Abstract: This paper presents the system description of the THUEE team for the NIST 2020 Speaker Recognition Evaluation (SRE) conversational telephone speech (CTS) challenge. The subsystems including ResNet74, ResNet152, and RepVGG-B2 are developed as speaker embedding extractors in this evaluation. We used combined AM-Softmax and AAM-Softmax based loss functions, namely CM-Softmax. We adopted a two-staged training strategy to further improve system performance. We fused all individual systems as our final submission. Our approach leads to excellent performance and ranks 1st in the challenge.

Abstract:In this paper, we present the system that THUEE submitted to NIST 2019 Speaker Recognition Evaluation CTS Challenge (SRE19). Similar to the previous SREs, domain mismatches, such as cross-lingual and cross-channel between the training sets and evaluation sets, remain the major challenges in this evaluation. To improve the robustness of our systems, we develop deeper and wider x-vector architectures. Besides, we use novel speaker discriminative embedding systems, hybrid multi-task learning architectures combined with phonetic information. To deal with domain mismatches, we follow a heuristic search scheme to select the best back-end strategy based on limited development corpus. An extended and factorized TDNN achieves the best single-system results on SRE18 DEV and SRE19 EVAL sets. The final system is a fusion of six subsystems, which yields EER 2.81% and minimum cost 0.262 on the SRE19 EVAL set.

Abstract:This paper introduces the system fusion of THU-EE for the NIST 2012 Speaker Recognition Evaluation (SRE12). In our approach, mean Z-norm, pseudo post probability T-norm and bi-criterion optimization are used. These methods mainly concern the changes of evaluation rules and limitation of our development data, which are the new problems for SRE12. Through post evaluation of SRE12 core test, the effectiveness of our approach is validated.

Abstract:This paper describes the systems developed by the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University for the NIST Language Recognition Evaluation 2015. We submitted one primary and three alternative systems for the fixed training data evaluation and didn't take part in the open training data evaluation for our limited data resources and computation capability. Both the primary system and three alternative systems are fusions of multiple subsystems. The primary system and alternative systems are identical except for the training, development and fusion data. The subsystems are different in feature, statistical modeling or backend approach. The features of our subsystems include MFCC, PLP, TFC, PNCC and Fbank. The statistical modeling of our subsystems can be roughly categorized into four types: i-vector, deep neural network, multiple coordinate sequence kernel (MCSK) and phoneme recognizer followed by vector space models (PR-VSM). The backend approach includes LDA-Gaussian, SVM and extreme learning machine (ELM). Finally, these subsystems are fused by the FoCal toolkit. Our primary system is presented and briefly discussed. Post-key analyses are also addressed, including comparison of different features, modeling backend approaches and a study of their contribution to the whole performance. The processing speed for each subsystem is also given in the paper.

Abstract:After a various of comparison among possible speech processingapproaches, we present and developed a speaker recognition system(SRS). The six Chinese single vowels are selected as the test elements of our models. The computer speech analysis techniques adopted in this system include short-time power and short-time average zero-cross rate test, cepstrum analysis and linear prediction coding, which are used to detect the start-end points of speech and to get the characteristic parameters of the speaker. This system is implemented under MATLAB and Windows environment and has perfect recognition results.

Abstract:Albayzin 2012 language recognition evaluation (LRE) is one of the most challenging language recognition evaluation, which is mainly reflected in: (1) the target languages are more confusable with other languages, which might push down the system performance; (2) developing and test data is heterogeneous regarding duration, number of speakers, ambient noise/music, channel conditions, etc. (3) signals may contain noise, background music and any kind of nonhuman sounds. To solve these problem, in Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University (THUEE) system we develop (1) 47-phoneme English Gaussian mixture model-hidden Markov model (GMM-HMM) decoder with background noise model for voice activity detection (2) noisy and clean model separately and fusing the weighted model (3) linear discriminant analysis-minimal mutual information (LDA-MMI)+Multifocal fusion method to improve the LRE system performance and the system yielded Fact = 0.1513 in empty training closed-set tests. © 2013 IEEE.

Abstract:This paper describes the Royalflush speaker diarization system submitted to the Multi-channel Multi-party Meeting Transcription Challenge(M2MeT). Our system comprises speech enhancement, overlapped speech detection, speaker embedding extraction, speaker clustering, speech separation and system fusion. In this system, we made three contributions. First, we propose an architecture of combining the multi-channel and U-Net-based models, aiming at utilizing the benefits of these two individual architectures, for far-field overlapped speech detection. Second, in order to use overlapped speech detection model to help speaker diarization, a speech separation based overlapped speech handling approach, in which the speaker verification technique is further applied, is proposed. Third, we explore three speaker embedding methods, and obtained the state-of-the-art performance on the CNCeleb-E test set. With these proposals, our best individual system significantly reduces DER from 15.25% to 6.40%, and the fusion of four systems finally achieves a DER of 6.30% on the far-field Alimeeting evaluation set.

Abstract:The OpenKWS14 keyword search evaluation is one of the most challenging and influential evaluations in the field of speech recognition. Its goal is to build a high-performance keyword search system for a minority language with limited training data in a short period of time. We present the system of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University (THUEE team) for the OpenKWS14 keyword search evaluation. The highlights of the system include the use of convolutional maxout neural networks for acoustic modeling and the use of neural network language models for one-pass lattice generation. The final system is a fusion of 8 sub-systems. The system has achieved an actual term weighted value (ATWV) of 0.5107 for the full language pack (FullLP) condition in the evaluation, ranking third among the participating teams.

Abstract:This paper describes our speaker diarization system submitted to the Multi-channel Multi-party Meeting Transcription (M2MeT) challenge, where Mandarin meeting data were recorded in multi-channel format for diarization and automatic speech recognition (ASR) tasks. In these meeting scenarios, the uncertainty of the speaker number and the high ratio of overlapped speech present great challenges for diarization. Based on the assumption that there is valuable complementary information between acoustic features, spatial-related and speaker-related features, we propose a multi-level feature fusion mechanism based target-speaker voice activity detection (FFM-TS-VAD) system to improve the performance of the conventional TS-VAD system. Furthermore, we propose a data augmentation method during training to improve the system robustness when the angular difference between two speakers is relatively small. We provide comparisons for different sub-systems we used in M2MeT challenge. Our submission is a fusion of several sub-systems and ranks second in the diarization task.

The DKU-MSXF Speaker Verification System for the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2023

Abstract:This paper is the system description of the DKU-MSXF System for the track1, track2 and track3 of the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2023 (VoxSRC-23). For Track 1, we utilize a network structure based on ResNet for training. By constructing a cross-age QMF training set, we achieve a substantial improvement in system performance. For Track 2, we inherite the pre-trained model from Track 1 and conducte mixed training by incorporating the VoxBlink-clean dataset. In comparison to Track 1, the models incorporating VoxBlink-clean data exhibit a performance improvement by more than 10% relatively. For Track3, the semi-supervised domain adaptation task, a novel pseudo-labeling method based on triple thresholds and sub-center purification is adopted to make domain adaptation. The final submission achieves mDCF of 0.1243 in task1, mDCF of 0.1165 in Track 2 and EER of 4.952% in Track 3.

Abstract:This paper describes the performance of the 14U speaker recognition system in the NIST 2008 Speaker Recognition Evaluation. The system consists of seven subsystems, each with different cepstral features and classifiers. We describe the 14U Primary system and report on its core test results as they were submitted, which were among the best-performing submissions. The 14U effort was led by the Institute for Infocomm Research, Singapore (IIR), with contributions from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of New South Wales, Australia (UNSW), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and Carnegie Mellon University, USA (CMU).
The THU-HCSI Multi-Speaker Multi-Lingual Few-Shot Voice Cloning System for LIMMITS'24 Challenge

Abstract:This paper presents the multi-speaker multi-lingual few-shot voice cloning system developed by THU-HCSI team for LIMMITS'24 Challenge. To achieve high speaker similarity and naturalness in both mono-lingual and cross-lingual scenarios, we build the system upon YourTTS and add several enhancements. For further improving speaker similarity and speech quality, we introduce speaker-aware text encoder and flow-based decoder with Transformer blocks. In addition, we denoise the few-shot data, mix up them with pre-training data, and adopt a speaker-balanced sampling strategy to guarantee effective fine-tuning for target speakers. The official evaluations in track 1 show that our system achieves the best speaker similarity MOS of 4.25 and obtains considerable naturalness MOS of 3.97.

Abstract:This paper describes our submission to ICASSP 2022 Multi-channel Multi-party Meeting Transcription (M2MeT) Challenge. For Track 1, we propose several approaches to make the clustering-based speaker diarization system enable to handle overlapped speech. Front-end dereverberation and the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation are used to improve the accuracy of speaker diarization. Multi-channel combination and overlap detection are applied to reduce the missed speaker error. A modified DOVER-Lap is also proposed to fuse the results from different systems. We achieve the final DER of 5.79% on the Eval set and 7.23% on the Test set, which ranks 4th in the diarization challenge. For Track 2, we develop our system using the Conformer model in a joint CTC-attention architecture. Serialized output training (SOT) is adopted to multi-speaker overlapped speech recognition. We propose a neural front-end module to model multi-channel audio and train the model end-to-end. Various data augmentation methods are utilized to mitigate over-fitting in the multi-channel multi-speaker E2E system. Transformer language model fusion is developed to achieve better performance. The final CER is 19.2% on the Eval set and 20.8% on the Test set, which ranks 2nd in the ASR challenge.

Abstract:This report describes the submission of the DKU-DukeECE-Lenovo team to the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge (VoxSRC) 2021 track 4. Our system including a voice activity detection (VAD) model, a speaker embedding model, two clustering-based speaker diarization systems with different similarity measurements, two different overlapped speech detection (OSD) models, and a target-speaker voice activity detection (TS-VAD) model. Our final submission, consisting of 5 independent systems, achieves a DER of 5.07% on the challenge test set.

Abstract:This paper describes the XMUSPEECH speaker recognition and diarisation systems for the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2021. For track 2, we evaluate two systems including ResNet34-SE and ECAPA-TDNN. For track 4, an important part of our system is VAD module which greatly improves the performance. Our best submission on the track 4 obtained on the evaluation set DER 5.54% and JER 27.11%, while the performance on the development set is DER 2.92% and JER 20.84%.

Abstract:We propose two improvements to target-speaker voice activity detection (TS-VAD), the core component in our proposed speaker diarization system that was submitted to the 2022 Multi-Channel Multi-Party Meeting Transcription (M2MeT) challenge. These techniques are designed to handle multi-speaker conversations in real-world meeting scenarios with high speaker-overlap ratios and under heavy reverberant and noisy condition. First, for data preparation and augmentation in training TS-VAD models, speech data containing both real meetings and simulated indoor conversations are used. Second, in refining results obtained after TS-VAD based decoding, we perform a series of post-processing steps to improve the VAD results needed to reduce diarization error rates (DERs). Tested on the ALIMEETING corpus, the newly released Mandarin meeting dataset used in M2MeT, we demonstrate that our proposed system can decrease the DER by up to 66.55/60.59% relatively when compared with classical clustering based diarization on the Eval/Test set.

Abstract:In this report, we describe our submitted system for track 2 of the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2022 (VoxSRC-22). We fuse a variety of good-performing models ranging from supervised models to self-supervised learning(SSL) pre-trained models. The supervised models, trained using VoxCeleb-2 dev data, consist of ECAPA-TDNN and Res2Net in a very deep structure. The SSL pre-trained models, wav2vec and wavLM, are trained using large scale unlabeled speech data up to million hours. These models are cascaded with ECAPA-TDNN and further fine-tuned in a supervised fashion to extract the speaker representations. All 13 models are applied with score normalization and calibration and then fused into the the submitted system. We also explore the audio quality measures in the calibration stage such as duration, SNR, T60, and MOS. The best submitted system achieves 0.073 in minDCF and 1.436% in EER on the VoxSRC-22 evaluation set.
