Abstract:We found an explicit construction of a representation of the positive quantum group $GL_q^+(N,\R)$ and its modular double $GL_{q\til[q]}^+(N,\R)$ by positive essentially self-adjoint operators. Generalizing Lusztig's parametrization, we found a Gauss type decomposition for the totally positive quantum group $GL_q^+(N,\R)$ for $|q|=1$, parametrized by the standard decomposition of the longest element $w_0\in W=S_{N-1}$. Under this parametrization, we found explicitly the relations between the standard quantum variables, the relations between the quantum cluster variables, and realizing them using non-compact generators of the $q$-tori $uv=q^2 vu$ by positive essentially self-adjoint operators. The modular double arises naturally from the transcendental relations, and an $L^2(GL_{q\til[q]}^+(N,\R))$ space in the von Neumann setting can also be defined.

Abstract:In this paper, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) = H(e(i), f(i), k(i)(+/- 1))(1 <= i <= m)., on the coordinate algebra of quantum vector spaces are studied. We denote the coordinate algebra of quantum n-dimensional vector space by A(q)(n). As our main result, first, we give a complete classification of module-algebra structures of U-p(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(3) when k(i) is an element of Aut L(A(q)(3)) as actions on A(q)(3) for i = 1,...,m and m >= 2 and with the same method, on A(q)(2), all module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) are characterized. Lastly, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(n) are obtained for any n >= 4.

Abstract:Let g be a finite dimensional complex simple Lie algebra, and let U=Uq(g) be its quantized enveloping algebra with a triangular decomposition U=U−U0U+. We classify all U-module structures on U0 with the regular action of U0 on itself, which are shown to have direct connections with the q-Weyl algebra and the bounded weight representations. We obtain that the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of such modules is that U has to be of type An(n≥1), Bn(n≥2) or Cn(n≥3). Moreover, we study their module structures and associated weight modules for each type.

Abstract:The connection between the R-matrix realization and Drinfeld's realization of the quantum loop algebra $U_q(D^{(2)}_n)$ is considered using the Gaussian decomposition approach proposed by J. Ding and I. B. Frenkel. Our main result is a description of the embedding $U_q(D^{(2)}_{n-1})\hookrightarrow U_q(D^{(2)}_n)$ that underlies this connection. Explicit relations between all Gaussian coordinates of the L-operators and the currents are presented.

Abstract:Let P := P m×n denote the quantized coordinate ring of the space of m × n matrices. We introduce a q-analog PD of the algebra of polynomial coefficient differential operators inside End(P) and we prove that PD is an integral form of the algebra Pol(Mat m×n ) q introduced earlier by Shklyarov-Sinel'shchikov-Vaksman [SSV04]. Let L and R denote the images in End(P) of the natural actions of the quantized enveloping algebras U q (gl m ) and U q (gl n ), respectively, and let L h and R h denote the images of their Cartan subalgebras. Our main result is that L ∩ PD and R ∩ PD are mutual centralizers in PD, and using this, we establish a new First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory for U q (gl n ). We also determine explicit generators of the subalgebras L h ∩ PD and R h ∩ PD in terms of q-determinants.

On some algebraic and geometric aspects of the quantum unitary group

Abstract:Consider the compact quantum group $U_q(2)$, where $q$ is a non-zero complex deformation parameter such that $|q|\neq 1$. Let $C(U_q(2))$ denote the underlying $C^*$-algebra of the compact quantum group $U_q(2)$. We prove that if $q$ is a non-real complex number and $q^\prime$ is real, then the underlying $C^*$-algebras $C(U_q(2))$ and $C(U_{q^\prime}(2))$ are non-isomorphic. This is in sharp contrast with the case of braided $SU_q(2)$, introduced earlier by Woronowicz et al., where $q$ is a non-zero complex deformation parameter. In another direction, on a geometric aspect of $U_q(2)$, we introduce torus action on the $C^*$-algebra $C(U_q(2))$ and obtain a $C^*$-dynamical system $(C(U_q(2)),\mathbb{T}^3,\alpha)$. We construct a $\mathbb{T}^3$-equivariant spectral triple for $U_q(2)$ that is even and $3^+$-summable. It is shown that the Dirac operator is K-homologically nontrivial.

Abstract:We introduce a new elliptic quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor) associated with an arbitrary toroidal algebra g_tor. We show that U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor) contains two elliptic quantum algebras associated with a corresponding affine Lie algebra bg as subalgebras. They are analogue of the horizontal and the vertical subalgebras in the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,\kappa}(g_tor). A Hopf algebroid structure is introduced as a co-algebra structure of U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor) using the Drinfeld comultiplication. We also investigate the Z-algebra structure of U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor) and show that the Z-algebra governs the irreducibility of the level (k(\not=0),l)-infinite dimensional U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor)-modules in the same way as in the elliptic quantum group U_{q,p}(g). As an example, we construct the level (1,l) irreducible representation of U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_tor) for the simply laced gtor. We also construct the level (0,1) representation of U_{q,\kappa,p}(g_N,tor) and discuss a conjecture on its geometric interpretation as an action on the torus equivariant elliptic cohomology of the affine A_{N-1} quiver variety.

U(1) Fields from Qubits: an Approach via D-theory Algebra

Abstract:A new quantum link microstructure was proposed for the lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD) Hamiltonian, replacing the Wilson gauge links with a bilinear of fermionic qubits, later generalized to D-theory. This formalism provides a general framework for building lattice field theory algorithms for quantum computing. We focus mostly on the simplest case of a quantum rotor for a single compact $U(1)$ field. We also make some progress for non-Abelian setups, making it clear that the ideas developed in the $U(1)$ case extend to other groups. These in turn are building blocks for $1 + 0$-dimensional ($1 + 0$-D) matrix models, $1 + 1$-D sigma models and non-Abelian gauge theories in $2+1$ and $3+1$ dimensions. By introducing multiple flavors for the $U(1)$ field, where the flavor symmetry is gauged, we can efficiently approach the infinite-dimensional Hilbert space of the quantum $O(2)$ rotor with increasing flavors. The emphasis of the method is on preserving the symplectic algebra exchanging fermionic qubits by sigma matrices (or hard bosons) and developing a formal strategy capable of generalization to $SU(3)$ field for lattice QCD and other non-Abelian $1 + 1$-D sigma models or $3 +3$-D gauge theories. For $U(1)$, we discuss briefly the qubit algorithms for the study of the discrete $1+1$-D Sine-Gordon equation.

Abstract:Quadratic groups, whose definitions depend on form parameters, contain the orthogonal groups, symplectic groups, classical unitary groups and all the classical groups of Dieudonne [4] as well as those of Bruhat and Tits [2]. Gauss decomposition with prescribed semisimple part in these groups is presented. As an application, the analog of a conjecture of Thompson is also studied for these groups.

Abstract:Given a quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak g)$ and a pair of dominant weights ($\lambda$, $\mu$), we extend a conjecture raised by Lusztig in \cite{Lusztig:1992}to a more general form and then prove this extended Lusztig's conjecture. Namely we prove that for any symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak g$, there is a composition series of the $U_q(\mathfrak g)$-module $V(\lambda)\otimes V(\mu)$ compatible with the canonical basis. As a byproduct, the celebrated Littlewood-Richardson rule is derived and we also construct, in the same manner, a composition series of $V(\lambda)\otimes V(-\mu)$ compatible with the canonical basis when $\mathfrak g$ is of affine type and the level of $\lambda-\mu$ is nonzero.

Abstract:We establish an explicit isomorphism between two realizations of the quantum affine algebra U(q)(gI(n)) given previously by Drinfeld and Reshetikhin-Semenov-Tian-Shansky. Our result can be considered as an affine version of the isomorphism between the Drinfield/Jimbo and the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan constructions of the quantum algebra U(q)(gI(n)).

Abstract:In this paper, we systematically establish the mathematical foundation for the $\text{U}^N(1)$ quantum geometric tensor (QGT) of mixed states Explicitly, we present a description based on the $\text{U}^N(1)$ principal bundle and derive a Pythagorean-like distance decomposition equation. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive comparison of its properties with those of the U(1) principal bundle description of the pure-state QGT. Finally, we prove a fundamental inequality for the $\text{U}^N(1)$ QGT and discuss its physical implication.

Lusztig's Quantum Root Vectors and a Dolbeault Complex for the A-Series Full Quantum Flag Manifolds

Abstract:For the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra $U_q(\frak{sl}_{n+1})$, we show that the span of Lusztig's positive root vectors, with respect to Littlemann's nice reduced decompositions of the longest element of the Weyl group, form quantum tangent spaces for the full quantum flag manifold $\mathcal{O}_q(\mathrm{F}_{n+1})$. The associated differential calculi are direct $q$-deformations of the anti-holomorphic Dolbeault complex of the classical full flag manifold $\mathrm{F}_{n+1}$. As an application we establish a quantum Borel-Weil theorem for the $A_n$-series full quantum flag manifold, giving a noncommutative differential geometric realisation of all the finite-dimensional type-$1$ irreducible representations of $U_q(\frak{sl}_{n+1})$. Restricting this differential calculus to the quantum Grassmannians is shown to reproduce the celebrated Heckenberger-Kolb anti-holomorphic Dolbeault complex. Lusztig's positive root vectors for non-nice decompositions of the longest element of the Weyl group are examined for low orders, and are exhibited to either not give tangents spaces, or to produce differential calculi of non-classical dimension.

Abstract:Due to the increasing applications of dual quaternion and their matrices in recent years, as well as the significance of LU decomposition as a matrix decomposition technique, in this paper, we propose dual quaternion Gaussian transformation and obtain dual quaternion LU decomposition by using Gaussian transformation. We also use the total order of dual numbers to obtain the partial pivoting dual quaternion LU decomposition. Based on the real structure-preserving algorithm of quaternion matrix, we propose the real structure-preserving algorithms of LU decomposition and partial pivoting LU decomposition for dual quaternion matrix. Numerical experiments have verified the effectiveness of the new real structure-preserving approaches.

Abstract:A theorem of Dubrovin establishes the relationship between the GUE partition function and the partition function of Gromov-Witten invariants of the complex projective line. Based on this theorem we derive loop equations for the Gaussian Unitary Ensemble (GUE) partition function. We show that the GUE partition function is equal to part of the topological partition function of the non-linear Schrödinger (NLS) Frobenius manifold.
