The Research and Implementation of Semantic Retrieval on Instructional Resources System Based on Ontology

Abstract:Semantic web technology can provide supports for semantic retrieval. The article compared traditional retrieval with the retrieval based on semantic analysis, and then holds the opinion that semantic analysis on the keywords entered by the user, can handle the problem that low quality of traditional information retrieval system. The author designed and implemented an ontology-based retrieval system on the basis of two appropriate semantic similarity computing methods. The system's basic function mainly includes the onstage function and the backstage management function. Backstage management function, includes building ontology and saving it into database, is aimed at laying the groundwork for the onstage function. The onstage function provides two retrieval methods to meet the different needs of users. The evaluation result of the system's performance is that the semantic retrieval based on ontology has a higher recall and precision ratio than the traditional retrieval.
