Meta-analysis of the Effect of Comfeel Transparent Dressing and the Hydropathic Compress of Magnesium Sulfate on Phlebitis

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of comfeel transparent dressing and magnesium sulfate on phlebitis,in order to provide basis for clinical treatment.Methods Documents concerning comfeel transparent dressing and hydropathic compress of magnesium sulfate on phlebitis before May 20,2011 in PubMed,CNKI and other databases were retrieved.All RCTs and CCTs that met the evaluation criterion were ratified according to the inclusion and exclusion standard.The selection of experiment,the data fetch and the quality evaluation of methodology was carried out by two independent evaluators and analyzed with Revman 5.0.Results Four studies,366 cases of RCT were recruited.The heterogeneity between researches was not statistically significant (P =0.22,I2 =31％).According to the analysis of fixed effect,MD =1.59,95％ ; CI:1.59(1.08 -2.10) ;Z =6.08 (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions The effect of comfeel transparent dressing is better than the hydropathic compress of magnesium sulfate on phlebitis.However,there is no related safety and economic evaluation,thus well-designed RCTs with large samples are required for further verification.
