ and $\frac{n}{n-4} < p < \frac{n+4}{n-4}$. This equation is relevant for the $Q$-curvature problem in conformal geometry. We classify isolated singularities of positive solutions and describe the asymptotic behavior of positive singular solutions without the sign assumption for $-\Delta u$. We also give a new method to prove removable singularity theorem for nonlinear higher order equations.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we prove that when t tends to infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C-1 travelling wave solutions, provided that L-1 boolean AND L-infinity norm of the initial data as well as its derivative are bounded. Abstract:We characterize the asymptotic behavior near blowup points for positive solutions of the semilinear heat equation \begin{equation*} \partial_t u-\Delta u =f(u), \end{equation*} for nonlinearities which are genuinely non scale invariant, unlike in the standard case $f(u)=u^p$. Indeed, our results apply to a large class of nonlinearities of the form $f(u)=u^pL(u)$, where $p>1$ is Sobolev subcritical and $L$ is a slowly varying function at infinity (which includes for instance logarithms and their powers and iterates, as well as some strongly oscillating functions). More precisely, denoting by $\psi$ the unique positive solution of the corresponding ODE $y'(t)=f(y(t))$ which blows up at the same time $T$, we show that if $a\in\Omega$ is a blowup point of $u$, then \begin{equation*} \lim_{t\to T}\frac{u(a+y\sqrt{T-t},t)}{\psi(t)}= 1,\quad \text{uniformly for $y$ bounded.} \end{equation*} Additional blow-up properties are obtained, including the compactness of the blow-up set for the Cauchy problem with decaying initial data.

Abstract:This paper deals with critical exponents for a doubly degenerate nonlinear parabolic system coupled via local sources and with inner absorptions under null Dirichlet boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain. The author first establishes the comparison principle and local existence theorem for the above problem. Then under appropriate hypotheses, the author proves that the solution either exists globally or blows up in finite time depends on the initial data and the relations of the parameters in the system. The critical exponent of the system is simply described via a characteristic matrix equation introduced.
