Abstract:With the advent of the Internet and information and communication technology, quantum teleportation has become an important field in information security and its application areas. This is because quantum teleportation has the ability to attain a timely secret information delivery and offers unconditional security. And as such, the field of quantum teleportation has become a hot research topic in recent years. However, noise has serious effect on the safety of quantum teleportation within the aspects of information fidelity, channel capacity and information transfer. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to address these problems of quantum teleportation. Firstly, in order to resist collective noise, we construct a decoherence-free subspace under different noise scenarios to establish a two-dimensional fidelity quantum teleportation models. And also create quantum teleportation of multiple degree of freedom, and these models ensure the accuracy and availability of the exchange of information and in multiple degree of freedom. Secondly, for easy preparation, measurement and implementation, we use super dense coding features to build an entangled quantum secret exchange channel. To improve the channel utilization and capacity, an efficient super dense coding method based on ultra-entanglement exchange is used. Thirdly, continuous variables of the controlled quantum key distribution were designed for quantum teleportation; in addition, we perform Bell-basis measurement under the collective noise and also prepare the storage technology of quantum states to achieve one-bit key by three-photon encoding to improve its security and efficiency. We use these two methods because they conceal information, resist a third party attack and can detect eavesdropping. Our proposed methods, according to the security analysis, are able to solve the problems associated with the quantum teleportation under various noise environments.

Abstract:The terahertz communications display an important role in high-speed wireless communications, the security threat from the eavesdroppers in the terahertz communications has been gaining attention recently. The true randomness in the physical layer can ensure one-time-pad encryption for secured terahertz communications, however, physical layer security schemes like the quantum key distribution methods suffer from device imperfections that limit the desirable signal rate and link distance. Herein, we present the quantum noise secured terahertz wireless communications with photonic terahertz signal generation schemes. With the high-order diffusion algorithms, the signal is masked by the quantum noise ciphers to the eavesdroppers and cannot be detected because the inevitable randomness by quantum noise measurement will cause physical measurement errors. In the experiment, we demonstrate 16 Gbits −1 quantum noise secured terahertz wireless communications with the conventional optical communication realms and devices, operating at 300 GHz terahertz frequency. This quantum noise secured terahertz communication approach is a significant step toward high-security wireless communications.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation as the key strategy for quantum communication requires pure maximally shared entangled states among quantum nodes. In practice, quantum decoherence drastically degrades the shared entanglement during entanglement distribution, which is a serious challenge for the development of quantum networks. However, most of the decoherence control strategies proposed thus far are either resource-intensive or time-consuming. To overcome this obstacle, we enable noise-resistant teleportation through a noisy channel with a limited number of qubits and without applying time-consuming weak measurements. We apply a quantum gate control unit consisting of a controlled NOT gate and a rotation gate after the original teleportation protocol is accomplished. Furthermore, we demonstrate that a teleportation fidelity of unity is attainable when environment-assisted measurement is added to the proposed teleportation protocol via quantum gates. Moreover, we present an entanglement distribution process by employing the designed quantum gate control unit followed by the deterministic standard teleportation protocol to improve teleportation fidelity by establishing improved shared entanglement. Our performance analysis indicates that the proposed teleportation schemes offer a competitive fidelity and success probability compared with the conventional schemes and a recent weak measurement-based teleportation protocol.

Abstract:We propose a quantum state protection scheme via quantum feedforward control combined with environment-assisted measurement to protect arbitrary unknown initial states from the finite-temperature thermal noise(FTTN).The main strat-egy is to transfer the quantum system to a noise-robust state by weak measurement and feedforward control before the noise channel.Then we apply the environment-assisted measurement on the noise channel to select our desired damped states that are invertible to the initial state.After the noise channel,the reversal operations are applied to restore the initial state.We consider the protection of a single-qubit system,derive the analytical expressions of the success probability and the fidelity,and analyze the influence of key parameters on the performance of the proposed scheme.Unlike previous studies,there is no trade-off between the fidelity and the success probability in the proposed scheme;hence one could maximize them separately.Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can greatly improve the fidelity of the quantum state with a certain success probability.Moreover,the proposed scheme is successfully applied to improving the fidelity of controlled quantum teleportation through two independent FTTN channels from the perspective of protecting the shared entanglement.

Abstract:Permitting the transmission of unknown quantum states over long distances by using entanglement, quantum teleportation serves as an important building block for many quantum technologies. However, in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum era, the practical realization of quantum teleportation is inevitably challenged by the noise-induced decoherence. We here propose a noise-mitigation mechanism applicable in both the discrete- and continuous-variable quantum teleportation schemes. Via investigating the non-Markovian decoherence dynamics of the two types of quantum teleportation schemes, we find that, as long as a bound state is formed in the energy spectrum of the total system consisting of the involved subsystems and their respective reservoirs, the quantum superiority of the fidelity is persistently recovered. Supplying an insightful understanding of the noise-mitigation protocols, our result paves the way to the practical realization of noise-tolerant quantum teleportation.

Abstract:Counter-intuitively, quantum mechanics enables quantum particles to propagate simultaneously among multiple space-time trajectories. Hence, a quantum information carrier can travel through different communication channels in a quantum superposition of different orders, so that the relative time-order of the communication channels becomes indefinite. This is realized by utilizing a quantum device known as quantum switch. In this paper, we investigate, from a communication-engineering perspective, the use of the quantum switch within the quantum teleportation process, one of the key functionalities of the Quantum Internet. Specifically, a theoretical analysis is conducted to quantify the performance gain that can be achieved by employing a quantum switch for the entanglement distribution process within the quantum teleportation with respect to the case of absence of quantum switch. This analysis reveals that, by utilizing the quantum switch, the quantum teleportation is heralded as a noiseless communication process with a probability that, remarkably and counter-intuitively, increases with the noise levels affecting the communication channels considered in the indefinite-order time combination.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement and decoherence are the two counterforces of many quantum technologies and protocols. For example, while quantum teleportation is fueled by a pair of maximally entangled resource qubits, it is vulnerable to decoherence. In this Article, we propose an efficient quantum teleportation protocol in the presence of pure decoherence and without entangled resource qubits entering the Bell-state measurement. Instead, we employ multipartite hybrid entanglement between the auxiliary qubits and their local environments within the open-quantum-system context. Interestingly, with a hybrid-entangled initial state, it is the decoherence that allows us to achieve high fidelities. We demonstrate our protocol in an all-optical experiment.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation as a key protocol for quantum communication and quantum computing demonstrates the stark difference between quantum and classical information transmission. An ideal teleportation protocol requires pure maximally entangled state as the teleportation channel, while in real implementations the shared entanglement is severely degraded due to decoherence. In this letter, we propose a scheme to protect the quantum teleportation from decoherence by means of environment assisted measurement with weak measurements and flip operations. We show that the teleportation fidelity of our proposed scheme is significantly improved compared to teleportation with no protection and a teleportation protocol based on quantum measurement reversal. Also, the explicit formula of average teleportation fidelity and success probability of the entanglement protection are derived.

Abstract:Quantum communication protects information security by means of the basic laws of quantum mechanics and has aroused the wide public interest over the recent years. Quantum communication consists of quantum key distribution, quantum secure direct communication, quantum teleportation, quantum dense coding, and quantum secret sharing. The purpose of quantum key distribution, quantum secure direct communication and quantum secret sharing is to protect the security of information and thus they are called quantum cryptography. In quantum key distribution and secret sharing, data transmitted in the quantum channel are random keys rather than information, and the information is sent through another classical communication. The direct communication of information through quantum channel is realized in quantum secure direct communication. In this paper, we present a protocol for quantum communication by using quantum teleportation (QCUQT), and analyze it in detail. First, we answer the question whether QCUQT is a type of quantum secure direct communication. In QCUQT, only computational basis states are teleported, and both the Bell-basis measurement and the single particle operations can be simplified. It is found that the QCUQT is equivalent to the combined process of a quantum key distribution plus a classical communication rather than a type of quantum secure direct communication. In order to read out the information in the quantum channel, classical communication is required by QCUQT. Some misunderstandings about QCUQT are discussed and clarified in the paper. It was mistaken that the transmission of quantum state in QCUQT is irrelevant to the channel noise nor the distance between two parties, and QCUQT can even be used to realize superluminal communication. Our study shows that the QCUQT is affected by the medium and also the distance between two parties, and it does not have an advantage over quantum key distribution, and cannot realize quantum superluminal communication either. We also compare the QCUQT with quantum key distribution, quantum secure direct communication, and classical one-time-pad in several aspects such as the nature of the data in quantum channel, the way of reading out the key, the way of transmitting messages, and the amount of data carried in the process. We also point out the characteristics of each type of communication. It is concluded that single-photon quantum key distribution is easier to realize than QCUQT because single-photon detection and generation are easier to realize than the Bell-basis measurement and generation of EPR pairs. In particular, we discuss the use of these protocols in space communication and it is suggested that quantum secure direct communication be a better choice in outer-space quantum communication because of the low loss in quantum channels there.

Abstract:Maintaining quantum coherence and entanglement in the presence of environmental noise, particularly within non-Markovian contexts, represents a significant challenge for the progression of quantum information science and technology. This study offers a substantial advancement by investigating the dynamics of a two-qubit system subjected to diverse noise conditions, encompassing relaxation, dephasing, and their cumulative effects. By employing quantum-state-diffusion equations specifically crafted for non-Markovian environments, we introduce an innovative strategy to counteract the detrimental influences of environmental noise on quantum teleportation fidelity and entanglement concurrence. Our results underscore the potential for external interventions to markedly improve the resilience of quantum information processing tasks over prolonged durations, especially in settings where dephasing noise prevails. A key revelation is the intricate relationship between dephasing noise and the initial state of entanglement, which profoundly impacts the occurrence of entanglement sudden death. This research not only deepens our comprehension of quantum system dynamics under noisy circumstances but also furnishes practical directives for engineering robust quantum systems, a necessity for the development of scalable quantum technologies.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation is one of the most important protocols in quantum information. By exploiting the physical resource of entanglement, quantum teleportation serves as a key primitive in a variety of quantum information tasks and represents an important building block for quantum technologies, with a pivotal role in the continuing progress of quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum networks. Here we review the basic theoretical ideas behind quantum teleportation and its variant protocols. We focus on the main experiments, together with the technical advantages and disadvantages associated with the use of the various technologies, from photonic qubits and optical modes to atomic ensembles, trapped atoms, and solid-state systems. Analysing the current state-of-the-art, we finish by discussing open issues, challenges and potential future implementations.

In this paper, we focus on analyzing characteristics of the quantum cryptography and exploring of the advantages of it in the future Internet. It is worth noting that we analyze the quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol in the noise-free channel. Moreover, in order to simulate real situations in the future Internet, we also search the QKD protocol in the noisy channel. The results reflect the unconditional security of quantum cryptography theoretically, which is suitable for the Internet as ever-increasing challenges are inevitable in the future.

Abstract:Abstract Quantum teleportation exemplifies how the transmission of quantum information starkly differs from that of classical information and serves as a key protocol for quantum communication and quantum computing. While an ideal teleportation protocol requires noiseless quantum channels to share a pure maximally entangled state, the reality is that shared entanglement is often severely degraded due to various decoherence mechanisms. Although the quantum noise induced by the decoherence is indeed a major obstacle to realizing a near-term quantum network or processor with a limited number of qubits, the methodologies considered thus far to address this issue are resource-intensive. Here, we demonstrate a protocol that allows optimal quantum teleportation via noisy quantum channels without additional qubit resources. By analyzing teleportation in the framework of generalized quantum measurement, we optimize the teleportation protocol for noisy quantum channels. In particular, we experimentally demonstrate that our protocol enables to teleport an unknown qubit even via a single copy of an entangled state under strong decoherence that would otherwise preclude any quantum operation. Our work provides a useful methodology for practically coping with decoherence with a limited number of qubits and paves the way for realizing noisy intermediate-scale quantum computing and quantum communication.

Abstract:Open quantum systems and study of decoherence are important for our fundamental understanding of quantum physical phenomena. For practical purposes, there exists a large number of quantum protocols exploiting quantum resources, e.g. entanglement, which allows to go beyond what is possible to achieve by classical means. We combine concepts from open quantum systems and quantum information science, and give a proof-of-principle experimental demonstration -- with teleportation -- that it is possible to implement efficiently a quantum protocol via non-Markovian open system. The results show that, at the time of implementation of the protocol, it is not necessary to have the quantum resource in the degree of freedom used for the basic protocol -- as long as there exists some other degree of freedom, or environment of an open system, which contains useful resources. The experiment is based on a pair of photons, where their polarizations act as open system qubits and frequencies as their environments -- while the path degree of freedom of one of the photons represents the state of Alice's qubit to be teleported to Bob's polarization qubit.

Abstract:Teleportation is an important protocol in quantum communication. Realizing teleportation between arbitrary nodes in multi-hop quantum networks is of great value. Most of the existing multi-hop quantum networks are based on Bell states or Greeberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) states. Bell state is more susceptible to noise than GHZ states after purification, but generating a GHZ state consumes more basic states. In this paper, a new quantum multi-hop network scheme is proposed to improve the interference immunity of the network and avoid large consumption at the same time. Teleportation is realized in a network based on entanglement swapping, fusion, and purification. To ensure the robustness of the system, we also design the purification algorithm. The simulation results show the successful establishment of entanglement with high fidelity. Cirq is used to verify the network on the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) platform. The robustness of the fusion scheme is better than the Bell states scheme, especially with the increasing number of nodes. This paper provides a solution to balance the performance and consumption in a multi-hop quantum network.

Abstract:A quantum network, which involves multiple parties pinging each other with quantum messages, could revolutionize communication, computing, and basic sciences. The future internet will be a global system of various packet switching quantum and classical networks, and we call it quantum internet. To build a quantum Internet, unified protocols that support the distribution of quantum messages within it are necessary. Intuitively, one would extend classical internet protocols to handle quantum messages. However, classical network mechanisms, especially those related to error control and reliable connection, implicitly assume that information can be duplicated, which is not true in the quantum world due to the no-cloning theorem and monogamy of entanglement. In this article, we investigate and propose protocols for packet quantum network intercommunication. To handle the packet loss problem in transport, we propose a quantum retransmission protocol based on the recursive use of a quantum secret sharing scheme. Other Internet protocols are also discussed. In particular, the creation of logical process-to-process connections is accomplished by a quantum version of the three-way handshake protocol.

Abstract:We investigate the schemes of quantum network teleportation for quantum information distribution and concentration, which are essential in quantum cloud computation and the quantum internet. In those schemes, with the prior shared entanglement in the quantum network, the cloud can send simultaneously identical unknown quantum states to clients located in different places. Additionally, with the same entanglement resource, these clients can concentrate their states to the cloud to reconstruct the original state. The number of clients can be beyond the number of identical quantum states intentionally being sent; this quantum network teleportation can make sure that the quantum states' distribution is optimal in the sense that the fidelity achieves the upper bound. These schemes facilitate the quantum information distribution and concentration in quantum networks in the framework of quantum cloud computation.
