Abstract:We estimate the mass and the width of pentaquark Θ∗ states in the {27} baryon multiplet from chiral soliton model. The calculations show that the mass of Θ∗ is about 1.60 GeV and the width for the process Θ∗ → KN is less than 44 MeV. We also discuss the search for the existence of Θ∗ states in physical processes.

Abstract:We use the perturbation method to calculate the masses and widths for 27-plet baryons with spin 3/2 from chiral soliton models. According to the masses and quantum numbers, we find all the candidates for nonexotic members of the 27-plet. The calculation of the widths shows that these candidates manifest an approximate symmetry of the 27 representation of the SU(3) group, and the quantum numbers of Xi(1950) seem to be I(J(P))=1/2(3/2(+)). Up to leading order of the strange quark mass, we find that the exotic members have widths much larger than those of the antidecuplet members.
35-Plet Baryons from Chiral Soliton Models

Abstract:We investigate the 35-plet baryons from the chiral soliton models. We find that the coupling constant for the decay of 35-plet baryons with spin 3/2 to the decuplet baryons is surprisingly small, but that for the decay to 27-plet baryons with spin 3/2 is larger. We give all the masses and widths of 35-plet baryons with spin 5/2 and suggest candidates for all nonexotic members from the available particle listings. We also focus on Delta(5/2) and Theta(2), which are the lightest two baryons of 35-plet with spin 5/2 and with simplest minimal pentaquark configurations. Calculations show that Gamma(Delta5/2)<380 MeV, compared with the results from the SU(2) Skyrme model (Gamma(Delta5/2)>800 MeV), and Gamma(Theta2)<100 MeV if we assume that their widths are dominated by two-body decay and that Theta(+) has a width Gamma(Theta)(+)<25 MeV.
Parity of Antidecuplet Baryons Reexamined from Chiral Soliton Models

Abstract:We recalculate masses and widths of antidecuplet baryons in the case of positive parity from chiral soliton models, provided that the member Xi(3/2) of the antidecuplet has a mass 1.86 GeV, as reported recently. Calculations show that there are no convincing candidates for the nonexotic members of the antidecuplet available in the baryon listings. Up to the leading order of m(s) and 1/N-c, the width formula for the decay of the antidecuplet baryons to the octet depends only on SU(3) symmetry model independently, except the coupling constant. Similarly, we give a width formula for the decay of negative parity baryons belonging to certain SU(3) baryon multiplets by pure symmetry consideration. By this formula, we find that if we have an antidecuplet with negative parity and that the masses are the same as those given by chiral soltion models, the identification of N(1650) as N-(10) over bar are inconsistent with experiments for N(1650)-->Npi while the widths agree with other two decay channels involving strangeness. And Sigma(1750) seems to be a reasonable candidate for Sigma((10) over bar).
Heavy Quarkonia, Heavy-Light Tetraquarks and the Chiral Quark-Soliton Model

Abstract:We apply the Chiral Quark-Soliton Model used previously to describe baryons with one heavy quark to the case of heavy tetraquarks. We argue, that the model is insenstive to the nature of the heavy object bound by the soliton, i.e. to its mass and spin. Therefore, a heavy quark can be replaced by an anti-diquark without modifying the soliton background. Diquark dynamics is taken into account by means of the nonrelarivistic Schrödinger equation with the Cornell potential. We fix the Cornell potential parameters from the charmonia and bottomia spectra. We first compute $B_c$ meson masses to check our fitting procedure, and then compute diquark masses by appropriately rescaling color factors in the Cornell potential. We ten compute tetraquark masses and confirm previous findings that only $bb$ tetraquarks are bound.

We consider two examples and argue that any consistent and self-contained description must go beyond the mean field approximation that only considers the classical soliton and the canonical quantization of its (would-be) zero modes via collective coordinates.

Abstract:We study the interaction between two B = 1 states in the Chiral Dilaton Model where baryons are described as non-topological solitons arising from the interaction of chiral mesons and quarks. By using the hedgehog solution for the B = 1 states we construct, via a product ansatz, three possible B = 2 configurations to analyse the role of the relative orientation of the hedgehog quills in the dynamics of the soliton-soliton interaction and investigate the behaviour of these solutions in the range of long/intermediate distance. One of the solutions is quite binding due to the dynamics of the {\pi} and {\sigma} fields at intermediate distance and should be used for nuclear matter studies. Since the product ansatz breaks down as the two solitons get close, we explore the short range distance regime with a model that describes the interaction via a six-quark bag ansatz. We calculate the interaction energy as a function of the inter-soliton distance and show that for small separations the six quarks bag, assuming a hedgehog structure, provides a stable bound state that at large separations connects with a special configuration coming from the product ansatz.

Abstract:In this work, we systematically calculate the spectrum of hidden-charm pentaquark states qqqcc ̄(q=u,d) in the chiral SU(3) quark model, which has been quite successful in reproducing consistently the energies of octet and decuplet baryon ground states, the binding energy of deuteron, and the nucleon-nucleon scattering phase shifts and mixing parameters for partial waves with total angular momentum up to J=6 . The Hamiltonian contains the kinetic energy of the system, the confinement potential, the one-gluon-exchange (OGE) potential, and the one-boson-exchange potential stemming from the coupling of quark and chiral fields. We solve the Schrödinger equation by use of the variational method. It is found that the masses of all the experimentally observed Pc(4312) , Pc(4380) , Pc(4440) , and Pc(4457) states are much overestimated, indicating that these states are not compact pentaquark states in the chiral SU(3) quark model. All other qqqcc ̄(q=u,d) states are found to lie much above the corresponding baryon-meson thresholds and thus are not suggested as stable pentaquark states due to their fall-apart decays. Abstract:Assuming that the PψN(4312)+ is a I(JP)=12(32−) compact pentaquark, we study the mass spectrum of its S -wave hidden-charm partner states in a color-magnetic interaction model. Combining the information from their decays obtained in a simple rearrangement scheme, one finds that the quantum numbers of PψN(4457)+ , PψN(4440)+ , and PψN(4337)+ can be assigned to be I(JP)=12(32−) , 12(12−) , and 12(12−) , respectively, while both PψsΛ(4338)0 and PψsΛ(4459)0 can be interpreted as I(JP)=0(12−) udscc ̄ compact states. Based on the numerical results, we also find narrow pentaquarks in ssncc ̄ ( n=u , d ) and ssscc ̄ systems. Abstract:There are experimental evidences for the existence of narrow states Θ^+ and Θ_c with the same quantum numbers of uudds̅ and uuddc̅ pentaquarks and also NK^(*) and ND^(*) molecular states. Their masses deviate from many theoretical estimates of the pure pentaquark and molecular states. In this work we study the possibility that the observed Θ^+ and Θ_c are mixtures of pure pentaquark and molecular states. The mixing parameters are in general related to non-perturbative QCD which are not calculable at present. We determine them by fitting data from known states and then generalize the mechanism to Θ_b to predict its mass and width. The mixing mechanism can also naturally explain the narrow width for Θ^+ and Θ_c through destructive interferences, even if the pure pentaquark and molecular states have much larger decay widths. We also briefly discuss the properties of the partner eigenstates of Θ^+ and Θ_c and the possibility of experimentally observe them. Moreover, probable consequences of multi-state mixing are also addressed.
Relativistic Calculation of Pentaquark Widths

Abstract:We calculate the widths of the various pentaquarks in a relativistic model in which the pentaquark is considered to be composed of a scalar diquark and a spin 1/2 triquark. We consider both positive and negative parity for the pentaquark. There is a single parameter in our model which we vary and which describes the size of the pentaquark. We obtain quite small widths for the decay Theta^(+) -> N+K^(+) and for Theta_c^0 -> P+D^{*-} consistent with the experimental situation. For the sum of the decay widths for Xi(bar)^(--) -> Xi^(-) + pi^(+) and Xi(bar)^(--) -> Sigma^(-) + K^(-) we find values of the order of 4-8 MeV for pentaquarks of the characteristic size considered in this work. (The experimental situation with respect to te observation of the Xi(bar)^(--) is somewhat uncertain at this time.) We also provide results for the decays N^(+) -> N + pi and N_s^(+) -> Lambda^(0) + K^(+). Our model of confinement plays an important role in our analysis and makes it possible to use Feynman diagrams to describe the decay of the pentaquark.

Abstract:We calculate the masses and leptonic decay widths of the bottomonium $b\bar b$ and charmonium $c\bar c$ states in a constituent quark model where the Cornell-like potential and spin-dependent interaction are employed, with all model parameters predetermined by studying ground and first radial excited states of S- and P-wave heavy quarkonium mesons. Abstract:If Jaffe and Wilczek's diquark picture for Θ+5 pentaquark is correct,there should also exist a SUF(3)pentaquark octet and singlet with no orbital excitation between the diquark pair,hence JP=(1)/(2)-.These states are lighter than the Θ+5 anti-decuplet and lie close to the orbitally excited(L=1)three-quark states in the conventional quark model.We calculate their masses and magnetic moments and discuss their possible strong decays using the chiral Lagrangian formalism.Among them two pentaquarks with nucleon quantum numbers may be narrow.Selection rules of strong decays are derived.We propose the experimental search of these nine additional JP=(1)/(2)- baryon states.Especially there are two additional JP=(1)/(2)- Λ baryons around Λ(1405).We also discuss the interesting possibility of interpreting Λ(1405)as a pentaquark.The presence of these additional states will provide strong support of the diquark picture for the pentaquarks.If future experimental searches fail,one has to re-evaluate the relevance of this picture for the pentaquarks.

Abstract:Inspired by the resonance $T_{cc}^+(3875)$ recently observed by the LHCb Collaboration, we systematically explore the $S$- and $P$-wave $cc\bar{q}\bar{q}'$ $(\bar{q},\bar{q}' = \bar{u}, \bar{d}, \bar{s})$ systems in a chiral SU(3) quark model. The Hamiltonian contains the kinetic energy, the one-gluon-exchange (OGE) potential, the confinement potential, and the one-boson-exchange (OBE) potential stemming from the coupling of quark and chiral fields. The Schrödinger equation is solved by use of the variational method with the spacial trial wave functions chosen as Gaussian functions. It is found that the lowest state has a mass $3879$ MeV, isospin and spin-parity $IJ^P=01^+$, and quark constituent $cc\bar{u}\bar{d}$, in agreement with the experimentally observed $T_{cc}^+(3875)$. This state is approximately at the calculated $DD^\ast$ threshold, and has a root-mean-square radius about $0.48$ fm. These demonstrates that the $T_{cc}^+(3875)$ can be accommodated as a stable and compact tetraquark sate in the chiral SU(3) quark model. All the other $S$- and $P$-wave $cc\bar{q}\bar{q}'$ $(\bar{q},\bar{q}' = \bar{u}, \bar{d}, \bar{s})$ states lie about one hundred to few hundreds MeV higher than the corresponding meson-meson thresholds, and thus are not suggested to be candidates of stable and compact tetraquark states due to their fall-apart decays to two mesons.

Penta-quark States with Strangeness, Hidden Charm and Beauty

Abstract:The classical quenched quark models with three constituent quarks provide a good description for the baryon spatial ground states, but fail to reproduce the spectrum of baryon excited states. More and more evidences suggest that unquenched effects with multi-quark dynamics are necessary ingredients to solve the problem. Several new hyperon resonances reported recently could fit in the picture of penta-quark states. Based on this picture, some new hyperon excited states were predicted to exist; meanwhile with extension from strangeness to charm and beauty, super-heavy narrow $N^*$ and $\Lambda^*$ resonances with hidden charm or beauty were predicted to be around 4.3 and 11 GeV, respectively. Recently, two of such $N^*$ with hidden charm might have been observed by the LHCb experiment. More of those states are expected to be observed in near future. This opens a new window in order to study hadronic dynamics for the multi-quark states.

Interactions of the Pseudoscalar Meson Octet and the Baryon Decuplet in the Continuum and a Finite Volume

Abstract:This study focuses on the interaction of the pseudoscalar meson octet and the baryon decuplet. In the continuum, it is observed that several $J^{P}=\frac32^-$ baryon resonances can be produced by the Weinberg-Tomozawa interaction in unitarized chiral perturbation theory, including the $N(1875)$, $\Sigma(1670)$, $\Sigma(1910)$, $\Xi(1820)$ and $\Omega(2012)$. Among them, the $\Xi(1820)$ and $\Sigma(1670)$ may exhibit a potential two-pole structures. The unitarized chiral perturbation approach is then applied as the underlying theory to predict the energy levels of these systems in a finite volume. These energy levels are well described by the $K$-matrix parameterization constrained by flavor SU(3) symmetry. With the parameters from the best fits, the poles extracted from the $K$-matrix parameterization closely correspond to those derived from the underlying chiral effective field theory, as long as they are close to physical region and not significantly higher than the lowest relevant threshold.

$χ_{b}(3P)$ Multiplet Revisited: Ultrafine Mass Splitting and Radiative Transitions

Abstract:Invoked by the recent CMS observation regarding candidates of the $\chi_b(3P)$ multiplet, we analyze the ultrafine and mass splittings among $3P$ multiplet in our unquenched quark model (UQM) studies. The mass difference of $\chi_{b2}$ and $\chi_{b1}$ in $3P$ multiplet measured by CMS collaboration ($10.6 \pm 0.64 \pm 0.17$ MeV) is very close to our theoretical prediction ($12$ MeV). Our corresponding mass splitting of $\chi_{b1}$ and $\chi_{b0}$ enables us to predict more precisely the mass of $\chi_{b0}(3P)$ to be ($10490\pm 3$) MeV. Moreover, we predict ratios of the radiative decays of $\chi_{bJ}(nP)$ candidates, both in UQM and quark potential model. Our predicted relative branching fraction of $\chi_{b0}(3P)\to\Upsilon(3S)\gamma$ is one order of magnitude smaller than $\chi_{b2}(3P)$, this naturally explains the non-observation of $\chi_{b0}(3P)$ in recent CMS search. We hope these results might provide useful references for forthcoming experimental searches.

Abstract:We systematically study hidden charm pentaquark states in the constituent quark model with a general Hamiltonian for multiquark systems, considering the coupling between the Σc(*)D ̄(*) molecular states and the q3cc ̄ compact pentaquark states by the one-gluon exchange hyperfine interaction. The ground state hidden-charm pentaquark mass spectra and the strong decay widths are calculated.
