In-depth Discussion of Current Ophthalmology Ward Nursing Quality Evaluation Indicators

Abstract:Objective To comprehend ophthalmology nursing managers′ views about status of ophthalmology ward nursing quality evaluation indicators, and to provide the basis for constructing ophthalmology ward care quality evaluation system. Methods Face-to-face and semi-structured interviews were designed and conducted to 9 nursing managers to gain their in-depth views about ophthalmology ward nursing quality evaluation indicators. Data were analyzed using phenomenological analysis. Results The view of eye nursing managers on the current ophthalmology ward care quality evaluation indicators included: ophthalmology wards and patient characteristics; evaluation of existing eye care problems and build on the evaluation recommendations. Conclusions Existing ophthalmology ward nursing quality evaluation lacks of ophthalmology specialist care characteristics, can not reasonably evaluate the quality of care, so an ophthalmology ward specialist care quality evaluation system needs to be created.
