Abstract:Speech recognition systems on chip (SoC) can realize simple man-machine communication and speech control, and have a bright application prospect in household appliances and various man-machine communication systems. Combined with characteristics of Chinese speech language, this paper presents a speaker dependent and independent medium and small vocabulary isolated words recognition system based on TMS320VC5507. Voice Activity Detection (VAD) algorithm based on circular buffer is implemented and dual-buffer transportation mode is used in speech recording and playing. DTW with low-dimension feature and multi-pass decoding method based on CDHMM are utilized respectively as the kernel recognition algorithms, and experiment results are reached.
Real-time Speaker Recognition System for PDA

Abstract:The classical speaker recognition model based on Gaussian mixture model is not suitable for real-time speaker recognition on PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) platform due to the limitation of memory and computation. Based on fix-point and principal component analysis technology, the realization of real-time text-independent speaker recognition system, which takes Mel frequency cepstral coefficients as the feature parameter, is presented. The experimental data on a people test of 19 show that, comparing with the base-line system, the training time is reduced to 1/50, testing time is reduced to 1/12, the model sized is reduced to 1/6 and that the recognition rate is 94.7%.

Abstract:After a various of comparison among possible speech processingapproaches, we present and developed a speaker recognition system(SRS). The six Chinese single vowels are selected as the test elements of our models. The computer speech analysis techniques adopted in this system include short-time power and short-time average zero-cross rate test, cepstrum analysis and linear prediction coding, which are used to detect the start-end points of speech and to get the characteristic parameters of the speaker. This system is implemented under MATLAB and Windows environment and has perfect recognition results.

Abstract:The technique for rehabilitation training of the children with cerebral palsy using human-computer interaction was studied, and a rehabilitation training system for cerebral palsy based on voice interaction was designed.The system is driven by 51 single chip microcomputers.The whole system adopts the voice chip of LD3320, the lower machine uses C language programming, and the PC uses LabVIEW programming.Through the way of serial transmission, the commands the next bit machine received are sent to PC, and by identifying the picture of the PC interface, children give the corresponding names to identify the text, voice chip, which can identify the final evaluation system automatically to judge the right to say yes or not.And for every time, the identification time was recorded.A case study was carried out to verify the proposed system effectiveness.

Abstract:This is a small vocabulary, speaker independent, discrete word speech recognition system based on the System On Chip (SOC) philosophy. It is implemented on an 8-bit MCU (Micro Control Unit). The system adopts Linear Predictive Cepstral Coefficient (LPCC) related features followed by Vector Quantization (VQ) step as front end, and Hidden Marcov Model (HMM) as speech model. Confidence measure based on likelihood score (LLS) are given for rejection of Out-Of-Vacabulary (OOV) words. The recognition rate is improved with corrective training, and robustness is acquired by integrating confidence measure into the system. The recognition accuracy is nearly 97% with a vocabulary up to 30 phrases under normal conditions. Simple speech codec is also implemented for all speech I/O purpose.

Abstract:This design is based on single chip microcomputer intelligent home speech recognition control system, the system is composed of software and hardware parts. The hardware part basically includes the voice recognition part, the key setting part and the prompt display part. Through voice commands to control the switching and running functions of various home systems. With STM32 single chip microcomputer as the core, the design of TFT color screen, intelligent voice recognition module, temperature and humidity detection module, light acquisition module, lighting and dark adjustment, fan driver module, relay driver module and key module. The device has three operating modes: automatic mode, voice-activated mode and manual mode. Among them, the voice control mode realizes intelligent dialogue through intelligent voice recognition module, and controls the switch, level setting and mode switching of all devices. Automatic mode Automatically controls the device by setting the expected temperature, humidity, etc. Manual mode is used as a backup when both voice and automatic modes fail. After the system is powered, each detection module can work normally. The results show that the design has practical application value.

Abstract:An English speech recognition system was implemented on a chip, called speech system-on-chip (SoC). The SoC included an application specific integrated circuit with a vector accelerator to improve performance. The sub-word model based on a continuous density hidden Markov model recognition algorithm ran on a very cheap speech chip. The algorithm was a two-stage fixed-width beam-search baseline system with a variable beam-width pruning strategy and a frame-synchronous word-level pruning strategy to significantly reduce the recognition time. Tests show that this method reduces the recognition time nearly 6 fold and the memory size nearly 2 fold compared to the original system, with less than 1% accuracy degradation for a 600 word recognition task and recognition accuracy rate of about 98%.

Abstract:A speech recognition method based on characteristics of an embedded system is presented. The algorithm is based on continuous density HMM (CDHMM). To satisfy the required capability of the embedded system, the classical CDHMM is simplified. Finally, a real-time processing is achieved on the personal digital assist (PDA). In order to obtain an available equipment, a confidence measure method is suggested, which cost a little additive computation. For 610 words of the corpus, an equal-error-rate is less than 5%. And when the false reject rate is 5%, the recognition rate of in-vocabulary-speech is 95%.

Abstract:Current embedded English speech recognition systems have poor performance or high hardware resource requirements.This paper presents an embedded English command speech recognition system using the continuous density hidden Markov model and a two-pass search strategy based on a 16-bit fixed-point digital signal processing(DSP.The parameter selection algorithm and decision tree are incorporated into the phone model with data driven tying,to maximize the recognition speed and minimize the memory footprint while maintaining the recognition accuracy.Also,the phone unit set is optimized using the minimum mutual information change(MMIC algorithm.Tests on a(1 235 two-word phrases data set show that the system provides a recognition accuracy rate of(96.41% while using only 46% of real time.

Abstract:This paper introduces a novel isolated word speech recognition system-on-chip (SoC). An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) with a unique vector accelerator is designed in the SoC to realize Continuous density Hidden Markov Model (CHMM) recognition algorithm based on the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) feature. Due to a hardware and software co-design, the cost of the ASIC is similar to a low-cost 8bit micro controller unit (MCU). A two-stage strategy is adopted for recognizing 200-phrase and recognition accuracy rate is about 98%.

Abstract:This paper introduces a novel embedded speech processing system, which is implemented in car wireless terminals. This system is composed of two modules: bluetooth module and speech-processing module. Through the blue tooth module, car wireless terminal can communicate with cellular phone, download the address book from cellular phone and send it to the speech processing module, while the speech processing module fulfills speech recognition, speech synthesis, speech coding and system controlling functions. This system can on-line generate the speech recognition network according to the address book and the recognizable vocabulary scale is up to 1000 words. When the address book includes 600 names, the recognition accuracy rate is more than 97%. The hardware platform of this system is based on SoC architecture and high integration of this architecture makes the system more robust.

Abstract:The design and implementation of a new speech recognition system based on private automatic branch exchange (PABX) is described. By use of a developing board of a digital signal processor (TMS320C31), a speaker independent continuous speech recognition system is implemented on WINDOW platform of PC. The system uses small functional words and digits that compose different commands of telephone exchange and produce language models of the recognition system. The system can make telephone exchange by speech commands over telephone channels. The recognition system uses an improved token passing Viterbi algorithm, which gets good recognition accurate. An rejecting recognition algorithm is developed. In the command speech the digital recognition accuracy is over 98% and the digital string (<4 character) is over 91% without rejection and over 95% with 10% rejection of utterances.

Abstract:The UniLite chip is realized around an architecture which is composed of a 16-bit DSP core,on-chip memory,an ADC/DAC channel as well as other common I/O interfaces.High performance speaker independent speech recognition and speech coding are implemented on limited RAM memory.This results in low power consumption and reduction in cost.The system is based on continuous hidden Markov model.Two-pass feature extraction and beam search strategy are also employed to reduce the consumption of the RAM and enhance the recognition rate.Test shows that the UniLite system provides recognition accurate as high as 98.5% and requires less than 0.5 real time.

Abstract:We have developed a speech interface ASIC of SOC architecture for embedded application, with speech recognition and speech compression/decompression functions. The ASIC contains not only a MCU core, a DSP core and two codecs (coder/decoder), but also the input and output analog channels, which makes it a complete system on a chip that can form a whole application without any other chips. We have provided with full speech interface functions of guidance prompt, speech playback and small vocabulary to medium vocabulary speaker dependent/independent recognition. The DSP executes speech compression/decompression as well as acoustic analysis and speech recognition computation, while the MCU works as a CPU of the whole ASIC in charge of control and communication. The software system is organized at two levels $the application level and the service level. With our service modules, any new application software can be quickly built up. This speech interface ASIC can perform 100 phrases speaker dependent recognition or 300 phrases speaker independent recognition within 0.3 second and the recognition accuracy reaches more than 96%. It also meets the speech interface demands of embedded application, and can offer a good solution for size, power-consumption, cost, reliability and performance.

Abstract:This paper presents an embedded English commands speech recognition system based on fixed-point DSP and establishes recognition system based on TI chip. The system uses Continuous Density Hidden Markov Model (CDHMM) and two-pass search strategy. To increase the recognition accuracy, phone models tying based on decision tree and data driven, phone model unit choosing in first stage recognition are applied in the system. The English commands speech recognition system has been realized on speech processing system on chip based on TI TMS320vc5502 fixed point DSP. When the DSP works on speed of 200MIPs, the system can provide a recognition accuracy rate of 95.4﹪ on 1235 two-word phrases recognition task with 0.46 times lower than real time and 49.5kbyte data space.

Abstract:With the proliferation of portable devices, speech recognition, especially name, address and command recognition, on these devices is a topic of growing relevance. A Mandarin short phrase recognition system is introduced in consideration of the limited resources and calculation ability of portable devices. A fixed-point front-end is developed, a discrete hidden Markov model is employed for acoustic modeling, and an SNR based likelihood weighting method is proposed to improve the noise robustness of the system. The memory size of the model set is 269 kB, the decoding time is 0.89 times of the speech duration, and the method for robustness gives a relative 15.2% word error rate reduction in a complex practical environment with both channel distortion and non-stationary noise present.

Abstract:With the development of speech recognition technology, there are wide applications of intelligent voice around the world. In the paper, we propose an intelligent voice control system which can realize the functions of voice activity detection, speech recognition, speaker authentication, instruction analysis, and automatic answer. A new voice activity detection (VAD) algorithm and backtracking algorithm are proposed to improve system performance. Then, we test our system in our own silumation corpus, we create the system evaluation indexes and the text result is satisfactory.
