Abstract:This paper employs general-equilibrium theory to prove that the resource allocation efficiency cannot be guaranteed by market mechanism due to the electricity characteristics, but it may exist pseudo-equilibrium. Then the long-term equilibriums of the time-delay dynamic electricity market system are analyzed and it is concluded that the balance between supply and demand will be reached under some conditions. At last it is illustrated that the effects of electricity characteristics on resource allocation efficiency could be eliminated or reduced through the design of systems and market rules.
