A Survey on the Core Technologies of MP4

Abstract:All information which includes scene, object and manage control in MPEG4 standard are encoded into binary format and saved into one streaming file which named .MP4 in streaming format. One MP4 file consists of those timing , structure, media information such as both video and audio express which relation with file media data’s timing sequence, and are connecting with each other with track technology. The paper surveys the core technologies of MP4 file’s which include scene description, object description, the correlation between scene description and object description, and both the constituent method and play technology over network for MP4 file. At last, we give a sample example which realizes Chinese display according to MPEG4 bit stream standard. Those can give a help for us on building MPEG4 streaming file and using MPEG4 streaming over local and network.
