Theoretical Framework of Open-Disruptive Innovation:An Innovation Paradigm Applicable to Developing Countries

Abstract:Manufacturing enterprises play a fundamental role in the national economy .Through the practice in innovation , the manufacturers in China have achieved some core technologies and products .During the implement of technology inno‐vation and catch‐up strategy ,the enterprises tend to focus on radical innovation .However the results of recent research indicate a high rate of failure in the radical innovation .This paper illustrates the obstacles of implementing the radical in‐novation in the developing countries and discuss on a new strategy‐open‐disruptive innovation (ODI) through literature and case study .ODI could help the enterprises in developing countries achieve the innovative products and core competence more easily .ODI is the theoretical refinement of more than 30 years innovation practice in China ,and applicable to the en‐terprises in other developing countries .
