Evaluation of Housing Distribution Fairness Based on Relative Deprivation Index

Abstract:The paper constructs the housing relative deprivation index for evaluating the degree of housing distribution fairness among China’s urban households,and analyzes tegional differences of housing distribution fairness. Results show that there has been a decline of housing distribution fairness in urban from 2008 to 2013. Eastern and Western regions suffered a greater decline of housing distribution fairness in the pastfive years. And housing distribution in Central region was fairer than that in Eastern and Western regions. The government should improve housing security and housing provident fund to improve the housing conditions of low-income housing difficult families and promote fairness of housing distribution.
