Dominant Point Representation of Feature Curves Based on Shape Recognition for Radiation Image

Abstract:Object recognition based on shape is an embranchment of X-ray detection techniques. An important feature of shape description is the contour curves of object. To improve the efficiency of recognition, dominant points are usually used to represent the contour. The study in this paper focuses on extracting the feature curves of the contour from radiation image containing a single object and using a nonparametric method further to extract and optimize the dominant points. The experimental results show that a set of dominant points can represent feature curves effectively.
