Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:Throughout this paper, we consider the equationu(t) - Delta u = e(vertical bar del u vertical bar)with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. One of our main goals is to show that the existence of global classical solution can derive the existence of classical stationary solution, and the global solution must converge to the stationary solution in C ((Omega) over bar). On the contrary, the existence of the stationary solution also implies the global existence of the classical solution at least in the radial case. The other one is to show that finite time gradient blowup will occur for large initial data or domains with small measure.

Abstract:Under the conditions of both the initial data being the small perturbation of given steady state solution and the boundary strength being small, the global existence of smooth solution to the initial boundary value problem of the relativistic Euler-Poisson equations is proved. The convergence of the global smooth solution to smooth steady state solution in time exponentially is also obtained when time goes to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, the global existence of smooth solutions for the three-dimensional bipolar hydrodynamic model is studied when the initial data are close to a constant state. The L2-decay rate of the solutions is also obtained. Our approach is based on the detailed analysis of the Green function of the linearized system and the elaborate energy estimates. As far as we known, it is the first result about the existence and L2-decay rate of global smooth solutions to the multi-dimensional bipolar hydrodynamic model.

Abstract:We consider smooth periodic solutions for the Euler-Maxwell equations, which are a symmetrizable hyperbolic system of balance laws. We proved that as the relaxation time tends to zero, the Euler-Maxwell system converges to the drift-diffusion equations at least locally in time. The global existence of smooth solutions is established near a constant state with an asymptotic stability property.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the blowup phenomenon of stochastic delayed evolution equations. We first establish the sufficient condition to ensure the existence of a unique nonnegative solution of stochastic parabolic equations. Then the problem of blow-up solutions in mean L-q-norm, q 1, in a finite time is considered. The main aim in this article is to investigate the effect of time delay and stochastic term. A new result shows that the stochastic delayed term can induce singularities.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the global existence and the large -time behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem of the full Euler system with damping and radiative effects around some constant equilibrium states. It is well-known that the solutions may blow up in finite time without the additional damping and radiative effects, and the global existence of the solutions obtained in this paper shows that these two effects together prevent the formation of the singularity when the initial perturbation is small. Combining the Green's function method and energy estimates, we consider the pointwise structures of the solutions to obtain a precise description of the system. The construction of the Green's function includes three steps: singularity removal, long wave -short wave decomposition and weighted energy estimate. Finally, we achieve the pointwise estimates of the solutions in the small perturbation framework by Duhamel's principle, the pointwise structure of the Green's function established for the linearized equations and bounded estimates for higher order derivatives of the solutions together.

Abstract:We study the global existence and asymptotic behavior of smooth solutions near a non-flat steady state to the compressible non-isentropic Euler-Poisson system in R-3. Using some concise energy estimates and an interpolation trick, we show that the solution converges to the stationary solution exponentially fast. Here our results can follow from that the H-3 norms of the initial density, velocity and temperature are small. In this sense, we reduce the regularity of the initial temperature in [Y.P. Li, J. Differential Equations, 225:134-167, 2006].

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the global existence and blowup of smooth solutions of the 3-D irrotational compressible Euler equation with time-dependent damping {partial derivative(t)rho + div(rho u) = 0, partial derivative(t)(rho u) + div(rho u circle times u + pI(3) = -alpha(t)rho u, rho(0, x) = (rho) over bar + epsilon rho(0)(x), u(0, x) = epsilon u(0)(x), where x is an element of R-3, the frictional coefficient alpha(t) = mu/(1+t)(lambda) with mu > 0 and lambda >= 0, (rho) over bar > 0 is a constant, rho(0), u(0) is an element of C-0(infinity) (R-3), (rho(0), u(0)) not equivalent to 0, rho(0, x) > 0, curl u(0) equivalent to 0, and epsilon > 0 is sufficiently small. For 0 <= lambda <= 1, we show that there exists a global C-infinity([0, infinity) x R-3)-smooth solution (rho, u) by introducing and establishing some uniform time-weighted energy estimates of (rho, u), while for lambda > 1, in general, the smooth solution (rho, u) blows up in finite time. Therefore, lambda = 1 appears to be the critical value for the global existence of small amplitude smooth solution (rho, u).

Abstract:This work is concerned with the global existence of large solutions to the three-dimensional dissipative fluid-dynamical model, which is a strongly coupled nonlinear nonlocal system characterized by the incompressible Navier--Stokes--Poisson--Nernst--Planck equations. Making full use of the algebraic structure of the system, we obtain the global existence of solutions without smallness assumptions imposed on the third component of the initial velocity field and the summation of initial densities of charged species. Abstract:We considered classical solutions to the initial boundary value problem for non-isentropic compressible Euler equations with damping in multi-dimensions. We obtained global a priori estimates and global existence results of classical solutions to both non-isentropic Euler equations with damping and their nonlinear diffusion equations under small data assumption. We proved the pressure and velocity decay exponentially to constants, while the entropy and density can not approach constants. Finally, we proved the pressure and velocity of the non-isentropic Euler equations with damping converge exponentially to those of their nonlinear diffusion equations when the time goes to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for a class of complex conservation laws, which is introduced by P.D. Lax and essentially a class of quasilinear hyperbolic systems in two space dimensions. For a kind of flux functions, we prove the global existence of smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem with small initial data. On the other hand, for different kinds of flux functions, we give some estimates on the lower bound of the life span of smooth solutions.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the global existence and stability of solutions to the initial-boundary-value problem for a coupled system of two quasi-linear viscoelastic equations with variable exponents. For general initial data and variables exponents, we establish a global existence theorem of solutions to the initial-boundary-value problem by virtue of some new functionals. Moreover, using the Sobolev embedding inequality, the Poincare inequality, and other in-equalities and estimation techniques, we obtain the uniform exponential decay rate for the solution energy of the coupled system of two quasilinear viscoelastic equations.

Abstract:We consider a one-dimensional semilinear parabolic equation with exponential gradient source and provide a complete classification of large time behavior of the classical solutions: either the space derivative of the solution blows up in finite time with the solution itself remaining bounded or the solution is global and converges in C-1 norm to the unique steady state. The main difficulty is to prove C-1 boundedness of all global solutions. To do so, we explicitly compute a nontrivial Lyapunov's functional by carrying out the method of Zelenyak.
