Abstract:A new multiattribute decision-making (MADM) methodology based on set pair analysis (SPA) for an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set environment is developed in this paper. The connection number, which is known as a major component of SPA, provides a quantitative analysis to integrate the certainty and uncertainty as a combined system. First, we briefly review the concepts of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFS) and the binary connection number (BCN). Then, the transformation method of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers into BCNs is studied. Finally, we present a new MADM method where interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values are used to express evaluating values of alternatives on attributes, and weights are represented with real numbers or IVIFS. Some typical examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new method for multiattribute decision making (MADM) using multiplication operations of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs) and the linear programming (LP) methodology. It can overcome the shortcomings of Chen and Huang's MADM method (2017), where Chen and Huang's MADM method has two shortcomings, i.e., (1) it gets an infinite number of solutions of the optimal weights of attributes when the summation values of some columns in the transformed decision matrix (TDM) are the same, resulting in the case that it obtains different preference orders (POs) of the alternatives, and (2) the PO of alternatives cannot be distinguished in some situations.

Abstract:Intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs) have already been applied to many fields, especially in multi-attribute decision making (MADM). Based on the basic operational laws and information aggregation methods of IFNs, MADM with intuitionistic fuzzy information has become more and more popular. In this paper, we investigate the MADM problems where the attribute values take the form of interval numbers and the weight information on the attributes are expressed as IFNs. We first propose a novel exponential operational law based on IFNs and interval numbers, and then study some of its desirable properties. Based on the exponential operational law, we put forward an intuitionistic fuzzy weighted exponential aggregation operator, and utilize it to develop a MADM method. Finally, we apply our method to solve the decision making problem under uncertainty.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new multiattribute decision making (MADM) method based on the proposed nonlinear programming (NLP) model, the Gini coefficient, and the proposed score function (SF) of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs). Firstly, we propose a novel SF of IVIFVs to overcome the shortcomings of the existing SFs of IVIFVs. Then, we construct a score matrix (SMX) based on the proposed SF of IVIFVs and the decision matrix given by the decision maker (DMK). Then, we construct a NLP model based on the constructed SMX, the Gini coefficient, and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) weights of the attributes given by the DMK. After solving the constructed NLP model, we obtain the optimal weight (OW) of each attribute. Then, we compute the weighted score (WS) of each alternative based on the constructed SMX and the obtained OWs of the attributes. Finally, we rank the alternatives based on the obtained WSs of the alternatives. The proposed MADM method can overcome the shortcomings of the existing MADM methods in IVIF environments.

Abstract:Multi-attribute decision making (MADM) with attribute values as interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs) is essentially a second-order decision making problem with uncertainty. To this end, the partial connection number (PCN) of set pair analysis is applied to MADM with IVIFNs. The PCN is an adjoin function of the connection number (CN), and its calculation process reflects the contradictory movement of the connection component in the CN at various micro-levels. It is the main mathematical tool of multi-level analysis method for the macro state and micro-trend. First, we convert IVIFNs into ternary connection numbers (TCNs); then, we calculate the first-order and second-order total PCNs for TCNs. According to the uncertainty analysis of the first-order total PCN, the possible ranking (first-order ranking) of the schemes in the uncertain environment is given, and the deterministic ordering (second-order ranking) of the schemes is given according to the value of the second-order total PCN to meet the needs of different decision making levels. The practical application shows that the method presented is novel, and the results are in line with the uncertainty decision making. Furthermore, the current status and development trend of schemes are taken into account to make decision making progress more reasonable and operable.

Abstract:In recent years, some multiple attribute decision making (MADM) methods have been presented based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs). In this paper, we propose a new MADM method based on IVIFSs, the linear programming (LP) methodology, and the extension of the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method, where the LP methodology is used to obtain optimal weights of attributes. The proposed method can overcome the drawbacks of the existing methods for MADM in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) environments.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a novel multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) approach for the intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs) environment. For this, we propose the advanced possibility degree measure (APDM) to rank the intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs). We also explore the properties of the proposed APDM of IFNs. The proposed APDM of IFNs can overcome the drawbacks of the existing possibility degree measure (PDM) of IFNs. Moreover, we propose a novel multi-attribute decision-making approach based on the proposed APDM of IFNs environment. We also explore the drawbacks of the existing MADM approach in the environment of IFNs, which has the drawback that it cannot distinguish the ranking order (RO) of the alternatives in some circumstances. The proposed MADM approach can overcome the drawbacks of the existing MADM approach. The proposed MADM approach offers us a very useful way to deal with MADM problems in the context of IFNs.

Abstract:For multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems with temporal characteristics and attribute values of interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy numbers, dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy weighted averaging (DIINFWA) operators are presented, and their properties are proved. Since attribute weights and time weights have both been unknown in MADM problems, we propose a dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy MADM method. In this method, a combination weighting method of gray correlation analysis and the maximum deviation method are used to solve for attribute weights, comprehensively considering the subjective experience of decision-makers and objectives of decision data; time weights are decomposed into time-constant and time-variable weight vectors. We determine time weights using the time function, combining information entropy and a logistic function. According to the algorithm of interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy numbers, decision-making information in different time sequences are aggregated using the proposed DIINFWA operators. We construct a dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy comprehensive decision matrix and use the VIKOR (Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje) method to obtain the optimal solution. Finally, the feasibility and significance of the presented method compared to existing methods are verified through analysis of numerical examples.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a novel multiattribute decision making (MADM) method using the nonlinear programming (NLP) methodology and the proposed score function of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs). Firstly, we propose a new score function of IVIFVs to conquer the drawbacks of the existing score functions of IVIFVs. Then, we construct the converted matrix based on the proposed score function of IVIFVs by calculating the score value of each IVIFV in the decision matrix (DM) offered by the decision maker (DMK). Then, we construct the NLP model via the obtained converted matrix and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) weight of each attribute given by the DMK. Then, we solve the NLP model to obtain the optimal weight for each attribute. Then, based on the obtained converted matrix and the obtained optimal weight of each attribute, we calculate the weighted score of each alternative. Finally, the alternatives are ranked on the basis of the obtained weighted scores of the alternatives. The larger the weighted score of an alternative, the better the preference order of the alternative. The proposed MADM method can overcome the drawbacks of the existing MADM methods. It offers us a very useful approach for MADM in IVIF settings.

Abstract:The intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy set (IHFS) is an enriched version of hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs) that can cover both fuzzy sets (FSs) and intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). By assigning membership and non-membership grades as subsets of [0, 1], the IHFS can model and handle situations more proficiently. Another related theory is the theory of set pair analysis (SPA), which considers both certainties and uncertainties as a cohesive system and represents them from three aspects: identity, discrepancy, and contrary. In this article, we explore the suitability of combining the IHFS and SPA theories in multi-attribute decision making (MADM) and present the hybrid model named intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy connection number set (IHCS). To facilitate the design of a novel MADM algorithm, we first develop several averaging and geometric aggregation operators on IHCS. Finally, we highlight the benefits of our proposed work, including a comparative examination of the recommended models with a few current models to demonstrate the practicality of an ideal decision in practice. Additionally, we provide a graphical interpretation of the devised attempt to exhibit the consistency and efficiency of our approach.

Abstract:The multiple attribute decision making (MADM) with interval grey uncertain linguistic (IGUL) is a topic of current interest, and various methods have been developed. However, few approaches taking the behavioral characteristics of the decision maker into account. In this paper, an extension of TODIM (i.e., an acronym in Portuguese of interactive and multiple attribute decision making) method, in which three behavioral characteristics of the decision maker (i.e., risk aversion, reference dependence and loss aversion) are considered, is proposed. First, the d-Hamming distance is defined to deal with the interval grey uncertain linguistic variables by considering the level of the decision maker's risk aversion, and its distinguish ability is validated by compared to the classical Hamming distance. Then, the details of the TODIM. SIR method is demonstrated: (i) considering the reference dependence behaviour of the decision maker, the positive-ideal alternative (i.e., PIA) and the negative-ideal alternative (i.e., NIA) are defined, and the gain and loss degrees of each alternative relative to NIA and PIA are computed based on the delta-Hamming distance; (ii) taking the loss aversion behaviour of the decision maker into account, the perceived dominance degree of the decision maker for the gain and the loss is calculated; (iii) according to the idea of the Superiority and Inferiority Ranking method (i.e., SIR, an outranking method), the Gain-flow and the Loss-flow are defined, and the partial ranking orders and the complete ranking order are obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the robustness and validity of the method, and a comparative analysis is also conducted to compare the TODIM. SIR method with both the classical TODIM method and the classical SIR method.

Abstract:The purpose of our research is to extend the formal representation of the human mind to the concept of the complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft set (Cq-ROFHSS), a more general hybrid theory. A great deal of imprecision and ambiguity can be captured by it, which is common in human interpretations. It provides a multiparameterized mathematical tool for the order-based fuzzy modeling of contradictory two-dimensional data, which provides a more effective way of expressing time-period problems as well as two-dimensional information within a dataset. Thus, the proposed theory combines the parametric structure of complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets and hypersoft sets. Through the use of the parameter q, the framework captures information beyond the limited space of complex intuitionistic fuzzy hypersoft sets and complex Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft sets. By establishing basic set-theoretic operations, we demonstrate some of the fundamental properties of the model. To expand the mathematical toolbox in this field, Einstein and other basic operations will be introduced to complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft values. The relationship between it and existing methods demonstrates its exceptional flexibility. The Einstein aggregation operator, score function, and accuracy function are used to develop two multi-attribute decision-making algorithms, which prioritize based on the score function and accuracy function to ideal schemes under Cq-ROFHSS, which captures subtle differences in periodically inconsistent data sets. The feasibility of the approach will be demonstrated through a case study of selected distributed control systems. The rationality of these strategies has been confirmed by comparison with mainstream technologies. Additionally, we demonstrate that these results are compatible with explicit histograms and Spearman correlation analyses. The strengths of each approach are analyzed in a comparative manner. The proposed model is then examined and compared with other theories, demonstrating its strength, validity, and flexibility.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new multiattribute decision making (MADM) method based on the U-quadratic distribution of intervals and the transformed matrix of the decision matrix given by the decision maker in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) environments. First, it gets the transformed matrix of the decision matrix. Then, it calculates the variances of the intervals appearing at each element of the obtained transformed matrix, respectively. Then, it calculates the standard deviations of the intervals appearing in the elements of each column of the obtained transformed matrix, respectively. Then, it calculates the middle points of the intervals appearing in the elements of each column of the obtained transformed matrix, respectively. Then, it calculates the average values of the intervals appearing in the elements of each column of the obtained transformed matrix, respectively. Then, it builds the z-score matrix. Then, it calculates the transformed weight of the IVIF weight of each attribute. Finally, according to the obtained z-score matrix and the obtained transformed weight of the IVIF weight of each attribute, it computes the weighted score of each alternative for ranking alternatives. The proposed MADM method can overcome the shortcomings of the existing MADM methods.

Abstract:The interval-valued fuzzy soft set (IVFSS) model, which combines the benefits of the soft set model with the interval-valued fuzzy set (IVFS) model, is a growing and effective mathematical tool for processing hazy data. In detail, this model is characterized by symmetry, which has the lower and upper membership degree. The study of decision-making based on IVFSS has picked up more steam recently. However, existing multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) methods can only sort alternative schemes, but are not able to classify them, which is detrimental to decision-makers' efficient decision-making. In this paper, we propose a multi-attribute three-way decision-making (MATWDM) algorithm based on ideal solutions for IVFSS. MATWDM is extended to the IVFSS environment by incorporating the concept of the ideal solution, offering a more adaptable and comprehensive approach for addressing uncertain MADM issues. The method not only obtains the ranking results of the alternatives, but also divides them into acceptance domain, rejection domain, and delayed-decision domain, which makes the decision results more reasonable and effective, facilitating decision-makers to make better decisions. We apply the proposed three-way decision algorithm to two practical cases as diverse as mine emergency decision and Homestay selection decision. Additionally, the effectiveness and viability of the suggested method are confirmed by experimental findings.

Maximizing deviation method for interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy multi-attribute decision making

Abstract:The fuzzy multi-attribute decision making problems are investigated, in which the attribute values are given as interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and the attribute weight information is incomplete. Some operational laws of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, score function and accuracy function of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are introduced. An optimization model based on the maximizing deviation method, by which the attribute weights can be determined, is established. We utilize the interval-valued intuitionistic weighted arithmetic averaging (IIWAA) operator to aggregate the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information corresponding to each alternative, and then rank the alternatives and select the most desirable one(s) according to the score function and accuracy function. Finally, a practical example is provided to illustrate the developed approach and to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Abstract:Interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (IVPFNs) can easily describe the incomplete and indeterminate information by degrees of membership and non-membership, and the Hamy mean (HM) operator and dual HM (DHM) operators are a good tool for dealing with multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problems because it can capture the interrelationship among the multi-input arguments. Motivated by the studies regarding the HM operator and dual HM operator, we expand the HM operator and dual HM (DMM) operator to process the interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (IVPFNs) and then to solve the MADM problems. Firstly, we propose some HM and DHM operators with IVPFNs. Moreover, we present some new methods to solve MADM problems with the IVPFNs. Finally, an applicable example is given.

Abstract:In this paper, the multiple attribute decision-making problems in which the attribute values take the form of q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy sets (qRCOFSs) are investigated. Firstly, the definition of qROCFSs and some operational laws of qROCFSs are proposed. Then, a family of q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy maclaurin symmetric mean aggregation operators are developed, such as the q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROCFMSM) operator, the q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy weighted maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROCFWMSM) operator, the q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy dual maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROCFDMSM) operator, the q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy weighted dual maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROCFWDMSM) operator. And the properties and special cases of these proposed operators are studied. Furthermore, an approach based on the q-ROCFWMSM operator and the q-ROCFWDMSM operator is proposed for multiple attribute decision-making problems under q-rung orthopair cubic fuzzy environment. Abstract:The significant characteristic of the TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese of Interactive and Multiple Attribute Decision Making) method is that it can consider the bounded rationality of the decision makers. However, in the classical TODIM method, the rating of the attributes only can be used in the form of crisp numbers. Because 2‐dimension uncertain linguistic variables can easily express the fuzzy information, in this article, we extend the TODIM method to 2‐dimension uncertain linguistic information. First of all, the definition, characteristics, expectation, comparative method and distance of 2‐dimension uncertain linguistic information are introduced, and the steps of the classical TODIM method for Multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problems are presented. Second, on the basis of the classical TODIM method, the extended TODIM method is proposed to deal with MADM problems in which the attribute values are in the form of 2‐dimension uncertain linguistic variables, and detailed decision steps are given. Its significant characteristic is that it can fully consider the bounded rationality of the decision makers, which is a real action in real decision making. Abstract:Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) is a flexible method to deal with uncertainty and fuzziness. For the past few years, extensive researches about the multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems based on IVIFSs has been extensively studied in many fields. In this study, the Taxonomy method based on IVIFSs (IVIF-Taxonomy) was proposed for MAGDM problems. For the sake of the objectivity of attribute weight, entropy is introduced into the proposed model. The IVIF-Taxonomy method fully considers the weight of the decision makers (DMs) and the homogeneity of the chosen alternatives, making it more realistic. In addition, we apply IVIF-Taxonomy method to fund selection to verify the validity of IVIF-Taxonomy method. Finally, the trustworthy of IVIF-Taxonomy method is proved by comparing with the aggregate operator, IVIF-TOPSIS method, IVIF-GRA method and modified IVIF-WASPAS method.
