Abstract:We study the existence of infinitely many solutions for the following quasilinear elliptic equations with critical growth: where b_ij∈ C^1(ℝ,ℝ) satisfies the growth condition |b_ij(t)|∼ |t|^2s-2 at infinity, s≥ 1 , Ω⊂ℝ^N is an open bounded domain with smooth boundary, a is a constant. Here we use the notations: D_i=∂/∂ x_i, b'_ij(t)=db_ij(t)/dt. We will study the effect of the terms a|v|^2s-2v and b_ij(v) on the existence of an unbounded sequence of solutions for (P). Here, we do not assume the crucial global monotone condition. We overcome the difficulties caused by the lack of such monotone condition by performing various kinds of changes of variables.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions for the singular problem where Ω ⊂ R n ( n ≥ 3 ) is a bounded domain with C 1 boundary, λ is a positive parameter, 0 < α ≤ 1 < p ≤ n and p * = n ⁢ p n - p is the critical exponent for Sobolev embedding. Using the fibering maps and the Nehari manifold, we prove the existence of at least two positive solutions for all values of the parameter λ belonging to an open bounded interval of R + .

Abstract:The set of positive solutions for some quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems was studied. The behavior of a unbounded component was also studied when real number is large. There exists a unique positive solution in the general bounded smooth domain when function of class is not increasing and is satisfying the conditions.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence, multiplicity and concentration behaviour of ground states for a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations with critical growth. By using a change of variables, the quasilinear equations are reduced to a semilinear one, whose associated functionals are well defined in the usual Sobolev space and satisfy the geometric conditions of the mountain pass theorem. We relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum value. The proofs are based on the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann theory and variational methods.

Abstract:We study positive solutions of an equation with singular nonlinearities. The equation arises in the study of equilibrium states of thin films. Under weak assumptions on the nonlinearity, we show that for N >= 3 there exists a family of radial solutions {u(alpha)}(alpha>0) with u(alpha)(0) = alpha and each of them is oscillatory in ( 0, infinity). We obtain then a singular radial solution in ( 0, infinity) by taking the limit alpha --> 0. Meanwhile, using the solutions obtained in ( 0, infinity), we show some existence results for the corresponding Neumann eigenvalue problem on a ball.

Abstract:In this article, we investigate generalized solutions for elliptic equations involving double-phase (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian operators with Hardy potential in variable exponent spaces. (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian operators include p -Laplacian, q -Laplacian, p(x) -Laplacian and q(x) -Laplacian operators. Additionally, (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian elliptic equations with singular coefficients under mixed boundary conditions are seldom mentioned in previous work. Some new theorems of the existence on the generalized solutions are reestablished for such equations via variational methods when the nonlinearity satisfies suitable hypotheses in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces.

The main contribution of this paper is the treatment of singular and supercritical nonlinearities on the right-hand side in the presence of the nonhomogeneous -Laplace operator. Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following critical quasilinear problems in RN: −∑i,j=1NDj(bij(v)Div)+12∑i,j=1Nbij′(v)DivDjv+a(x)v=μ|v|qs−2v+|v|2*s−2v,inRN,v(x)→0 as|x| →∞, where N ≥ 4, bij(v) ∼ 1 + |v|2s−2, s ≥ 1, μ > 0 is a constant, q < 2*, 2*=2NN−2 is the Sobolev critical exponent for the embedding of H1(RN) into Lp(RN), and a(x) is a potential function which is finite and positive and satisfies some decay assumptions. We first use the truncation to overcome the difficulties caused by both the unbounded domain and the critical exponents. Then we perform a change of variables to overcome the difficulty caused by the unboundness of bij. Finally a regularization approach combined with a compact argument helps us to prove the existence of infinitely many solutions.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following nonperiodic Hamiltonian elliptic system {−Δu+V(x)u=Rv(x,u,v)in RN,−Δv+V(x)v=Ru(x,u,v)in RN,u(x)→0andv(x)→0as |x|→∞, where R(x,z) is superquadratic in z as |z|→∞ with z=(u,v). Abstract:We study a boundary value elliptic problem having a lower order nonlinear term with subquadratic growth in the gradient of the solution and possibly singular when the solution vanishes. If the singularity is mild enough (and even in the absence of the singularity), we prove an existence and multiplicity result. On the contrary, we prove an existence and uniqueness result for strong singularities.

Abstract:Existence and uniqueness results for large positive solutions are obtained for a class of quasilinear elliptic eigenvalue problems in general bounded smooth domains via a generalization of a sweeping principle of Serrin. The nonlinear terms of the problems can be negative in some intervals. The existence and structure of a mountain pass solution are also discussed. We show that this solution develops to a spike layer solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following singular quasilinear equation, where , $0<\beta <n$ , and f has critical exponential growth at infinity. We establish a compactness lemma for functional and develop some delicate analyses to deal with non-standard difficulties caused by singular term and the compactness issue. We introduce some natural assumptions on the nonlinearity f and obtain the existence of Mountain-pass type solution and ground state solution for above equation. Moreover, two distinct solutions, one has positive energy while the other one has negative energy, are established for the above equation with a perturbation.</n\)<>

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly establish the existence of at least three non-trivial solutions for a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic systems with Dirichlet boundary value or Neumann boundary value in a bounded domain $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N $ and $N\geq 1$. We exploit the method which is based on [6]. This method let us obtain the concrete open interval about the parameter $\lambda$. Since the quasilinear term depends on $u$ and $\nabla u$, it is necessary for our proofs to use the theory of monotone operators and the skill of adding one dimension to space.

Abstract:Existence and uniqueness of large positive solutions are obtained for a class of quasilinear elliptic Dirichlet problems in bounded smooth domains Ω with a large parameter λ. It is shown that a flat core of the large positive solution exists and its existence depends upon the smoothness of the nonlinearity. The distance between the flat core and ∂Ω is precisely measured as λ→∞.
