Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis and enterococcus joint trimebutine maleate tablets and/or paroxetine in the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(D-IBS). Methods A total of 131 consecutive outpatients with D-IBS were randomly divided into group A: treatment with enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis and enterococcus;group B: treatment with enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis and enterococcus joint trimebutine maleate;group C: treatment with enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis joint paroxetine;group D: treatment with enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis and enterococcus joint trimebutine maleate tablets and paroxetine tablets.Three weeks after treatment,the patients' stool frequency,abdominal pain and bloating,stool consistency and adverse reactions were observed and recorded. Results The total effective rates of stool frequency were 35.48%,63.89%,36.67%,67.65% respectively in the group A,the group B,the group C and the group D after treatment,and the difference between group A and group B,group A and group D,group C and group D were statistically significant (P0.05).The total effective rates of abdominal pain and bloating were 35.48%,61.11%,56.67%,91.18% respectively in the group A,the group B,the group C and the group D after treatment,and the difference between group A and group B,group A and group C,group A and group D,group B and group D,group C and group D were statistically significant(P0.05).The total effective rates of stool consistency were 41.94%,75.00%,40.00%,79.41% respectively in the group A,the group B,the group C and the group D after treatment,and the difference between group A and group B,group A and group D,group B and group C,group C and group D were statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion The enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis was effective,more suitable for mild D-IBS.The enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis joint trimebutine maleate tablet had a better effect,suitable for medium D-IBS.The enteric-coated capsule of bacillus subtilis and enterococcus joint trimebutine maleate tablets and/or paroxetine was most effective for D-IBS,especially for severe D-IBS.
