Abstract:ZigBee is a low-rate, low-power consumption and low-cost wireless standard. It is suitable for the Home Automation (HA) wireless sensor network (WSN). In this paper, the ZigBee technology is introduced. A Home Automation system based on the CC2430 chip is designed. The structure of the HA WSN system, network topology, design of the hardware and software are also described in the paper. Through the experiment, this wireless network system is proved feasible and practical.

It explores the concept and components of smart homes, followed by a detailed examination of the operational mechanisms and unique features of three prevalent wireless systems: Bluetooth-based, WiFi-based, and cloud-based solutions. The discussion extends to the current state of these technologies, highlighting their advantages and the specific challenges they face in smart home implementations. Comparative insights reveal the distinct benefits and potential drawbacks associated with each system, offering a comprehensive understanding of their impact on smart home functionality. The article concludes with a synthesis of findings and reflections on the future trajectory of wireless technologies in enhancing smart home environments.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the current mainstream solutions of smart homes, discusses the necessity and feasibility of introducing both industrial control standards and industrial control technology into the field of home intelligence, determines the design goals, and proposes a new wireless smart home solution. (The new solution is as follows: The hardware is made up of android smart phones, PLC, WiFi communication module, etc. And the master server class library based on Modbus TCP is developed. And therefore, wireless online and real-time control of household appliances through Modbus TCP communication and SMS messaging is realized.) The paper then discusses the innovative points, advantages and application fields of the solution. Finally, it is concluded that the new scheme has high security and reliability, and is scientific, innovative, and practical. It has certain reference significance for the development of smart home technology.

Abstract:Recent years have witnessed the emergence of machine-to-machine (M2M) networks as an efficient means for providing automated communications among distributed devices. Automated M2M communications can offset the overhead costs of conventional operations, thus promoting their wider adoption in fixed and mobile platforms equipped with embedded processors and sensors/actuators. In this paper, we survey M2M technologies for applications such as healthcare, energy management and entertainment. In particular, we examine the typical architectures of home M2M networks and discuss the performance tradeoffs in existing designs. Our investigation covers quality of service, energy efficiency and security issues. Moreover, we review existing home networking projects to better understand the real-world applicability of these systems. This survey contributes to better understanding of the challenges in existing M2M networks and further shed new light on future research directions.

Abstract:In light of its many benefits, home automation systems are one of the subjects that are becoming ever more prevalent. The term "home automation" describes the remote monitoring and management of household equipment. The Internet and its usages are constantly expanding, which means there is a lot of room for remote access, management, and surveillance of these network-enabled systems. Nowadays, scientists and researchers are developing cutting-edge prototypes of home automation system which includes smart lighting system, smart kitchen, smart fire protection devices, smart lawn mower, smart health monitor system and so on. Each automated system's primary objective is its ability to reduce human labor, effort, time, and mistakes brought on by carelessness. The objective of this study is to provide in-depth evaluation of the newly developed home automation system. Moreover, state-of-the-art home automation topologies such as ZigBee, Z-wave, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also discussed here. The authors are optimistic that this study would have a major impact on the present advances in home automation technology.

Abstract:Degree of acceptance to a home automation network by the consumers depends greatly on how easy it is to use. Plug-and-play is a good way. In this paper, a home automation network which has a five-layer protocol, appliance profiles, and a hand-held remote controller to support PnP is proposed. Its five-layer protocol model is discussed, the detailed specification of the three layers supporting PnP is presented, and an example is given to demonstrate how PnP works.

Abstract:The limited spectrum resource, the inefficient spectrum utilization and the in-band interference from domestic appliances necessitate a new communication paradigm in wireless digital home networks (WDHNs). In this paper, we propose the network and protocol architectures of wireless digital home networks based on cognitive radio technology, which exploits licensed or unlicensed spectrum and enables dynamic spectrum access in wireless networks. The functionalities and components of the proposed protocol architecture are also presented in details.

Abstract:Home automation system has achieved an enormous reputation in recent years, as day-to-day life is getting simpler due to the speedy growth of modern technology. Various implemented systems have been offered in the sphere of Home Automation but have apparently failed to provide cost-effective solutions for the same. In this paper, we provide a low-cost smart Home Automation and Security System (HASS) using Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi), and Bluetooth. These materialize the concept of internetworking of smart devices. A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) based on Wi-Fi is considered to monitor and control the smart environment, safety as well as electrical parameters of a smart interconnected home. The Android application-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) on a Smartphone is used to give facility to users for seamless control over the devices in a smart home. It may also consist of home security for example access control and alarm systems. When connected to the Internet, home devices are an important element of the Internet of Things (IoT). Home security includes both the security hardware placed on a property and individuals' personal security practices. Security devices consist of a door locking, alert alarm, lighting, motion detectors, and security camera system. Additionally, several special features include such as ensuring windows are closed, each door is locked, all alarms are activated, and extra keys are not secret outside.

Abstract:Technology is a large scale and very fast growing process. We can use current technology to create products that benefit other people's lives. This is a great contribution to the community. The " Internet of Things "is rapidly becoming a disruptive technology business opportunity, most notably the creation of standards for wireless communication between devices and gadgets, commonly referred to as things, in human everyday life. This paper introduces a new technology for controlling home appliances and building an intelligent wireless home security system using Wi-Fi as the communication protocol. Home automation can be implemented using various types of wireless communication technologies such as ZigBee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GSM. The above existing methods have drawbacks as they work in short range. To overcome these shortcomings, the developed system is integrated into a single portable unit, enabling wireless control of lighting, fans, air conditioners, televisions, surveillance cameras, electronic doors, computer systems, audio-visual equipment, etc., as well as turning on or off the devices connected to the outlet and obtaining the status of various sensors to make appropriate decisions. The system is portable and designed for easy installation, configuration, operation and maintenance. This document implements RTC- based home automation. Here we can set the load-on and load-off timings here. Loading is timed. This makes it even more convenient for disabled and elderly people.
