Abstract:The title compound, (1R,2R,3R,5S)-3-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-hydroxy-2-methyl-6-phenyl-8-oxa-6-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-7-one, was synthesized and characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR and HRMS spectroscopy. Its absolute molecular configuration was investigated by X-ray crystallography. The crystal structure analysis revealed that the structure exhibits intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type O-H horizontal ellipsis O. The methyl group and chlorophenyl group are located in the cis configuration. The conformation is stabilized by weak intermolecular C-H... O interactions.

Abstract:The synthesis of syn-photodimer from 1,4-dihydropyridine without 4-aryl was studied, and its single crystal was obtained (C22H302O8, M-r = 450.48). It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c with a = 11.937(2), b = 20.913(4), c = 9.763(2) angstrom, beta = 108.46(3)degrees, V = 2311.9(g) A(3), Z = 4, D-c = 1.294 g/cm(3), F(000) = 960, mu = 0.099 mm(-1), R = 0.0640 and wR = 0.1464 for 4077 unique reflections with 1599 observed ones (I > 2 sigma(I)). It is shown that the whole molecular structure of the title compound is a twist-boat conformation, and the two double bonds have a trend of potential intramolecular reaction under high-energy irradiation.

Abstract:The synthesis and crystal structure of a novel calix[8)arene ester are reported herein. The calix[8]arene ester derivative has been characterized by IR, NMR and X-ray crystal analysis. The X-ray structure analysis revealed that the 8 phenolic hydroxy groups of the calix(8]arene have been substituted by 4 diethyl dibromomalonate molecules with each two adjacent hydroxy oxygen atoms attached to a bridge diethyl malonate.

Abstract:This paper is dedicated to Professor Cristina Nevado, University of Zürich, in recognition of her receipt of the 2021 Dr. Margaret Faul Women in Chemistry Award The morphinan alkaloid (–)-thebaine is an industrially important chemical intermediate deployed in the semi-synthesis of various opioid medicines. Here, a seven-step total synthesis of this natural product is reported from simple, commercially available starting materials. The pivotal aryl allyl ether substrate, which is obtained through successive Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling and Mitsunobu substitution reactions, was engaged in a double-Heck cyclization sequence. The tetracyclic product of these processes was subjected to a photochemical hydroamination reaction that generated a N -Boc piperidine derivative embodying the full pentacyclic morphinan framework. Over a further three simple steps, this last compound was converted into (–)-thebaine. Abstract:(17R,S)-17-Hydroxy-14,15-secoandrost-4-en-15-yn-3-one has been shown previously to be a mechanism-based inactivator of rat liver 3 alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. This manuscript describes the synthesis of this diastereomeric 14,15-secosteroid from [2S-2 alpha,4a alpha,4b beta,10a beta)]- 1,2,3,4a,4b,7,9,10,10a-decahydro-2,4b-dimethyl-7-oxo-2-phenanth renecarboxylic acid methyl ester. The separation of this diastereomeric 14,15-secosteroid into (17R)- and (17S)-17-hydroxy-14,15-secoandrost-4-en-15-yn-3-one was accomplished by HPLC separation of the (S)-1-[(4-methylphenyl)sulphonyl]-2-pyrrolidinecarboxylate derivatives on a silica column. The crystal structure of (17S)-17-hydroxy-14,15-secoandrost-4-en-15-yn-3-one was then solved by X-ray diffraction analysis to establish unambiguously the absolute configuration of the diastereomeric 14,15-secosteroid.

Abstract:In an attempt to identify bioactive compounds from a Tibetan medicinal herb Halenia elliptica, four known compounds were isolated. The crystal structure of the title compound l-hydroxy-2,3,4,7-tetramethoxyxanthone was characterized by X-ray single-crystal structure analysis. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/n with a=7.155(2), b =13.232(1), c=16.037(2) A, β=95.06(2)°, V=1512.4(5) A3, C17H16O7, Mr=332.30, Z=4, Dc =1.459 g/cm3, λ(MoKα)=0.71073 A, μ(MoKα)=1.15 cm-1 and F(000)=696. It exhibits a characteristic approximate plane structure consisting of 13 carbon atoms (C(1) to C(13)) and all of the seven oxygen atoms (O(1) to O(7)). An intra-hydrogen bond was formed between O(6) and O(5)-H(5).

Abstract:A new 1,2,3-thiadiazole compound was synthesized. The crystal structure of the title compound (C13H13ClN2O2S, Mr = 296.76) has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P-1 with a = 6.903(2), b = 9.875(3), c = 10.903(4) angstrom, alpha = 75.217(5)degrees, beta = 79.698(5)degrees, gamma = 80.788(5)degrees, V = 701.9(4) angstrom(3), Z = 2, F(000) = 308, Dc = 1.404 g/cm(3), mu = 0.42 mm(-1), the final R1 = 0.0324 and wR2 = 0.0823 for 2349 observed reflections with I > 2 sigma(I). Abstract:The title compound was synthesized by the reaction of (R)-N-acetylthiazolidine-2 -thione-4-carboxlic acid with 1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione in the presence of cyanuryl chloride (CC) and Et3N. The crystal structure was determined by x-ray diffraction method. The crystal is monoclinic system, space group P21/c, with a=0.9959(4)nm, b=1.1469(4)nm, c=1.1108(3)nm, β=92.72(3)°, V=1.2673(8)nm3, Z=4. The C=O and C=S group are located at the opposite sides of C(4)-N(1)-C(1) and C(6)-N(2)-C(7) bonds. The electronic structure of the title compound was studied by molecular orbital PM3 method. The nature of the near frontier orbital and distribution of the calculated net charges and bond orders were obtained. The electronic spectra was discussed.

Abstract:8-chloro-3-((3-chlorobenzyl)thio)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine was synthesized and recrystallized from EtOH. The compound was characterized by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, FTIR, MS, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. The compound was crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 8.1992(5), b = 21.7731(12), c = 7.8454(6) angstrom, alpha = 90, beta = 108.421(7), gamma = 90 degrees, V = 1328.81 (15) angstrom(3), Z = 4 and R = 0.0351. Theoretical calculation of the title compound was carried out with B3LYP/6-31G. The full geometry optimization was carried out by using the 6-31G basis set. The frontier orbital energy and atomic net charges were discussed. The experimental results of the compound have been compared with theoretical results and it was found that the experimental data shows good agreement with the calculated values.

The single crystals belong to monoclinic, space group P2 1/n with a=11. 560 (1), b=19. 058(3), c= 13. 207(2) Å η=106. 82(1)°, V=2785. 2(7) Å 3, Z=4, D c= 1.230g.cm -3, MoKα(λ= 0. 71073 Å), μ=0. 064mm -1, F(000)=1088, C 34H 30N 2O 3, M r= 514. 62. The structure was solvee by using direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares method, and the final R factor is 0. 046 for 2278 observed reflections. The molecular backbone is consist of a tricyclic system with the central seven-membered 1,5-diazepine ring in twisted boat-like conformation and cis-fused to both an 1,3-oxazinone ring in a slightly distorted boat conformation and a benzene ring.

Abstract:2-(3-Bromophenyl)-1-(4-morpholinyl)ethanone belongs to one of morpholine derivatives. In this paper, 2-(3-bromophenyl)-1-(4-morpholinyl)ethanone was synthesized by a two-step synthesis method. In order to determine the structure of the target compound, FT-IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR and MS were used for detection. Meanwhile, X-ray diffraction was used to detect the single crystal and obtain the crystal structure data of the target compound. The molecular crystal structure was compared with that determined by density functional theory. The frontier molecular orbitals and molecular electrostatic potential energy were used to further study the physical properties of the compounds.

Abstract:The compound 3,6-bis(4-methyl-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-yl)-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4] thiadiazole(C9H6N8S3,Mr = 322.40) has been synthesized by the reaction of 4-amino-3-(4-methyl-1,2,3-thiadiazolyl)-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole with 4-methyl-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-carboxylic acid and phosphorus oxychloride,and its structure was characterized by IR,1H NMR,EI-MS,elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.The crystal of the title compound belongs to monoclinic,space group C2/c with a = 2.0053(4),b = 1.3081(3),c = 1.0556(2) nm,β = 112.69(3)°,Z = 4,V = 2.5548(9) nm3,Dc = 1.676 g/cm3,μ = 0.582 mm-1,F(000) = 1312,R = 0.0546 and wR = 0.1523.X-ray analysis indicates that all rings are essentially planar in this molecule,and an intermolecular hydrogen bond C(9)–H(9)…N(2) and weak intramolecular interactions between S(1)…N(7),S(3)…N(1) and S(2)…N(4) are observed.

Abstract:The title compound n-propyl-4-[2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yloxy)benzylamino] benzoate (C23H25N3O5) was synthesized by the reaction of 2-methanesulfonyl-4,6-dimethoxy pyrimidine and N-(4'-propoxycarbonylphenyl)-2-hydroxybenzylamine in THF, and its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group P2/n with a = 14.8504(8), b = 9.4420(4), c = 16.3129(9) Angstrom, beta = 104.881(1)degrees, V = 2210.6(2) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, D-c = 1.272 g/cm(3), F(000) = 896.00, mu(MoKalpha) = 0.91cm(-1), R = 0.051 and wR = 0.118. Of the 19761 collected reflections, 5004 were unique. The title compound was also characterized by elemental analysis, IR, MS and H NMR. In the molecule there exist three different planes. In each of them a conjugated system is formed. The dihedrals between the pyrimidine plane and two phenyl planes (C(7)similar toC(12), C(14)similar toC(19)) are 99.18 and 164.15degrees, respectively, and the dihedral between these two phenyl rings is 94.93degrees. The conformation of the title compound is of boat-like.
