Abstract:ZY3-02 is the first Chinese earth-observation satellite equipped with a laser altimeter, designed to assist stereo-image mapping elevations. Launch vibrations, the space environment and other factors, both expected and unexpected, cause bias in the designed ranging and pointing of the laser altimeter, influencing its height measurement accuracy. This paper proposes an in-orbit geometric calibration model which considers this bias as unknown systematic errors. The unknown parameters were calibrated by the minimum ranging error principle using laser spot geolocation data captured by a ground-based laser detector array. Based on precise orbit and attitude data, the precise geolocation information of the laser footprints could be obtained. Validation experiments show that the elevation precision of the laser altimeter can reach 1m. Resume ZY3-02 est le premier satellite chinois d'observation de la Terre a etre equipe d'un altimetre laser, concu pour assister les methodes de cartographie altimetrique basees sur l'imagerie stereoscopique. Les vibrations du lancement, l'environnement spatial et d'autres facteurs, previsibles ou non, engendrent des biais dans les mesures de distance et d'orientation de l'altimetre laser ce qui influence la precision de la mesure d'altitude. Cet article propose un modele d'etalonnage geometrique en vol qui considere ces biais comme des erreurs systematiques inconnues. Les parametres inconnus ont ete etalonnes selon le principe de l'erreur de distance minimale en utilisant des donnees de localisation d'empreintes laser obtenues a partir d'un reseau de detecteurs laser au sol. L'information precise de geolocalisation des empreintes laser a ete obtenue a partir de donnees precises d'orbite et d'attitude. Des experiences de validation montrent que la precision de l'altimetre laser peut atteindre 1m. Zusammenfassung Der ZY3-02 ist der erste chinesische Erdbeobachtungssatellit, der mit einem Laseraltimeter zur Unterstutzung der Stereoerfassung aus digitalen Bilddaten ausgerustet ist. Vibrationen beim Start, die Weltraumbedingungen und andere erwartete und unerwartete Faktoren haben systematische Fehler in der Entferungs- und Richtungskomponente des Laseraltimeters hervorgerufen, die die Hohenmessgenauigkeit beeinflussen. Dieser Beitrag stellt ein Modell zur geometrischen Kalibrierung im Orbit vor, die solche systematischen Fehler als Unbekannte berucksichtigt. Die unbekannten Parameter wurden durch das minimale Entfernungsfehler-Prinzip kalibriert, wobei durch einen bodengestutzten Laserdetektor Positionsdaten fur den Laserspot erfasst worden sind. Durch genaue Orbit und Neigungsdaten konnte die genaue Geolokalisierung der Laserspots am Boden ermittelt werden. Die Experimente zur Validierung bestatigen, dass eine Hohengenauigkeit von 1m mit dem Laseraltimeter erreicht werden kann. Resumen ZY3-02 es el primer satelite de observacion de la Tierra chino equipado con un altimetro laser, disenado para ayudar en la determinacion estereoscopica de elevaciones del terreno. Las vibraciones del lanzamiento, el entorno espacial y otros factores, tanto esperados como inesperados, causan un sesgo en el alcance y la orientacion del altimetro laser, influyendo en la precision de la medicion de la altura. Este documento propone un modelo de calibracion geometrica en orbita que considera este sesgo como errores sistematicos desconocidos. Los parametros desconocidos se calibraron mediante el principio de error de rango minimo utilizando datos de geolocalizacion de puntos laser capturados por un conjunto de detectores laser en tierra. Dados los datos precisos de orbita y actitud, se pudo obtener la informacion de geolocalizacion precisa de las huellas laser. Los experimentos de validacion muestran que la precision de elevacion del altimetro laser puede alcanzar 1m.
