Abstract:The patient sought assistance in 2015 due to jaw pain and a foul odor following dental implant placement. The patient mentioned prior use of bisphosphonates (Zometa and Zoladex) for prostate cancer treatment. Upon physical examination, bone exposure, submandibular swelling, trismus, and purulent drainage were observed, leading to the diagnosis of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis. The patient underwent an anterior jaw resection and placement of a reconstruction plate. However, during follow-up, new bone exposures developed.
