Abstract:For an upper triangular matrix ring, an explicit ladder of height 2 of triangle functors between homotopy categories is constructed. Under certain conditions, the author obtains a localization sequence of homotopy categories of acyclic complexes of injective modules.

Abstract:We study E1 resonances, breakup and fusion reactions for weakly bound Be nuclei. The absorbing-boundary condition (ABC) is used to describe both the outgoing and incoming boundary conditions. The neutron continuum plays important roles in response and reaction of neutron drip-line nuclei.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{X}$ be a resolving and contravariantly finite subcategory of $\rm{mod}\mbox{-}\Lambda$, the category of finitely generated right $\Lambda$-modules. We associate to $\mathcal{X}$ the subcategory $\mathcal{S}_{\mathcal{X}}(\Lambda)$ of the morphism category $\rm{H}(\Lambda)$ consisting of all monomorphisms $(A\stackrel{f}\rightarrow B)$ with $A, B$ and $\rm{Cok} \ f$ in $\mathcal{\mathcal{X}}$. Since $\mathcal{S}_{\mathcal{X}}(\Lambda)$ is closed under extensions then it inherits naturally an exact structure from $\rm{H}(\Lambda)$. We will define two other different exact structures else than the canonical one on $\mathcal{S}_{\mathcal{X}}(\Lambda)$, and the indecomposable projective (resp. injective) objects in the corresponding exact categories completely classified. Enhancing $\mathcal{S}_{\mathcal{X}}(\Lambda)$ with the new exact structure provides a framework to construct a triangle functor. Let $\rm{mod}\mbox{-}\underline{\mathcal{X}}$ denote the category of finitely presented functors over the stable category $\underline{\mathcal{X}}$. We then use the triangle functor to show a triangle equivalence between the bounded derived category $\mathbb{D}^{\rm{b}}(\rm{mod}\mbox{-}\underline{\mathcal{X}})$ and a Verdier quotient of the bounded derived category of the associated exact category on $\mathcal{S}_{\mathcal{X}}(\Lambda)$. Similar consideration is also given for the singularity category of $\rm{mod}\mbox{-}\underline{\mathcal{X}}$.

Abstract:We provide explicit and unified formulas for the cocycles of all degrees on the normalized bar resolutions of finite abelian groups. This is achieved by constructing a chain map from the normalized bar resolution to a Koszul-like resolution for any given finite abelian group. With a help of the obtained cocycle formulas, we determine all the braided linear Gr-categories and compute the Dijkgraaf-Witten Invariants of then-torus for alln.

Abstract:Given two complete hereditary cotorsion pairs (Q,R) and (Q′,R′) in a bicomplete abelian category G such that Q′⊆Q and Q∩R=Q′∩R′, Becker showed that there exists a hereditary abelian model structure M=(Q,W,R′) on G, where W is a thick subcategory of G. We prove that the homotopy category Ho(M) of M is triangulated equivalent to the triangulated quotient category Db(G)[Q,R′]ˆ/Kb(Q′∩R′), where Db(G)[Q,R′]ˆ is the subcategory of Db(G) consisting of all homology bounded complexes with both finite Q dimension and R′ dimension and Kb(Q′∩R′) is the bounded homotopy category of Q′∩R′ (core) objects. Applications are given in the category of modules. It is shown that the homotopy category of the Gorenstein flat (resp., Ding projective and Gorenstein AC-projective) model structure on the category of modules established by Gillespie and his coauthors can be realized as a certain triangulated quotient category.

Abstract:Recollements of derived module categories are investigated, using a new technique, ladders of recollements, which are maximal mutation sequences. The position in the ladder is shown to control whether a recollement restricts from unbounded to another level of derived category. Ladders also turn out to control derived simplicity on all levels. An algebra is derived simple if its derived category cannot be deconstructed, that is, if it is not the middle term of a non-trivial recollement whose outer terms are again derived categories of algebras. Derived simplicity on each level is characterised in terms of heights of ladders. These results are complemented by providing new classes of examples of derived simple rings, in particular indecomposable commutative rings, as well as by a finite dimensional counterexample to the Jordan–Hölder problem for derived module categories. Moreover, recollements are used to compute homological and K-theoretic invariants.

Abstract:Let R be a right coherent ring and D b ( R -Mod) the bounded derived category of left R -modules. Denote by D^b( R - Mod)_[ GF,C] the subcategory of D b ( R -Mod) consisting of all complexes with both finite Gorenstein flat dimension and cotorsion dimension and K b ( F ∩ C ) the bounded homotopy category of flat cotorsion left R-modules. We prove that the quotient triangulated category D^b( R - Mod)_[ GF,C] / K b ( F ∩ C ) is triangle-equivalent to the stable category GF ∩ C of the Frobenius category of all Gorenstein flat and cotorsion left R-modules.

Abstract:We introduce a notion of stratification for big tensor-triangulated categories relative to the homological spectrum and develop the fundamental features of this theory. In particular, we demonstrate that it exhibits excellent descent properties. In conjunction with Balmer's Nerves of Steel conjecture, we conclude that stratification admits a general form of descent. This gives a uniform treatment of several recent stratification results and provides a complete answer to the question: When does stratification descend? As a new application, we extend earlier work on the tensor triangular geometry of equivariant module spectra from finite groups to compact Lie groups.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{T}$ be an algebraic triangulated category and $\mathcal{C}$ an extension-closed subcategory with $\operatorname{Hom}(\mathcal{C}, \Sigma^{<0} \mathcal{C})=0$. Then $\mathcal{C}$ has an exact structure induced from exact triangles in $\mathcal{T}$. Keller and Vossieck say that there exists a triangle functor $\operatorname{D}^b(\mathcal{C}) \to \mathcal{T}$ extending the inclusion $\mathcal{C} \subseteq \mathcal{T}$. We provide the missing details for a complete proof.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the homotopy categories [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] with respect to a complete and hereditary cotorsion pair [Formula: see text] in a bicomplete abelian category. We prove that [Formula: see text] is compactly generated provided that [Formula: see text] is compactly generated. We introduce and characterize Gorenstein [Formula: see text]-complexes with respect to [Formula: see text] and show that a complex is a Gorenstein [Formula: see text]-complex if and only if its every term is a Gorenstein [Formula: see text]-object. We also show that the inclusion functors [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] have right adjoints respectively when [Formula: see text] is compactly generated.

Abstract:We introduce two novel complementary notions of the Lefschetz number for a functor from a finite acyclic category to itself and we prove a Lefschetz fixed-object theorem and a Lefschetz fixed-morphism theorem. In order to do so, we use the connection between these type of categories and simplicial structures, such as trisps or delta complexes. Through the use of a pair of functors that, when composed, form the barycentric subdivision, we are not only able to identify fixed objects but also fixed chains of morphisms.

Abstract:Connections between heaps of modules and (affine) modules over rings are explored. This leads to explicit, often constructive, descriptions of some categorical constructions and properties that are implicit in universal algebra and algebraic theories. In particular, it is shown that the category of groups with a compatible action of a truss T (also called pointed T-modules) is isomorphic to the category of modules over the ring R(T) universally associated to the truss. This is widely used in the explicit description of free objects. Next, it is proven that the category of heaps of modules over T is isomorphic to the category of affine modules over R(T) and, in order to make the picture complete, that (in the unital case) these are in turn equivalent to a specific subcategory of the slice category of pointed T-modules over R(T). These correspondences and properties are then used to describe explicitly various (co)limits and to compare short exact sequences in the Barr-exact category of heaps of T-modules with short exact sequences as defined previously.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of homological systems $\Theta$ for triangulated categories. Homological systems generalize, on one hand, the notion of stratifying systems in module categories, and on the other hand, the notion of exceptional sequences in triangulated categories. We prove that, attached to the homological system $\Theta,$ there are two standardly stratified algebras $A$ and $B,$ which are derived equivalent. Furthermore, it is proved that the category $\F(\Theta),$ of the $\Theta$-filtered objects in a triangulated category $\T,$ admits in a very natural way an structure of an exact category, and then there are exact equivalences between the exact category $\F(\Theta)$ and the exact categories of the $\Delta$-good modules associated to the standardly stratified algebras $A$ and $B.$ Some of the obtained results can be seen also under the light of the cotorsion pairs in the sense of Iyama-Nakaoka-Yoshino (see \ref{CotorsionThetaSys1} and \ref{CotorsionThetaSys2}). We recall that cotorsion pairs are studied extensively in relation with cluster tilting categories, $t$-structures and co-$t$-structures.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the notion of generalized invertible 1-cocycle in a strict braided monoidal category C, and we prove that the category of Hopf trusses is equivalent to the category of generalized invertible 1-cocycles. On the other hand, we also introduce the notions of module for a Hopf truss and for a generalized invertible 1-cocycle. We prove some functorial results involving these categories of modules and we show that the category of modules associated to a generalized invertible 1-cocycle is equivalent to a category of modules associated to a suitable Hopf truss. Finally, assuming that in C we have equalizers, we introduce the notion of Hopf-module in the Hopf truss setting and we obtain the Fundamental Theorem of Hopf modules associated to a Hopf truss.

A Categorical Development of Right Derived Functors

Abstract:Category theory is the language of homological algebra, allowing us to state broadly applicable theorems and results without needing to specify the details for every instance of analogous objects. However, authors often stray from the realm of pure abstract category theory in their development of the field, leveraging the Freyd-Mitchell embedding theorem or similar results, or otherwise using set-theoretic language to augment a general categorical discussion. This paper seeks to demonstrate that - while it is not necessary for most mathematicians' purposes - a development of homological concepts can be contrived from purely categorical notions. We begin by outlining the categories we will work within, namely Abelian categories (building off additive categories). We continue to develop cohomology groups of sequences, eventually culminating in a development of right derived functors. This paper is designed to be a minimalist construction, supplying no examples or motivation beyond what is necessary to develop the ideas presented.

We explicitly describe a procedure to compute the fibrant replacement and, finally, deduce some vanishing bounds for the higher limits.

Abstract:Recollements of triangulated categories may be seen as exact sequences ofsuch categories. Iterated recollements of triangulated categories are analoguesof geometric or topological stratifications and of composition series ofalgebraic objects. We discuss the question of uniqueness of such astratification, up to ordering and derived equivalence, for derived modulecategories. The main result is a positive answer in the form of a JordanHölder theorem for derived module categories of hereditary artin algebras. Wealso provide examples of derived simple rings.
