Abstract:4707Background: The A-kinase anchor protein 9 (AKAP9), Seizure 6-like (SEZ6L), and the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinase 1, alpha (CAMKK1) are proteins involved in multiple signal transduction pathways. Previous studies by others suggested that polymorphisms in the AKAP9, SEZ6L, and CAMKK1 genes may confer susceptibility to cancers. We evaluated the associations between the genetic variants in the AKAP9, SEZ6L, CAMKK1 genes and lung cancer risk. Methods: Polymorphisms of AKAP9 (M463I, rs6964587), CAMKK1 (E357G, rs7214723), SEZ6L (M430I, rs663048) were determined in 2392 Caucasian patients with histologically confirmed lung cancers and 1458 healthy controls.
