Abstract:Objective To establish a method to detect the hospital-acquired respiratory tract infection pathogens spectrum with liquid microarray technique, and to provide the basis for the early clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods Three hundred and one frozen nasopharyngeal swabs from patients with respiratory tract infection were included.Amplicon rescue multiplex polymerase chain reaction(ARM-PCR)and Luminex xMAP technology were used to detect 14 pathogens including Acinetobacter baumannii,Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Klebsiella pneumonia,Enterococcus faecalis,Enterococcus faecium,Escherichia coli,Enterobacter cloacae,Proteus mirabilis,Candida albicans,Candida krusei,Candida glabrata,Candida parapsilosis,Candida tropicalis and Methicillin resistance. Results Of the 301 specimens,137(45.5%) were positive for Acinetobacter baumannii,88(29.2%) for Pseudomonas aeruginosa,46(15.3%) for Klebsiella pneumonia,24(8%) for Enterococcus faecalis,21(7%) for Enterobacter cloacae(7%),14(4.7%) for Staphylococcus aureus,11(3.7%) for Candida krusei,8(2.7%) for Enterococcus faecium,7(2.3%) for Proteus mirabilis,4(1.3%) for Escherichia coli,1 Candida parapsilosis and 69(22.9%) were methicillin resistance. Conclusions Liquid microarray technique can quickly detect a panel of common hospital-acquired respiratory tract infection pathogens.
