Abstract:Coronary flow velocity reserve (CFVR) of the target and reference vessels was measured in 109 patients who underwent interventions of a single coronary artery. The patients were divided into Group I (reference CFVR<3.0, existed microvascular dysfunction) and Group II (reference CFVRgreater than or equal to3.0, normal microvascular function). No significant difference was found concerning all the flow parameters after intervention in target vessel compared with those in reference vessel in Group I. However, in Group II, the CFVR after intervention in target vessel was significantly lower than that of reference vessel(2.87+/-0.80 vs. 3.58+/-0.51, p<0.05), and the baseline average peak velocity was significantly higher than that of reference vessel. Impairment of CFVR could be induced by the procedure of intervention.
