Influencing Factors of Firm's Centrality in Innovation Coordination Network

Abstract:This paper constructs the patent coordination network and paper-patent coordination network using the patent co-ownership data and the paper co-authorship data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2010to 2017by the social network method.By regressing on degree centrality, closeness centrality and betweenness centrality of firms in the innovation coordination network, it finds and explains that the firm's market structure (i.e.firm size and industry concentration) and corporate governance factors (i.e.ownership concentration, institutional ownership, SOE, management stockholding and compensation, board size and independence) have complicated effects on the depth and breadth of its external innovation coordination and its importance in innovation network.
