As an application, on every toric Fano surface, we prove that \KRf converges to a Kähler Ricci soliton metric if the initial metric has toric symmetry. Therefore we give a new Ricci flow proof of existence of Kähler Ricci soliton metrics on toric surfaces.

Abstract:Suppose {( M , g ( t )), 0 ≤ t < ∞} is a Kähler Ricci flow solution on a Fano surface. If | Rm | is not uniformly bounded along this flow, we can blowup at the maximal curvature points to obtain a limit complete Riemannian manifold X . We show that X must have certain topological and geometric properties. Using these properties, we are able to prove that | Rm | is uniformly bounded along every Kähler Ricci flow on toric Fano surface, whose initial metric has toric symmetry. In particular, such a Kähler Ricci flow must converge to a Kähler Ricci soliton metric. Therefore we give a new Ricci flow proof of the existence of Kähler Ricci soliton metrics on toric Fano surfaces.

We show that under some conditions, the convergence of Kähler Ricci flow is determined by the properties of the anticanonical divisors of $M$. As examples, the Kähler Ricci flow on $M$ converges when $M$ is a Fano surface and $c_1^2(M)=1$ or $c_1^2(M)=3$. Combined with the work in \cite{CW1} and \cite{CW2}, this gives a Ricci flow proof of the Calabi conjecture on Fano surfaces with reductive automorphism groups. The original proof of this conjecture is due to Gang Tian.

Abstract:We show the convergence of Kähler Ricci flow directly if the α -invariant of the canonical class is greater than n/n+1 . Applying these convergence theorems, we can give a Kähler Ricci flow proof of Calabi conjecture on such Fano manifolds. In particular, the existence of KE metrics on a lot of Fano surfaces can be proved by flow method. Note that this geometric conclusion (based on the same assumption) was established earlier via elliptic method by Tian (Invent. Math. 89(2):225–246, 1987 ; Invent. Math. 101(1):101–172, 1990 ; Invent. Math. 130:1–39, 1997 ). However, a new proof based on Kähler Ricci flow should be still interesting in its own right.

Abstract:We prove the longtime existence and convergence of the Calabi flow on toric Fano surfaces in a large family of Kahler classes where the class has positive extremal Hamiltonian potential and the initial Calabi energy is bounded by some constant. Abstract:The existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics on a compact Kähler manifold hasbeen the subject of intensive study over the last few decades, following Yau'ssolution to Calabi's conjecture. The Ricci flow, introduced by Richard Hamiltonhas become one of the most powerful tools in geometric analysis. We study the Kähler-Ricci flow on minimal surfaces of Kodaira dimension oneand show that the flow collapses and converges to a unique canonical metric onits canonical model. Such a canonical is a generalized Kähler-Einsteinmetric. Combining the results of Cao, Tsuji, Tian and Zhang, we give a metricclassification for Käher surfaces with a numerical effective canonical linebundle by the Kähler-Ricci flow. In general, we propose a program of findingcanonical metrics on canonical models of projective varieties of positiveKodaira dimension.

Abstract:We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.

Abstract: In our previous paper math.DG/0010008, we develop some new techniques in attacking the convergence problems for the K\"ahler Ricci flow. The one of main ideas is to find a set of new functionals on curvature tensors such that the Ricci flow is the gradient like flow of these functionals. We successfully find such functionals in case of Kaehler manifolds. On K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has positive bisectional curvature, we prove that these functionals have a uniform lower bound, via the effective use of Tian's inequality. Consequently, we prove the following theorem: Let $M$ be a K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature. If the initial metric has nonnegative bisectional curvature and positive at least at one point, then the K\"ahler Ricci flow will converge exponentially fast to a K\"ahler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. Such a result holds for K\"ahler-Einstein orbifolds.

Abstract:. In this paper, we prove that if M is a Kähler-Einstein surface with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has nonnegative sectional curvature, and the curvature is positive somewhere, then the Kähler-Ricci flow converges to a Kähler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. In a subsequent paper [7], we prove the same result for general Kähler-Einstein manifolds in all dimension. This gives an affirmative answer to a long standing problem in Kähler Ricci flow: On a compact Kähler-Einstein manifold, does the Kähler-Ricci flow converge to a Kähler-Einstein metric if the initial metric has a positive bisectional curvature? Our main method is to find a set of new functionals which are essentially decreasing under the Kähler Ricci flow while they have uniform lower bounds. This property gives the crucial estimate we need to tackle this problem.

Abstract:On a Fano manifold, we prove that the Kahler-Ricci flow starting from a Kahler metric in the anti-canonical class which is sufficiently close to a Kahler-Einstein metric must converge in a polynomial rate to a Kahler-Einstein metric. The convergence can not happen in general if we study the flow on the level of Kahler potentials. Instead we exploit the interpretation of the Ricci flow as the gradient flow of Perelman's \mu functional. This involves modifying the Ricci flow by a canonical family of gauges. In particular, the complex structure of the limit could be different in general. The main technical ingredient is a Lojasiewicz type inequality for Perelman's \mu functional near a critical point.
