Abstract:A new multiattribute decision-making (MADM) methodology based on set pair analysis (SPA) for an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set environment is developed in this paper. The connection number, which is known as a major component of SPA, provides a quantitative analysis to integrate the certainty and uncertainty as a combined system. First, we briefly review the concepts of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFS) and the binary connection number (BCN). Then, the transformation method of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers into BCNs is studied. Finally, we present a new MADM method where interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values are used to express evaluating values of alternatives on attributes, and weights are represented with real numbers or IVIFS. Some typical examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new method for multiattribute decision making (MADM) using multiplication operations of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs) and the linear programming (LP) methodology. It can overcome the shortcomings of Chen and Huang's MADM method (2017), where Chen and Huang's MADM method has two shortcomings, i.e., (1) it gets an infinite number of solutions of the optimal weights of attributes when the summation values of some columns in the transformed decision matrix (TDM) are the same, resulting in the case that it obtains different preference orders (POs) of the alternatives, and (2) the PO of alternatives cannot be distinguished in some situations.

Abstract:When assessment information and preference information about alternatives are expressed through triangular fuzzy numbers, those numbers can be converted into identity-discrepancy-contrary connection numbers. Furthermore, multiple attribute decision-making is conducted using connection mathematics theory. The method is simple when attribute weights are unknown and it can both take full advantage of the valuator's fuzzy information and satisfy the decision-maker's preferences. Objective and reasonable fuzzy decision-making is accomplished under the precondition of avoiding the complex process of computing weights and identifying false decision-making caused by using the linear weighted sum model. The decision-making result using this method to solve a partner selection problem in virtual enterprises is similar to that of an established method based on expected values.

Abstract:The purpose of our research is to extend the formal representation of the human mind to the concept of the complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft set (Cq-ROFHSS), a more general hybrid theory. A great deal of imprecision and ambiguity can be captured by it, which is common in human interpretations. It provides a multiparameterized mathematical tool for the order-based fuzzy modeling of contradictory two-dimensional data, which provides a more effective way of expressing time-period problems as well as two-dimensional information within a dataset. Thus, the proposed theory combines the parametric structure of complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets and hypersoft sets. Through the use of the parameter q, the framework captures information beyond the limited space of complex intuitionistic fuzzy hypersoft sets and complex Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft sets. By establishing basic set-theoretic operations, we demonstrate some of the fundamental properties of the model. To expand the mathematical toolbox in this field, Einstein and other basic operations will be introduced to complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft values. The relationship between it and existing methods demonstrates its exceptional flexibility. The Einstein aggregation operator, score function, and accuracy function are used to develop two multi-attribute decision-making algorithms, which prioritize based on the score function and accuracy function to ideal schemes under Cq-ROFHSS, which captures subtle differences in periodically inconsistent data sets. The feasibility of the approach will be demonstrated through a case study of selected distributed control systems. The rationality of these strategies has been confirmed by comparison with mainstream technologies. Additionally, we demonstrate that these results are compatible with explicit histograms and Spearman correlation analyses. The strengths of each approach are analyzed in a comparative manner. The proposed model is then examined and compared with other theories, demonstrating its strength, validity, and flexibility.

Abstract:In recent years, some multiple attribute decision making (MADM) methods have been presented based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs). In this paper, we propose a new MADM method based on IVIFSs, the linear programming (LP) methodology, and the extension of the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method, where the LP methodology is used to obtain optimal weights of attributes. The proposed method can overcome the drawbacks of the existing methods for MADM in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) environments.

Abstract:In this paper we present a new approach to solve multi-attribute decision making problems in intuitionistic fuzzy environment. This approach is based on a new ranking method of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, in which the evaluated values (in the form of intervals) of the same alternative with different attributes are considered as one unified entity. According to people's intuition, the ranking method proposed in this paper is mainly grounded on a revised score function and a revised accuracy function of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Different from the traditional methods, in this new approach, the degree of membership, the degree of nonmembership and the degree of hesitation are considered with various importance in reflecting the true image of the respective alternative. Furthermore, an optimization model is established to estimate the relative degree of importance of each quantity. Finally, two practical examples are provided to illustrate our approach.

Abstract:Pythagorean fuzzy sets have higher performance in expressing uncertainty information in multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM). The linear programming technique for multidimensional analysis of preference (LINMAP) is a prototypical compromising model that adjusts the deviation between objective assessments and subjective preferences on decision alternatives. However, the disadvantages of Pythagorean fuzzy sets in conflict measure and LINMAP model in inconsistent decision information structure have not been solved yet. To solve the problems that incomplete decision information in Pythagorean fuzzy set and inconsistent evaluation structure in LINMAP, the spatial measures and Dempster-Shafer evidence theory are introduced. A new spatial structure conflict measure is thus presented, and the belief structure of Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is used to provide a unified decision-making framework for LINMAP inconsistent evaluation structure. Firstly, a novel spatial distance measurement method is developed. Secondly, comprehensive closeness is introduced to measure individual order consistency and inconsistency between subjective preference and objective evaluation. Thirdly, we define the objective basic probability assignment and subjective basic probability assignment based on Dempster-Shafer belief structure to develop the bi-objective LINMAP of Pythagorean fuzzy sets and add the deviance between individual goodness of fit and poorness of fit is introduced as constraints to obtain the optimal attribution weights. Then, the final order of decision alternatives can be obtained by the fusion rules of Dempster-Shafer. Finally, we verify that the proposed method can improve the alternative discrimination in the case of unstable order, and the result of alternative order total biased of the proposed method is reduced by at least 80% compared with the comparative method.

Abstract:The multiple attribute decision making (MADM) with interval grey uncertain linguistic (IGUL) is a topic of current interest, and various methods have been developed. However, few approaches taking the behavioral characteristics of the decision maker into account. In this paper, an extension of TODIM (i.e., an acronym in Portuguese of interactive and multiple attribute decision making) method, in which three behavioral characteristics of the decision maker (i.e., risk aversion, reference dependence and loss aversion) are considered, is proposed. First, the d-Hamming distance is defined to deal with the interval grey uncertain linguistic variables by considering the level of the decision maker's risk aversion, and its distinguish ability is validated by compared to the classical Hamming distance. Then, the details of the TODIM. SIR method is demonstrated: (i) considering the reference dependence behaviour of the decision maker, the positive-ideal alternative (i.e., PIA) and the negative-ideal alternative (i.e., NIA) are defined, and the gain and loss degrees of each alternative relative to NIA and PIA are computed based on the delta-Hamming distance; (ii) taking the loss aversion behaviour of the decision maker into account, the perceived dominance degree of the decision maker for the gain and the loss is calculated; (iii) according to the idea of the Superiority and Inferiority Ranking method (i.e., SIR, an outranking method), the Gain-flow and the Loss-flow are defined, and the partial ranking orders and the complete ranking order are obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the robustness and validity of the method, and a comparative analysis is also conducted to compare the TODIM. SIR method with both the classical TODIM method and the classical SIR method.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a novel multiattribute decision making (MADM) method using the nonlinear programming (NLP) methodology and the proposed score function of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs). Firstly, we propose a new score function of IVIFVs to conquer the drawbacks of the existing score functions of IVIFVs. Then, we construct the converted matrix based on the proposed score function of IVIFVs by calculating the score value of each IVIFV in the decision matrix (DM) offered by the decision maker (DMK). Then, we construct the NLP model via the obtained converted matrix and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) weight of each attribute given by the DMK. Then, we solve the NLP model to obtain the optimal weight for each attribute. Then, based on the obtained converted matrix and the obtained optimal weight of each attribute, we calculate the weighted score of each alternative. Finally, the alternatives are ranked on the basis of the obtained weighted scores of the alternatives. The larger the weighted score of an alternative, the better the preference order of the alternative. The proposed MADM method can overcome the drawbacks of the existing MADM methods. It offers us a very useful approach for MADM in IVIF settings.

Abstract:A useful expansion of the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) for dealing with ambiguities in information is the Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS), which is one of the most frequently used fuzzy sets in data science. Due to these circumstances, the Aczel-Alsina operations are used in this study to formulate several Pythagorean fuzzy (PF) Aczel-Alsina aggregation operators, which include the PF Aczel-Alsina weighted average (PFAAWA) operator, PF Aczel-Alsina order weighted average (PFAAOWA) operator, and PF Aczel-Alsina hybrid average (PFAAHA) operator. The distinguishing characteristics of these potential operators are studied in detail. The primary advantage of using an advanced operator is that it provides decision-makers with a more comprehensive understanding of the situation. If we compare the results of this study to those of prior strategies, we can see that the approach proposed in this study is more thorough, more precise, and more concrete. As a result, this technique makes a significant contribution to the solution of real-world problems. Eventually, the suggested operator is put into practise in order to overcome the issues related to multi-attribute decision-making under the PF data environment. A numerical example has been used to show that the suggested method is valid, useful, and effective.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new multiattribute decision making (MADM) method based on the proposed nonlinear programming (NLP) model, the Gini coefficient, and the proposed score function (SF) of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs). Firstly, we propose a novel SF of IVIFVs to overcome the shortcomings of the existing SFs of IVIFVs. Then, we construct a score matrix (SMX) based on the proposed SF of IVIFVs and the decision matrix given by the decision maker (DMK). Then, we construct a NLP model based on the constructed SMX, the Gini coefficient, and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) weights of the attributes given by the DMK. After solving the constructed NLP model, we obtain the optimal weight (OW) of each attribute. Then, we compute the weighted score (WS) of each alternative based on the constructed SMX and the obtained OWs of the attributes. Finally, we rank the alternatives based on the obtained WSs of the alternatives. The proposed MADM method can overcome the shortcomings of the existing MADM methods in IVIF environments.

Abstract:In the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment, a new multi-attribute three-way decision-making model is proposed to address the problems that the relative loss function in the existing multi-attribute three-way decision-making model does not consider the degree of hesitancy, and the alternative conditional probabilities are given subjectively by the authors, which lacks objectivity. First, three types of ideal solutions are introduced, and the correlation coefficients between the evaluated values and ideal solutions are utilized to construct alternative relative loss functions. Second, the ELECTRE-I method is generalized to the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment to establish the outranking relation and a method for estimating the conditional probability of alternatives is given. Finally, the model is used to experimentally analyze examples to illustrate the effectiveness and rationality of the model.

Abstract:Aczel-Alsina t-norm and t-conorm are a valuable and feasible technique to manage ambiguous and inconsistent information because of their dominant characteristics of broad parameter values. The main theme of this analysis is to explore Aczel-Alsina operational laws in the presence of the complex interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (CIVIF) set theory. Furthermore, we derive the theory of aggregation frameworks based on Aczel-Alsina operational laws for managing the theory of CIVIF information. The CIVIF Aczel-Alsina weighted averaging (CIVIFAAWA), CIVIF Aczel-Alsina ordered weighted averaging (CIVIFAAOWA), CIVIF Aczel-Alsina hybrid averaging (CIVIFAAHA), CIVIF Aczel-Alsina weighted geometric (CIVIFAAWG), CIVIF Aczel-Alsina ordered weighted geometric (CIVIFAAOWG) and CIVIF Aczel-Alsina hybrid geometric (CIVIFAAHG) operators are proposed, and their well-known properties and particular cases are also detailly derived. Further, we derive the theory of the WASPAS method for CIVIF information and evaluate their positive and negative aspects. Additionally, we demonstrate the multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) strategy under the invented works. Finally, we express the supremacy and dominancy of the invented methods with the help of sensitive analysis and geometrical shown of the explored works.

Abstract:The intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy set (IHFS) is an enriched version of hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs) that can cover both fuzzy sets (FSs) and intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). By assigning membership and non-membership grades as subsets of [0, 1], the IHFS can model and handle situations more proficiently. Another related theory is the theory of set pair analysis (SPA), which considers both certainties and uncertainties as a cohesive system and represents them from three aspects: identity, discrepancy, and contrary. In this article, we explore the suitability of combining the IHFS and SPA theories in multi-attribute decision making (MADM) and present the hybrid model named intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy connection number set (IHCS). To facilitate the design of a novel MADM algorithm, we first develop several averaging and geometric aggregation operators on IHCS. Finally, we highlight the benefits of our proposed work, including a comparative examination of the recommended models with a few current models to demonstrate the practicality of an ideal decision in practice. Additionally, we provide a graphical interpretation of the devised attempt to exhibit the consistency and efficiency of our approach.

Abstract:To objectively evaluate the influence of hesitant fuzziness on the ranking of alternatives in multi-attribute decision making with hesitant fuzzy or probabilistic hesitant fuzzy information, the binary connection number of set pair analysis is applied to hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision making. The hesitant or probabilistic hesitant fuzzy set is transformed to the binary connection number. A hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision making model based on binary connection number is then established. Binary connection number theory is utilized to obtain the hesitant fuzzy center and decision-making suggestions about the alternative ranking under different hesitant fuzzy conditions. Experimental examples show that the hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision making model based on binary connection number has a certain versatility. It can determine the optimal scheme under the influence of hesitant fuzziness on the alternative ranking and contains the results of the same hesitant fuzzy decision-making problem using other methods, which helps in targeted decision making according to different hesitant fuzzy conditions.

Abstract:The interval-valued fuzzy soft set (IVFSS) model, which combines the benefits of the soft set model with the interval-valued fuzzy set (IVFS) model, is a growing and effective mathematical tool for processing hazy data. In detail, this model is characterized by symmetry, which has the lower and upper membership degree. The study of decision-making based on IVFSS has picked up more steam recently. However, existing multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) methods can only sort alternative schemes, but are not able to classify them, which is detrimental to decision-makers' efficient decision-making. In this paper, we propose a multi-attribute three-way decision-making (MATWDM) algorithm based on ideal solutions for IVFSS. MATWDM is extended to the IVFSS environment by incorporating the concept of the ideal solution, offering a more adaptable and comprehensive approach for addressing uncertain MADM issues. The method not only obtains the ranking results of the alternatives, but also divides them into acceptance domain, rejection domain, and delayed-decision domain, which makes the decision results more reasonable and effective, facilitating decision-makers to make better decisions. We apply the proposed three-way decision algorithm to two practical cases as diverse as mine emergency decision and Homestay selection decision. Additionally, the effectiveness and viability of the suggested method are confirmed by experimental findings.

Abstract:The scientific evaluation of property perceived service quality (PPSQ) needs multi-stage, multi-source and large-group perceived information, which is deemed to be the decision problem for dynamic, heterogeneous and large-scale data processing. Aiming at the problem, we propose a general multi-attribute multi-scale (MAMS) method based on the dynamic linear programming technique for multi-dimensional analysis of preference (LINMAP). In the dynamic LINMAP model, the classic MAMS matrix is introduced and extended into a general form. The dynamic LINMAP model is constructed by defining dynamic consistency and dynamic inconsistency. The time series weight is determined by Orness method. The new method adapts to the requirements of modern PPSQ. Finally, we verify the feasibility and effectiveness of dynamic LINMAP method by analyzing a PPSQ evaluation example. The new method improves the traditional PPSQ evaluation, and provides a perspective for large-scale data processing by the classic decision method.

Abstract:Weight assignment of attribute is considered as a key part of multiple attribute decision making (MADM), and this is also applicable to labeled multiple attribute decision making (LMADM) that is a decision theory specially proposed for the dataset with labels. However, regarding the decision making of massive data characterized by redundancy and uncertainty, more means including attribute selection and uncertainty processing should be considered to solve these problems. Based on the traditional framework of LMADM, this paper deduces a new framework to adapt to the decision making of massive data. With respect to the uncertainty generated from data and decision process, a fuzzy neighborhood three-way decision model (FN3WD) is proposed, in which the fuzzy neighborhood relationship can address the uncertainty of data and the three-way decision theory can deal with the uncertainty of decision process. Finally, the experimental results illustrate the superiority of FN3WD and verify the effectiveness of the proposed framework of the extended LMADM by using some benchmarked datasets and the Commercial Modular Aero-Propulsion System Simulation dataset.

Abstract:The paper presents a novel multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) approach for the problem with completely unknown attribute weights in the framework of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFS). First, the fuzzy cross entropy and discrimination degree of IVIFS are defied. Subsequently, based on the discrimination degree of IVIFS, a nonlinear programming model to minimize the total deviation of discrimination degrees between alternatives and the positive ideal solution PIS as well as the negative ideal solution (NIS) is constructed to obtain the attribute weights and, then, the weighted discrimination degree. Finally, all the alternatives are ranked according to the relative closeness coefficients using the extended TOPSIS method, and the most desirable alternative is chosen. The proposed approach extends the research method of MADM based on the IVIF cross entropy. Finally, we illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed method by two examples.

Dynamic Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Normal Fuzzy Aggregation Operators and Their Applications to Multi-Attribute Decision-Making

Abstract:For multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems with temporal characteristics and attribute values of interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy numbers, dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy weighted averaging (DIINFWA) operators are presented, and their properties are proved. Since attribute weights and time weights have both been unknown in MADM problems, we propose a dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy MADM method. In this method, a combination weighting method of gray correlation analysis and the maximum deviation method are used to solve for attribute weights, comprehensively considering the subjective experience of decision-makers and objectives of decision data; time weights are decomposed into time-constant and time-variable weight vectors. We determine time weights using the time function, combining information entropy and a logistic function. According to the algorithm of interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy numbers, decision-making information in different time sequences are aggregated using the proposed DIINFWA operators. We construct a dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic normal fuzzy comprehensive decision matrix and use the VIKOR (Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje) method to obtain the optimal solution. Finally, the feasibility and significance of the presented method compared to existing methods are verified through analysis of numerical examples.
